The week he was set to propose, I found out that Jackson was cheating.

With his friend's nineteen-year-old daughter.

I wasn't thinking - I forced my way into her apartment the night I saw their sex tape.

But now she's gone missing and Jackson has me trapped in our relationship.

To even the score, he's told me to have my own affair.

"It's complicated" doesn't even begin to describe twenty-six-year-old Lara Pierce's engagement to Jackson Kinsley, the gorgeous man at the top of the rich, mysterious boys club that runs Manhattan society. Tangled in a world of luxe galas, shiny penthouses and handsome men who can literally get away with murder, Lara's sure that accepting Jackson's offer will somehow make her wild life a little simpler.

But when she unknowingly sleeps with Jackson's irresistibly tall, dark and sexy brother, Jake, the floodgates open - to the darkest truths and deepest lies that shatter her perfect world a million times over.

**Readers beware, this here is one long arse spoilery review**

After reading Rhys's Ex Games, I immediately searched for more of her books and lucky me (YAY), all her books are available on Kindle U.

In Too Deep is about Lara, Jackson, and Jacob.

Sigh. What can I say about Lara? I'll tell you, Lara is the perfect New York Girlfriend (to Jackson) who lives to dress up as the perfect Barbie GF. Lara's day goes like this:

1. Dress seductively

2. Drink copious amounts of wine or tequila or bourbon or whatever

3. Attend dinner parties with Jackson where his friends all salivate over her perfect form. The author ensures we all know how her milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. *you know what I mean, don't ya?*

4. Lunch with, Sloane, her BFF

5. Repeat 1-4.

Sigh. What can I say about Lara? She's silly, stupid and boring. Aside from her "illuminated and blinding" beauty, Lara has nothing else going for her.

Oh, silly me. She also has a pave diamond encrusted Va-jay-jay.

Notwithstanding the aforementioned pave V, Jackson still cheats on poor silly Lara with, Gabrielle, a nineteen yr old daughter of family friends. See here: if Lara, at 26, and with all her blinding beauty can't stop Jackson from straying, then, there's no hope for us mere mortals.

Anyhoo, when Lara discovers this scandalicious shenanigan, she hops over to Gabrielle's apartment where she promptly gets her ass whooped, although not before drawing some blood from the infidel.

When the infidel girl ups and disappears that same night, Lara can't help but think perhaps she was the one responsible, and of course, Jackson, as all perfect BFs do, accused her of having done something sinister.

"Why is Gabrielle's blood all over your shirt, Lara?" he asked.

Meanwhile, discontent with her cheating BF, Lara won't allow him near the "paves", no siree. So, he says:

"I allow you to go sleep with another man, then, we're even."

Gasp, you say! Why I never, you say!

Well, my dear, pearl clutching friends. Never fear I'll give you the low-down dirty. Afer all, what are friends for? Amirite?

Picking up a stray man, however, is a feat not to be taken lightly and this has Lara trolling through the numerous NY boroughs and by a precise scientific method of elimination, Lara's "awe-inspiring" cognitive process lands her in BROOKLYN. Gasp!

After that meeting, everything comes to a head, Lara discovers more disturbing things about Jackson; meanwhile, she can't get Max, aka Jacob/Jake, outta her head. She wants out! Like right now. And as all perfect BFs do, Jackson reminds her he has evidence she might be culpable in Gabrielle's disappearance.

Fuckit! She's stuck! What will Lara do?

On to the next book. YAY me!

Some people hate reading books dealing with cheating. I'm not one of them. I actually enjoy those type of stories, especially when the character I care about isn't the piece of shit cheater.

I love everything I've read from Stella Rhys, but I'll admit the overall star rating on this one had me a little nervous. I should have known I had nothing to worry about though. Cheating romance always gets shit on, and this author has never let me down!

In Too Deep is addictive, intriguing, and full of drama. I love Jake so much! If he isn't Lara's HEA, I will be devastated. Jackson has all the audacity, and I could not want him to jump off a cliff more.

The way we find out piece by piece about the cheating and the murder situation makes the plot more intriguing and the whole situation more difficult for Lara. It also kept me interested and emotionally invested. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds!

On top of the mystery factor, the writing style kept me engaged and captivated from beginning to end. I flew through book in no time. In Too Deep is novella length, and it was the perfect quick read for my Sunday night. I can't wait to dive into Too Far Gone today!

Cheating romance fans, this one's for you!

This story was a lot different than what I thought I was going to be reading about. From the description, I thought Jackson had some really good dirt on his wife Lara, and would force her into doing some really compromising shit, but none of that happened. Instead he gets outed as a cheater in the beginning of this story, so he tells his wife to go cheat herself so they can be even and move on with their relationship. Lara does cheat, she picks up some random dude and after screwing him, she loves cheating too. HUGE SPOILER AHEAD-don't read unless you want a biggie in this story truly spoiled: Jackson never uses his dirt on her until the very end, and only then to keep her from leaving him and forcing her to stay. . The characters in this book were so one dimensional and shallow. Honestly I don't really care what happens to any of them enough to read book 2. Thank God this one was free and I didn't have to pay for it.

Agh. This book was aggravating but addicting!

I legitimately want to shake these characters during this entire story, but for some reason I finished it. I guess it is the underlying suspense plot. I wanted to know some things, and hopefully they will be answered in book two. All in all this is a decent read. If you can read cheating you will be ok, but if it makes you rage-y you will totally feel that while reading this book.

This short book is cray cray! I really wish I could read the second part ASAP! If you don't mind crazy drama, cheating, smoking hot sex, twisted emotions, and dysfunctional families, then you NEED to read this story!!! Basically, what I'm saying is if you liked Arsen by Mia Asher or K.A. Linde's books, then you would like this one.

5~Holy S***! Stars

I never expected something like this...plain weird I think.
But I do love it, definitely keeping my interest, no problem.

I went from hating Jackson to forgiving him soon after and now I
regret it. His plan to even the score and make ammends with Lara
seems to be back firing.

Jackson (assbag) is determined to keep Lara at whatever cost, he
will never let her go and he has something to ensure that she stays.
What he doesn't know yet, is who she hooked up with to make things
"even."

With Jackson's brother Jacob in town, things begin coming out that
have Lara questioning if she even knows Jack anymore. Mysteries &
Secrets, not everything is as it seems

“ First and foremost, his parents love me. But on top of that, his colleagues love me. The wives and girlfriends love me. I “keep them young.” At their galas, I dress like Jackie O and dance like J.Lo. I don’t tell any of them that the dinners I host are inspired by the pinterest board of some girl named Maggie in Wisconson.
I keep all of his secrets. I dig for dirt when he asks for it. I cook,I massage, I dress like I live in the pages of Elle. Like he so desperately needs me to, I make all of his friends jealous. Because I, after the of his styling and modelling, am the perfect little Stepford girlfriend. I am as much a part of his good image as he is.
And so he’ll never let me go.
No matter how hard I scream and claw and kick and fight, he won’t ever let me go. He cheated on me.
Gabrielle Winter was her name.
No. Not was – is.
Gabrielle Winter is her name. After all, you can’t really call a girl dead when her body has yet to be found.”

Holy fuck y’all – welcome to the crazy ride that is Lara’s life.

This is a short and fast paced read filled with action, secrets and a whole lot of hot sex. The story follows a group of the rich elite and its difficult to identify who is friend and who is foe in this world where nobody is innocent. The characters are all messed up people making questionable choices.
Jackson is a truly despicable asshole I loved to hate. I wanted to end this man. I found it hard to respect Lara as her motivations for her actions were lame and I felt like she’d do anything just to hang onto the lifestyle she grew accustomed to while playing upscale escort Barbie .

Jake, the brother, was hot as fuck and though the chemistry was sizzling and the sex was hot and dirty between him and Lara I wanted to scream that he deserved better. (Though it could just be that I was insanely and ridiculously jealous over this hot piece of fictional hunk)
“ I would give anything to wake up to you every morning.”

This one certainly kept me guessing right until the end but be sure to have the 2nd book in hand as it ends on a cliffy.

O M G!! MIND BLOWN!!! This book was a short, crazy, super intense book and I can not wait to get my hands on the next one!!

First let me say that I NEVER condone cheating and I hate when people stay with their significant other once they have been cheated on, but I was like girl ... get you some ... the whole dang book (LOL)!!

In this book Lara stays with Jackson even after finding out that he cheated on her multiple times. That was a little frustrating but Jackson is a master manipulator ... he has Lara hook line and sinker and she never sees it coming. He totally and completely manipulates her into thinking that she just might have killed his mistress and he even has the proof.

"I discovered that the charmed life I had loved so deeply, so fiercely had been nothing more than a sick and twisted lie."

So we have Jackson, billionaire doting boyfriend for years, who has slowly molded Lara into exactly what he wants. The girl every guy wants, the girl every man is fantasizing about, the woman who can charm the pants off of everyone in the room. When Lara discovers that Jackson cheated, she is devastated. In order to salvage their relationship Jackson tells Lara to cheat, that it was just sex and it meant nothing and if she cheats then she to will see that. As ridiculous as the offer sounds Lara decides to go with it to hopefully salvage their relationship. Being the socialites they are, image is everything, and Jackson continues to convince Lara that he still loves her through it all.

“So you and I go way back?” I lifted an eyebrow at him.
“To about a minute ago when I came out of that employee door,” he replied with ease.
I bit my lip as I watched the corners of his twist with mischief.
“Not a fan of lying but desperate times call for desperate measures.”
“Of course,” I humored him.
“And what kind of desperate times were you facing just now?”
“Seeing the hottest woman I’ve ever laid eyes on at a bar and not being the guy sitting next to her.”
“Mm. Tough life.”

So Lara heads out to find her a "man" to cheat with. She meets a man in Brooklyn named "Max", and keeping things simple she gives the name Tara and has the a night that will forever be ingrained into her memory. But everything blows up when Jackson takes her to meet his brother the morning after her "fling", and who's sitting at the table ... "Max" who isn't really Max but Jake, Jackson's brother.

"I’m not the love of his life – I’m just a prize that he refuses to let go of because he knows other people might want me.”

This book kept me on the edge of my seat ... its like Gossip Girl meets Scandal meets 90210 meets CSI ... and what an ending ... I mean talk about a cliffhanger!!!

I am fairly certain that this book goes against everything I believe in when it comes to the romance genre.

Aaaand I loved it.

Hear me out (I tell myself). I don't know what happened but I found myself completely taken in by this stupid plot. Let it be known that I hate when girls stay with their cheating, sorry ass boyfriends even when they know the motherfucker is a total piece of lying shit. And that totally happens in this book. But, In Too Deep's protagonist, Lara, stays with her philandering billionaire (I know), Jackson, because he is a master manipulator who is subtly mindfucking her into believing that she killed his mistress.

Which is new. I mean shit. That's fairly intense.

Anyway, Jackson is irrationally obsessed with his soon-to-be bride because she's spent years molding herself to become his perfect little Stepford girlfriend, so he proposes to save their relationship by telling her to have an affair of her own. Something along the lines of "you'll fuck him but still love me" the way he boned some teenager yet still loves her.

It sounds so incredibly ridiculous but I have to say, the Manhattan social scene that Ms. Rhys creates makes it all seem in line. Everyone is so preoccupied with appearances that they'd rather bend over backwards, twist their morals and make severely questionable decisions for the sake of maintaining their carefully curated images.

So of course, Lara accidentally sleeps with Jackson's brother's Jake (whom I have to say, is a refreshingly not-possessive, controlling, or brooding alpha male) and the rest is history. It's a very short book and leaves off at a holy-shit-what-now cliffhanger, but that's okay, I got the book for free on Kindle Unlimited and I plan to do the same with its sequel.

Also a note: The writing is surprisingly very good and flows easily. The pages just keep turning and on top of that, my sister-in-law tells me that the way New York is written is spot on. So kudos on that, Ms. Rhys. Five stars from me and my newfound love for tropey romance that features good supporting casts and heroines who aren't total idiots.

Wow. Just wow.

I'm not sure how I found this book, but I'm telling all my friends to read it!

A quick, short, perfect beach read, this book will keep your attention. I'm new to Ms. Rhys, but can't wait to read more from her.

Definitely a must read this summer!

Wow! This was available for free on Kindle Unlimited so I decided to take a chance and I'm soo glad I did! The chemistry sizzled off the page! And I say that about Lara and Jake as well as Lara and Jackson. Definitely drama packed every chapter and kept me on the edge of my seat. I finished in half a day! Can't wait for book two.

I was a bit worried in the beginning, because I was having trouble connecting with Lara, but that was silly. I should have realized that Ms. Rhys wouldn't lead me wrong.
This was just plain fun.
And that cliffy had me running immediately to book two 👍

I can't believe that this is the same author that wrote Ex Games.
This has got to be the most insipid book I've read this year. The characters were shallow and one dimensional
And quite honestly I just did not get the point of this book.

I didn't mean to read this one, it was added at the end of my copy of exgames, without me noticing and once I start reading a book I kind of have to finish. So. No. hated it. I'm going to read the second one, cause now I'm invested in the story and I have to know how it ends but god I hate it so soo much.

One: No brothers, please Stella Rhys, stop with having heroines fuck brothers! This is the second book of you that I have saw this and you are my first author to do it and, just please stop. (Or maybe don't if other readers enjoy it and I'll just have to research better before reading your books, that's on me!)

Two: Hated Lara. She is a pushover, seems stupid and honestly, the stepford girlfriend wasn't far off. She was annoying af.

Three: I can get maybe kind of behind sleeping with someone else, if like it was done in exgames the first relationship is over. Cheating is a biig turn off for me, so yeah. Should have probably done more research before reading this one.

If you are into cheating, abusive relationships (not the good relationship of course, the brother of her fiancé is peeerfect *eyeroll*), pushover female leads and a girl having sex with brothers, then this one is for you.

OOH no wait I forgot, the fiancé has also slept with his step sister. So... sorry but eww

Stella Rhys definitely has a knack for writing the hottest scenes. If you're looking for sexy reading then I'd recommend you this quick read. The story was good enough since it kept me wanting to read to the end just to see how all of the mess ends.

Gave this three stars, though, as I wasn't sold on most of the characters since they seem rather one dimensional. Lara, our main girl, is the hottest and most perfect girl in NYC who all of her male friends want to bang. Jackson, big hotshot manager, is the fiance of our heroine who hides a lot of skeletons in his closet. Jake, brother of Jackson, Mr.Perfect who comes back from his travels around the world and seems to be the prince who helps Lara get out of the deep shit she was in.

Fair warning you have to also read the second book Too Far Gone if you don't want to end with a cliffhanger.

OMG! OMG! OMG!! GRRRRR!!! Frustrated, mad, sad...too many emotions! UGH!
Arrggh!! I'm so damn furious!! Lara's fiancee Jackson is a low down dirty disgusting son of a bitch!!! I just want to scream!! In fact I actually did, several times. I'm so, just, UGH!! I feel so awful for her and I want to beat the daylights out of him!
Of course this ends on a cliffhanger but I can't get to part 2 fast enough! I want to cut that guy's balls off and shove them down his disgusting lying twisted throat!!!! He better get his in part 2 or I'm going to hunt Stella Rhys down and make her rewrite it how I think it should be! LOL!

In too deep

What can happen to go wrong does. Lara and Jackson look like the ideal couple. That is till she comes home and he is engrossed in watching a promo he made with someone else. Lara feels crushed it’s all downhill in this relationship especially after he tells her to get back on track for them he wants for her to cheat on him to make them even. That ends up bank firing on him big time

Jake and Lara

Cheating
Suspense/mystery
Ex fiancées brother

I don’t even know how to describe this but it was definitely a wild ride. I can’t even really pinpoint tropes here. But it was very entertaining and kept me wanting to read. I love this author and always enjoy her books. The weird thing is when I went to read the second part, it’s nowhere to be found. I had the first one in KU for a long time and it appears in that time, she had removed both parts of this book from everywhere.

So, I’m left with a cliffhanger to write my own ending.
