Ship of Fools is the fourth book in The Tales of Dan Coast series and begins where Coasts of Christmas Past left off. Find out how Dan deals with the death of a young friend, while looking into the disappearence of a new friend's sister. Join Dan, Red, and Skip as they fumble their way through a new mystery.
Continuing my binge reading Rodney Riesel-Dan Coast marathon with Ship of Fools. Think of it as Dan Coast in Jack Nicholson's role in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, but with a tropical flair, and add in Red's bar. And Skip too, dude.
The thing that I like best, or rather ONE of the things I like best about Riesel's writing is that you never know exactly what to expect next. It's not your garden variety formulaic writing. In fact, there IS NO formula, other than Dan's favorite libation of tequila, seven, and lime. I'm trying not to give anything away while really trying to encourage you to try this series. One bit of advice though, start with the first book so it all makes sense. They are much better when read in sequence than as 'stand alones.' Keep them coming, Rodney!
Less drinking more action surrounding an excellent plot. The author minimized the drinking and overshadowed it with stellar writing filled with clever one liners. Well done!!!!?
This book, one in a series by Rodney Riesel, is a fun book to read. The characters are almost realistic. The humor is in their sharp dialog. I like Rodney Riesel's writing style and the short chapters.
Just can't seem to get enough of Dan coast Mel red skip Maxine Just a big day Mel gets his revenge and drives his Ferrari back to the hospital all ends well Dan takes maxi e to the movies. Ciao fro the land of ours Vida Bobbie say wooooo.
Excellent! Very funny, hilarious banter between all the characters, a great plot well executed. Light entertainment at its best. I'm really looking forward to reading the next one. Awesome!
Another fun installment in the Dan Coast series. With the setting Dan is in this time (the nut house) I found this story even funnier than the others in the series. The story follows a similar pattern but the surprises keep coming. I think this might be the best of the series so far! If you’re looking for a mental trip to Key West pick this one up!
