Arianna has finally has finally crossed the line of no return. She has established herself as Luka's new girlfriend, and trying to gather as much information about his illegal dealings as possible. She is fast realizing how over her skill-set this mission might be.

The first installment was a tease, but now we are in full on sexy mode. Luka is very dominant, in all ways. We get to see a little more of his place in the organization. I really got into him as an anti-hero. Unfortunately Arianna has me a little conflicted. I like her as a person, but a bit put off at her weakness considering her chosen profession.

This is still an interesting story, but some of the typical New Adult heroine trends, don't work in a story about a CIA operative. 3 1/2 stars.

This series just keeps getting better and better. We finally get to see the good side of Luka, Arianna feels there is still hope for Luka. Unfortunately her heart and mind are deeply confused, is it wrong that I hope that she listens to her heart and not betray Luka.

Umm this was okay ig, I still enjoyed arianna but like she was weak the whole time. Like girl u work for the CIA they kill people too😭 like she was all crying and shït and it was like the switch from this being her job to her liking him was so fast and it felt rlly jarring and like didn’t flow personally. Luka was fine ig there was nothing rlly separating him from like any other mafia dude but whatevs. Also the mafia element was just rlly lacking like rlly lacking like the way he full was super scary but like decided to just not kill anyone for her and idk in general. Umm this specific scene was tho was just

“No,” I said, my eyes burning into Luka’s. “You can’t. I don’t want you to. Understand?”
He glared at me. “He deserves it!”
“I know! But I want you—I want you to be better than that! You are better than that, Luka!”
The man on the floor laughed and coughed up blood. He croaked something about Luka being pussy-whipped. Luka kicked him in the chest and he went quiet.
“Please, Luka,” I begged. “I—”
Suddenly, I caught myself. What was I doing?! Was I really trying to change him? To reform a monster? Of course he wasn’t going to change!
But I could see that momentary flicker in his eyes, the glimpse of something better inside. I wasn’t trying to change him. I was just trying to help him be the man he wanted to be. He’d called me his spaseniye. Well, this was where I got to choose whether to be his salvation or not.
Luka shook his head at me. “I can’t be weak,” he told me. He picked the man up by the collar and lifted him right off the ground, his feet kicking in the air. He drew back his fist for what I knew would be the killer blow.
“If you want me,” I croaked, tears in my eyes, “you have to not do this.” The words were out before I knew I was going to say them.”

LIKE HELPPPPPP. GIRL FULL DID THE YOURE BETTER THAN THIS DONT DO THIS FOR ME LIKE IM SORRY I CANNOT I DANNOG

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in a three-part serial. As I said in my review of part one, Seduced, serials aren’t usually my thing. If I read them, I usually wait until all parts are out, and only then I will only read them if they are moderately priced. This serial is a winner because all parts are released at the same time and they are all well-priced! I read through all three parts in one day, I could not put them down.

Arianna and Luka’s relationship builds in the second book of the series. The walls Arianna and Luka have both built start crumbling down. You see Arianna’s strength rise in the first book, but even more so in the second book. I liked seeing the softer side of Luka as well. He’s multi-dimensional and Helena illustrates that well. It’s not just Arianna’s character that’s conflicted in this episode, it’s Luka’s as well. Helena knows just how to write and where to cut off to have you hanging on the edge of your seat.

I have read another book by Helena Newbury and I enjoyed it enough to want to read more of her work. I really enjoyed this book and this series, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a twist on the traditional new adult romance story

Arianna manages to get herself more involved in Luka's business affairs, telling herself that she can handle it, that she's just doing her job and she'll be able to walk away once she has enough information on him. However, it is clear that both her and Luka are starting to have much deeper feelings for each other and that everything is becoming more complicated. Luka is already going against his fathers wishes about getting rid of Arianna and he let a business rival go free when Arianna asked him to spare the mans life. We see fleeting moments of tenderness from Luka and despite what he does for a living, I can totally see the attraction for him. I don't see how this can end well for either MC but I really hope it does.

Holy freaking crap! I know I'm helplessly in love with Luka (I mean who wouldn't be).. In this book you definitely get to see more of Luka, and let me tell you, you'll fall just as hard as I did for him. He's not what he seems, he's got a roll to play just like everyone else.

But I can't decide if I'm jealous or super pissed at Arianna. She's got all the attention she could ever want from the sexy Russian, but she got pressure coming in from her job to close the deal. I'm hoping she doesn't go through with it!

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. First, I just wanted to say I love this series and can not wait to read the 3rd installment. Luka and Arianna have grown closer. Luka still has no idea that his lover works for the CIA. Arianna almost lets the cat out of the bag but manages to cover her tracks. She is falling fast and hard for the Russian. The debating has started for Arianna. Will she give up her love for the bad boy and turn him in? Or will Arianna confide in her lover who she is and let him get away?

What an amazing part 2. We finally get to see more of Luka's heart. Arianna and Luka's relationship is evolving and Arianna is getting more conflicted. Her head and heart fighting. This second offering has a lot of action and we meet Luka's father. Luka decides that regardless of his Father's wishes he cannot let Arianna go! Now on to part 3!

“As if he didn’t mind someone finding out his weakness....as long as it was me.”

I am marking book as a comedy for the amount of times I laughed in the past two hours. The cut from this book to the next one makes much more sense than it was from the first book to this. Whatever charm Arianna has should be a case study, because I really can’t find any words to utter that could describe the way that happened. As much as it does not makes sense, it really is entertaining.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange of an honest review.

I HATE THE COVERS SO MUCH!!! ... Now that that's out of the way...

Arianna (love the name) is a language expert working for the CIA. Her current task is listen to a Russian arms dealer’s calls and transcript them, but she can’t concentrate on anything but his sexy voice. She doesn’t know a thing about him, only his name, Luka. Arianna wants to prove herself as a field agent but she wasn’t given the chance up until the opportunity comes to spy on Luka himself. For this she’ll have to get close to the enemy and try to leave her attraction for him on the side.

I really liked this book, it has that something that makes it really fun to read but it didn’t blew me away. First of, I’m going to write only one review for the three parts of the story because it’s easier to consider it as a whole and because I read them all together so there isn’t much of a separation for me.
I don’t want to spoil anything so I’m gonna write some things I liked and disliked but I’m not getting into the details.

-I liked the fact that she had something happened to her and we didn’t know what it was but it had affected her whole life so we wanted to know. I would have liked for it to be a bit more explored. I would’ve wanted to read more about her life with her family when she was younger, and the things she used to do. We get mentions about it but never a full chapter or anything like that. And also, it bother me a little that she mentioned it so many times before explaining it. It would’ve been more intriguing if she only mentioned it once or twice and the reader was left wondering until maybe when she had the episode on the car or something,

-Oh god did I love Luka when he was all sweet and tender. I love how he treated her and that he believed she was his salvation. Although I didn’t like his need to control her decisions and to tell her what to though even though he knew it was what she wanted. Personally I don’t feel attracted to that kind of men.

- I loved, loved, loved when Arianna had internal monologues or when she was talking to herself. So funny.

-At times I felt like the book was going waaaaay too fast and I felt a bit dizzy if that makes any sense (?). I really liked the sharp endings of the chapters but I got tired of them on every chapter. Again if it was more subtle it would have been better.

All and all it was a pretty entertaining and fun book to read. Also H-O-T because c'mon, who wouldn't want a Luka in her life? I know I would.

Really fast paced and good writing style in my opinion, I didn't have problems with that. I recommend this book if you are into New adult type of read. Some pretty descriptive sex scenes in there so be aware.

And last, thanks to Helena for the ARC and sorry for the delay but college is in the way!

Really good series with a strong CIA Spy plot. H&h will irritate you a little, seeing they both were supposed to be highly intelligent. The only thing I can't figure out is why were they so Stuck On Stupid in a couple of scenes where the problem was completely obvious.

I can't even get started on the heroine, and how she felt something odd, but gives the person information. Well, if you know something is a little off, wouldn't you think twice about passing along information that could alter people's lives.

Also, I feel like brushing my teeth now just thinking about the taste test.

Anyway, other than those few relatively small pet peeves this series, which all together makes one book, is very good. Well written, interesting, with a really good story line. The sex was hot. I loved the bodyguard.

This author knows how to spin a story with great romance, angst, hot sex, close friends, and loyal relationships. I honestly like her style of writing and will def be reading more of her books.

Happy reading.

Review

In the second instalment, Betrayed, Luka and Ariana become girlfriend and boyfriend and the drama rises. Ariana learns more of Luka's world and has to come to a decision. What I liked about this one is it seemed to grow properly into the complication and climax instead of just continuing with the intro - which I noticed some series such as these do. When I finished with this part, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the third part, just to see how this would end. In my opinion this was an excellent part two to part one - it won't let you down. I promise! Congratulations to Helena Newbury for this excellent piece and it's publication.

Rating Plan
1 star : Strongly did not like the book, writing and plot was bad. Idea of the book was against my liking.
2 star : Didn't like it, didn't find it interesting or gripping. Seemed to drag on to me.
3 star : An average book. Wasn't bad or good. Everything else was well done. Original idea.
4 star : Like a 3 star but has potential to it as a series or the book grew on me as it progressed and certain scenes captured me. I Enjoyed it and read it in one sitting.
5 star : I LOVED IT! I stayed up late until 3 am. Author is a genius, characters, plot, idea, development, EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT. Nothing else can possibly be said except that its 5 STAR!

I read this book for an honest review.
After a successful first encounter with Luka, Arianna may have done just a little too well in catching his eye. After overhearing a conversation between Luka and his head bodyguard regarding HER she runs to her handler with the information to see how he wants to proceed. What she didn't expect? A mission to Moscow to try to become Luka's gf. Is her intrigue enough to keep his attention.
Book 2 starts up where book 2 left off. In this book we get to dig a little deeper into Luka and why he's so fascinated with Arianna. It also poses the question of is there such a thing as a lesser evil? Then there's Arianna, can the sweet translator make it in the field? Can she keep character and not give herself away? Can she keep her feelings professional or is the draw to Luka just too strong? Part two was just as fast paced as part one but where part two stands apart is finally the heat between these two!! Definitely keep your fans ready! Again this is not a standalone and is book 2 in a 3 part series. The books need to be read in order and again this one ends in a cliffhanger. All three books are done though so you can read them one right after the other!

This book made me crazy!

The first part was very exciting, but the second part made it almost impossible to sleep at all.
Hello ..... I also have to work! : - )

OK, but stick to the facts. Of course, I will not disclose what is going on in this book! You have to discover for Yourself, so read this book and enjoy ;-)
It is exciting, sometimes funny, very unnerving and of course hot. Every second you expect that everything collapses and .... it does not. And it's still incredibly gripping.

I actually can say that I love this book. The fact, that I do not know what happens next is just indescribable.
I am starting to read the third part, because I’m just too curious of how the story continues.

Helena you make me a nervous wreck ;-)
Keep it up the great work, I really need it. I’m addicted to Your books. : - )

Arianna has done her job and gotten close enough to Luka to be his current girlfriend. However, her ability to view him as a job diminishes as she spends time with him, creating a conflict of mind vs heart. Luka – my new BBF, thankyouverymuch – is completely falling for Arianna and is conflicted within himself as well. He needs to have no known weaknesses, but must also show compassion to appease Arianna.
This book is so f-ing hot you must be prepared to melt. Seriously.

Luka is a take-charge kind of man, in all areas of his life. He brings Arianna’s sex life to new heights, and together they fall – and by fall I mean fall-really-freaking-hard – for each other. By the end of this instalment you can see the writing on the wall, and I kid you not, your stomach with be in knots, your heart will be in your throat, and you may need to change your underwear ;)

Arianna finds herself being pulled deeper and deeper into Lukas world.

You start seeing a softer side of Luka as he becomes more and more honest with

Arianna. Will she be able to use whatever she finds against him. Or are her

feelings going to get into the way of her job?

I love Luka or something so endearing about him. Even though he is a

criminal and you know he is doing all these bad things you find yourself seeing

the good side of him. As the story progresses you find Arianna becoming more

sure of herself. Then of course there's one major cliffhanger at the end. I

can't wait to read the final book in the series

Received an ARC copy from author for a honest review. Couldn't wait to read since it's the continuation of Arianna and Luca story. Conflicted was a great title for the book. Spending more time undercover pretending to be Luca's girlfriend is overwhelming and so complex for Arianna. She knows what he is but gets a glimpse of the man behind the ruthless Russian arms dealer leading to feelings that are unexpected leaving her conflicted. Luca knows he's bad and lives in a dangerous world. Being with Arianna makes him wish for things he's never thought about before. He sees her as an innocent and possible salvation. Love their passion and chemistry. Book leaves you wanting more with it's cliffhanger ending.

Arianna is in over her head, or so it feels like. She is falling for a man who she should knows is not redemiable, but somehow she just can't seem to deny Luka.

We go deeper into this world and as you go you get more sucked into it and with every turn of the page you get more and more excited to see the twists and turns that the story takes.

You are drawn into the characters life and you want to see her find her happiness while also wondering if she can really find it with a guy whos supposed to be so bad.

Great part two and once again that cliffhanger is quite a doozy leaving you excited for the final installment in this series!

What in the Gods name is going on in this book????

Ok in this book we see more about the characters than the actual plot of the story...
Still its so freaking confusing cause we suspect of things that going to happen and the book gives us nothing...
only little glimses that doesn't help at all.
Its amazing and fristrating at the same time!
Truth is i am so freaking glad i recieved all three books by the author cause i couldn't possibly wait for the next one to coem out!!!

Wow, great book!

Ariana is falling hard for Luka. She takes a trip with him and listens as he makes an arms deal with several other criminals. She also meets his father but can't react when the man tells his son to drop the American as soon as they return to Moscow. Ariana has a lot of incriminating information, will she be able to use it against Luka? I can't wait to read the next book and get the answer. Loving this series.

In this 2nd part, Arianna is finally with the guy who has been haunting her day and night even though she has an agenda. She sees the side of Luka that wasn't shown in the years of studying him and her feelings deepen. But is Luka feeling the same or is she just a temporary interest?

Once again, the story ends with a cliffhanger which doesn't make me a happy camper but this series is just too intriguing for me to miss out.

Again, this book hooked me from the start and I finished it very quickly.
This picks up from the end of the first book, Seduced.
Arianna is sent to Moscow to try and force a meeting with Luka, to try and worm herself into a relationship with him so that she can get more intel to send back to her boss.
This book has steamy love scenes, suspense and just pulls you into their world.
Can't wait for the next in the series. I need to know just how Arianna is going to pull this off and if Luka will do as his father tells him.

Conflicted is part of the Undercover series that I found myself devouring. Arianna is a CIA agent that is getting close to Luka, a Russian mobster. In Conflicted, Arianna is twisted in her feelings for Luka, she can see the good in him and wants to save him. I felt her pain as she didn’t know what to do. Luka makes her feel alive and trusts her. Arianna knows that she’ll end up dead if Luka figures out her secret. Just waiting to see what would happen kept me reading until I had finished the series.

A Review of Conflicted (Undercover Part 2) by Helena Newbury

Evil or not??? -- 5++++ stars

After reading the first part of this story, I had to immediately go and get the next two parts of it, just to find out what happens. The storyline and characters grab you from the beginning and don't let go until the very last page.

Grammar is one of my biggest pet peeves, but I didn't find any in the first part of the story and only two minor ones in this one. Can't wait to read the next book and find out what happens.

Wow! This second parts start right where the first let off.
Arianna is becoming more involved with Luka's dealings and keeps telling herself that she is just doing her jobs and once she has enough information she will be able to walk away. Both Arianna and Luka are falling fast for one another and the Heat between them is getting Steaming HOT! Luka is starting to show a softer side of his heart when it comes to Arianna. This second part also brings a lot more action with his rivals. But what will win out her heart or her mind? Will she be able to turn her heart and back on Luka?

This series just gets better and better. I could not put this book down for the life of me. I ate my meals while reading this. Arianna is so innocent and Luka so dark and sexy they just steam up the pages. The suspense of the story line is also great. I can't wait to read the next book!

I was given this book by the author for an honest review in my own words. I was not compensation in any way.
