Dark Current Redemption is the perfect final book in this new series. The author wrapped up all of the loose ends, showed the final transformations of all of the main characters we’ve come to know and ended the story on a hopeful note for the future of the small town of Tidewell.
Lane is now the sheriff of Tidewell. She had hoped that the corruption brought about by the Old Guard in town was finally at an end but found out otherwise when she was shot. Lane is facing a divided town – some of the town is supportive of her and her plans but others are still aligned with the corruption that had ruled the town for generations. Along with trying to save her town, Lane is dealing with her father’s worsening dementia, a mother that has returned after years away and her pregnancy that everyone knows about but no one is sure which of two men is the baby daddy. Lane knows but continues to keep it a secret from him.
In reading the first books of the series, we learned how corrupt the town was. A small group of men has ruled the town for generations and involved people on all levels – law enforcement, judges and the rich people in town. Lane has made it her goal to wipe out the fear of the old guard in town by getting rid of the them but not only does her decision affect the people of Tidewell but it also puts a target on the backs of people she knows and loves and even Lane becomes a target. She has to not only put the law breakers in jail but she needs to confront the choices that she made in her past and forgive the people who betrayed her.
This is Ashley Farley’s first suspense series and she has proven to her readers that she can write in a new genre and be successful! Way to go!!! Can’t wait to read in whatever genre you write next

RIVETING REDEMPTION STORY!
Author Ashley Farley is releasing Dark Current Redemption, Book 4 of The Sutherlin Files, a riveting redemption story. I read it in one afternoon/night, even after taking a break for dinner and visiting with my new grandson! I could not wait to get back to finish reading this story and find out what was happening with these characters that Farley has made larger than life.
I was not disappointed. From start to finish, this is a compelling conclusion for this brilliant series. The battle for Tidewell – good vs. evil. This evil is not your everyday, normal, run-of-the-mill type of evil. This evil is Old Guard evil, which is generation upon generation evil, and it is getting worse. Sheriff Lane Sutherlin thought she knew all the evil players, but she discovered a woman has finally infiltrated the boys’ club. And this woman may prove to be the most evil player yet!
In the midst of trying to save Tidewell, Lane is dealing with her own issues. She’s pregnant, has two men in love with her, her father, the respected judge, is dealing with severe memory loss, her estranged Mother is moving back in, and over half of her law enforcement department abandoned their posts and gone to the dark side.

Ashley Farley has done it again my friends!! She has written another nail bitter for us. I read this in one sitting and refused to put it down. This entire series has consumed me for months on end because I just can't stop thinking about it.
The conclusion to Lane's story is perfect for readers who love an adrenaline rush and love an ending that requires a box of tissues. The hair on my arms were standing straight up for pretty much the entire book. The last 10% had me a sobbing mess.
Small town corruption is so prevalent for many of us who live in small towns. It's terrifying at times and some of us aren't lucky enough to have a Lane Sutherlin who refuses to back down from the cronies who continue to support those in power.

There are a lot of redeeming qualities in Sheriff Lane Sutherlin including her love of family and her town of Tidewell.
In this concluding book of the Tidewell series we read just how far she is willing to go to finally take back the town from the Old Guard and what it might cost her.
But there is joy too in this book, which made the reading and the conclusion perfect.

I could not wait for this book! Sadly I was pretty disappointed. There were no great aha moments or full circle things that uncovered the seedy underbelly of the town. All the bad guys had already been uncovered, with Alex and Waylon being complete red herrings. The bad sheriff’s niece (can’t recall her name) was one dimensional and just as much of a villain as her minimal sentences conveyed. First two were by far the best in the series.

I have loved Ashley’s books for many years. With every series, I think this is her best yet. Her stories just get better and better. This is an awesome series (as are her others). I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to keep up with all going on. Laughter, tears, new life, dementia, love, nail biting, crimes brought to light, and so much more. Can’t wait until her next book!

Holy cow, just when I think I've figured it out, Ashley swings for the fences! I'm not much of a mystery/crime reader, but this was amazing. Little bit of mystery, crime, drama and romance all tied together. Even though the Sanderlin Files are complete, I hope that Ashley continues to write this kind of material.

This is a story that took my breath from the beginning. Danger, suspense, and intrigue in every moment of the story. As usual Ashley can keep you guessing and reading past your bedtime. I recommend you read priors in series first ,but could be read as standalone. You may not understand a few things, but think you will enjoy anyway.

DARK CURRENT REDEMPTION is the fourth and final book in the gripping Sutherlin Files series by Ashley Farley. I enjoyed every book in the series and this last one expertly tied up all the loose ends and left me hopeful for the characters and future of the small town of Tidewell. In this story, Sheriff Lane Sutherlin continues her battle against the evil Old Guard and finds out that they have a member she never would have expected. Her hard work comes at a price – grave danger to herself, her unborn baby and all the people she loves. Secrets are revealed that shed light on how the situation in Tidewell came to be and its lasting impact on Lane. This story has everything – mystery, suspense, family drama, romance and a rousing fight against corruption and abuse of power. I highly recommend this book and the whole series. Thank you to the author for the chance to read and review an early copy.
