A funny paranormal holiday short story from the author of The Grim Reaper’s Lawyer.
I’m having the worst year of my life.
Mostly because I keep on dying.
After accidentally (not entirely accidentally) rage-baiting a witch at last year’s halloween fest, I was hexed with a uniquely cruel curse to find the love of my life and achieve a soul-binding climax before the next Halloween or die permanently. Unfortunately, the curse is aggressively committed to quality control. Every time I get intimate with someone who is not my soulmate, I die.
The good news? I come back to life. Sometimes for minutes. Sometimes for hours. But I wake up naked, confused, and insanely hungry.
The bad news? Dying hurts, resurrection is deeply inconvenient, and I’m running out of time.
When my latest death lands me in the county morgue, I wake up on an autopsy table and accidentally headbutt the frustrating medical examiner moments before he cuts into me.
Once he reluctantly agrees to help find a way to free me of this curse, our search leads us through enchanted pumpkin patches, magical dive bars, chaotic coven meetings, and one deeply unfortunate séance involving a goat.
Somewhere along the way, I start falling for him.
Which is rude, honestly, because I’m very busy trying not to die before Halloween.
How To Hide a Body for Halloween is a spicy and chaotic romantic holiday short story for anyone who Childhood Friends to Strangers to Lovers and Grumpy/Grumpy.

If you’re looking for a spooky novella:
-witchcraft & Halloween vibes -best friendship -funny narration -character updates -44 pages -based in New Orleans -book 2 of an interconnected mini series
I love a book playlist. So, I was happy to see a song list to set the vibe. I enjoyed book 1 in December and rushed to read book 2 to kick off spooky season.
What happens when you piss off a witch on Halloween? Funny rebuttals & consequences. The FMC, Evie, had me laughing. The trio friend group is funny as a whole & individually and I loved that.
This was a fun, easy read with low stakes thrill and peak comedy.
Fun bit sized read. This easily could have been novella length based on the premise. I saw part of the ending coming, but not a bad thing since this was an extra short holiday read.
i really enjoyed this quick Halloween read… Evie don’t go around messing with no more witches in New Orleans but I’m excited about what’s next for the couple and friends
I really enjoyed this one! I loved the first book, so finding out this was actually a series and we’re going to get more from this friend group??? Yeah, I’m here for it. 😂
This was funny, cute, chaotic, and FAST. Like you can easily sit down and knock this out in one sitting. The whole concept of her literally dying every time she gets with somebody who is NOT her soulmate had me cracking up because girl??? 😭
I also really like that we’re getting different people from the friend group with each book because now I want to see how everybody is connected and how their stories play out.
And the spice? It did what it needed to do! 🌶️😂
Overall, just a really fun, quick read. Nothing too serious, nothing dragged, and I had a good time the entire way through. Definitely ready for the next one!
Now THIS was a fun little read! 😂 This was a quick, short, and hilarious story that was absolutely perfect for the Halloween season! I enjoyed every minute of it, and just when I thought I knew what was going on… BAM! That plot twist at the end caught me completely off guard! 🤣
I definitely didn’t see that coming, and I love when a book can surprise me like that!
If you’re looking for something quick, funny, and full of unexpected surprises to get you in the Halloween spirit, this is definitely one to pick up!
A curse that puts a time clock on finding your soulmate. Time is running out and Evie has one night and her medical examiner offered to help. I was laughing the entire read. It short and we learn a lot along the way. I wanted more (unfortunately) especially at the end. Oh there's a nod back to book 1.
Format: ebook Romance tag: open door CN: physical violence, blood, unprotected sex, animal sacrifice
With a mix of romance, magic, and humor this was a fun adventurous read!
With a mix of romance, magic, and humor this was a fun, adventurous Halloween short story that’s perfect to get you into the spirit of the holiday! Though I saw one of the twists coming, the other one had my jaw dropping! I just discovered this author today and I’m excited to dive into her other books!
This was the perfect super quick, funny romance. Instant banter and chemistry. The scenario is so simple but clever. Evie, the FMC, is sassy and surprisingly upbeat considering she's cursed to die. MMC, Rowan, is nerdy and yummy, especially in the bedroom. Perfect read to start the Halloween season.
If your looking for something cute, humorous with a hint of spice then this book is PERFECT for that mood. From the beginning I was thoroughly entertained 🤣🤣🤣 and the plot twist had me cackling and Rowan surprised me. I didn’t know how much of a dom-daddy he could be😝😝😝😝
Ohhh this was too cute and funny! Evie & Rowan went on a little adventure for Halloween and had a plot twist in the midst of it all. This definitely had me laughing while reading too which I enjoyed, because even though it was quick it had me tickled at the same time.
Absolutely loved this novella! It was so cute and spooky!
The friends-strangers-lovers was adorable, not to mention that when you just fall in step with someone it’s sweet. The plot twist at the end had me laughing. My kinda witch!
5⭐️ 3🌶️ This book is funny AF😂 seriously I was over here giggling to myself lol. Also it’s very short and sweet, perfect little quickie. Like no notes lol.
Oh my this was so dayum cute...taking childhood love to the next level! Quick read that is well developed and keeps a smile on your face while reading.
