In a world ravaged by a modern plague killing millions, the government covertly devises a cure. Yet, the serum’s harrowing side effects wreak havoc on civilization, transforming the afflicted into the undead. Amidst the chaos, two unlikely heroes emerge at the dawn of a zombie apocalypse-a nightmarish era where the dead prey on flesh and the living ensnare the weak for their cruel amusement. Our heroes wage war on dual fronts against these horrors, as humanity’s flicker of hope wanes, signaling what might truly be the beginning of the end.
I'm a fan of zombie novels in general, and this did not disappoint. Sean Kidd wove together a fantastic story. I recommend this to all fans of zombies and of horror in general.
The best Zombie book I have read in a long time. This is the 2nd Sean Kidd book I have read and they couldn’t be more different! Both horror but this one is action packed from beginning to end. Lots of GREAT kills and fun banter! I can’t wait to read the sequel to this!
Bill and Ted's excellent Zombie adventure! I have been staying away from the zombie genre lately, being a bit burned out on it. But I liked this book a lot and about to dive into book 2.
First let me say thank you to Goodreads and Sean Kidd for the privilege of reading The Beginning of the End. I love I love zombies and post-apocalyptic stories but I haven’t had a chance to read many of them so The Beginning of the End was a wonderful change of pace for me. In fact, I finished this edge of your seat, action-packed, unpredictable book in 1 day! I give this book 3 1/2 stars.
I won't post spoilers, because I hate ruining it for others. I will post a snippet from the author. With millions of people being wiped out by a modern plague, the Government secretly creates a cure. Devastating side effects of the serum, have a catastrophic effect on civilization.
The Beginning of the End is a well thought out book with good characters. It satisfied my thirst for the thrills and gore that come along with a good zombie genre novel. With how unintelligent these people are I find it hard to believe that they are still alive, however I did very much appreciate the “laugh factor” it offered. Well written (although some grammar errors) and kept my attention until the end. Great first book. I am looking forward to Sean Kidd’s next novel. Thanks again.
I tend not to read many zompoc stories, but really enjoyed this one from Sean Kidd.
One of the things that impressed me was the use of firearms in his story. Some folks think they know a lot about them and attempt to impress the reader with nomenclature, specs, calibers, whizbangs, and gizmos. Sean comes across as actually knowing what he is talking about and was able to let the reader know who was using what without going on and on with exhausting details.
I thought is was nice to see the story happening from various groups of characters and how they end up interacting towards the end. The ending definitely leaves you wanting to read more.
I really enjoyed this book, great read and it was good having the two separate stories going on at the same time, looking forward to reading more from Sean Kidd. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was the way the dialogue was presented, on too many occasions it was impossible to tell who was speaking without having to re-read it. If that was fixed it would definitely get that extra star.
If your other books are like this one, your going to be very popular!! It felt like I was one of the characters in the story. Out of of the books I've read, your the second author made me feel like I was a character in your book!!! Great Job Sean!!!!
I like apocalypse books that give a bit of information as they go. So far this author discusses weapons in detail and I learned a few things. Interesting story.
I love zombies. Seriously. A new, different story always pulls me in. And an author who can work in the old song by Tony Orlando and Dawn into the story wins me over. ( Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round An Old Oak Tree) I can't wait for book 2. My favorite characters are Chevy and Ty. I would want them on my side. Also, there is sadness in the story. My heart was broken for 2 of the characters. Grab the book and enjoy.

What the hell!? This book is crap. Every word has been partially redacted. Some words have one letter missing, replaced by a square shape, and some have many if not most missing, replaced by squares. Whomever is responsible sucks! I paid for a book, not a crossword puzzle.
