Bulletproof #1

The Boy At The Back Of The Class

Rate this book
Tyler Madden was the screwed up kid.

He was a loner. Parents dumped him on a church doorstep when he was one. Hated life and everything in it. Had scars all over his chest. Was an undefeated legend in underground fighting. And he always sat at the back of class in the corner.

Alone.

Problem for him was that I was an extremely sociable person and made it my unnecessary mission to get him to become my friend. Though I didn't particularly expect to be dragged into a near life or death situation with him...

.my thoughts.
picking this book was a random thought in my head because on a Sunday morning, when you have test the another day, [it went bad btw] and you feel like it's better if you read a book rather than read a study book. so that's what I did.

I mean practically this book was good, but I think I expected a bit more than I got, like it was just so sudden, the mishaps and everything for me.

the writing style is easy to grasp here, and you get through everything perfectly, the author has done a great job really writing this book, the characters were well written, even though the ending was not I expected.

I mean did I expect it? no. but the way both the characters suffered in such a way, the way Franny did, and Tyler did, was not something I could believe myself. Tyler could still manage it well, while Franny....

she had a difficult time to grasp what she had been through, making me feel sad for her, and the way she was treated, because she literally saw someone shot.

''I gripped onto the thought that he would wait for me like I would wait for him.And that my boy at the back of the class would see me again as my heart was imprinted into his...just like his was imprinted into mine.''

This book was really good. The characters are funny and real, the story is very interesting and the ending is simply beautiful-not completely happy and not completely sad-perfect.The main character Franny is not the best student, but she's very funny and caring.I really liked how she handled the whole situation with her dad, that was very touching.Tyler is pretty cool,I didn't like him at the beginning because I'm not really a fan of the whole 'intense glaring and playing bad boy' thing, but he developed a lot and for the better,of course.

description

The story itself was actually very realistic,I love the little twists like ,they kept me turning pages. Also,Tyler's parents are the freaking best. The only character that I didn't really like was Tally. She's funny and a good friend, but for someone who is supposedly a genius she can be very irresponsible and...well,stupid.I just didn't understand her actions.

Would I recommend this book to young adult readers?

description

Favourite quotes:

''I'm going to ace this.''I whispered, pushing my nervousness away.''I studied trigonometry all last night.I know all this.''
Tally frowned and then her eyes widened.
''Franny...the test is on calculus.''
Fuck.

''I sighed and closed my eyes, thumping my head against the bookcase. You take biology? Oh yeah, Franny. What a great fucking pick-up line.''

''What the hell happened to you arm?''
He looked perplexed and followed my eyes to his arm to see the large bruise peeking out from his shirt. He grabbed the hem and yanked it down to hide the purple mark.
''Trust me.''He grunted and looked into my eyes with a cynical humor that I had never seen before.''It's nothing compared to what the other guy got.''

''This is coke.''Ethan rolled his eyes and frowned.
''Coke a cola?''

''We're going to...''Tally wiped a fake tear and murmured something about growing up so fast.''Make you a lady.''

''I smiled a little when I saw Tyler stood there, dark jeans and a white button down shirt.
God I hope it rained tonight.''

I started reading this book when it was still in the process of being finished and I absolutely loved it despite all its flaws. I was just emotionally attached to the characters and that's a big plus for me. They were so funny, relatable, and I wanted to be part of their group. My whole reading experience was just amazing.

I really liked the first half of the story! It was funny, and I find myself liking the main character a lot. But the problem for me with this story is that it was sort of poorly planned- the romance was fine, but when it came to the action, it sort of disappointed me. I was expecting more action and a lot of conflict with the whole Tyler and his fight club thingy.

The climax was totally not a climax at all- I didn't really get why any of it happened. It felt like it was just written just to save the lack of plot in the story. But okay, whatever. I get that it's only a first draft and I really do like Thalie Purvis because she has so much potential to be a great author!

I hope she takes the story down and edit it because it needs it. Really badly.

Love, Claudia.

I'm going to keep this short and simple. Tahlie Purvis has a knack for writing something different. Away from the cliché. She is especially good with troubled characters and this is one of those books.

But like I said, it's different from what you have ever read. So do try it out. The only problem with the book? It becomes a wee bit stretched at the end. So the appeal of the entire plot, sort of fades away.

Otherwise, its a good read.

I read this book on Wattpad, so already I wasn’t expecting Shakespeare. But I was still pleasantly surprised by this book!
Unlike a lot of wattpad books, it has an actual PLOT which was actually interesting and had a great end scene to it.
And then Franny and Tyler’s relationship seemed realistic enough - it had a good arc and the ending was really good, however sad it was.
It was pretty insta-lovy but I really couldn’t expect that much from this book. I went into it knowing it was going to feel like that.
And then Franny’s dad was a very complex character with flaws that he learned to work through and I loved how much he changed throughout the book because of his daughter. It was so nice to see and he wasn’t a flat character at all.
Overall, this was BETTER than a lot of Wattpad books I’ve read, so I commend the author for standing above all the rest with this book.

I love how the story unfolded. I was a little skeptical at the beginning of the book because I thought it will be just another good girl meets bad boy themed kind of story but I was glad I continued reading it because I loved how everything played out. I love that the pacing is just perfect and I love that you could get into the thoughts of both characters. I also loved how their love story was paced, it didn't just happen in one big blow but it had a steady development. I also loved that this did not have that over mushy cliche scenes that most books nowadays have. And the romantic scenes were not forced or anything. The ending is also something! This is a very nice read and it helped keep me awake at work. :)

I feel sad because this is such an underwhelming book. The beginning was great but the middle to end parts weren’t. This book mainly surrounds a mystery/action plot rather than romance, however the romance kinda stood in the middle of the way. I didn’t mind a love story between the main characters but I would’ve preferred if we were given sprinkles of it rather than spoonfuls. It just didn’t work out for the plot. Also, the buildup for the climax felt a little too anticlimactic. Even the climax itself ended sooner than I thought. And the last 3-4 chapters were so meh. The only thing that I really liked about this story was the writing. Not sure if I’ll read the second one.

I read it through Wattpad. It was the best Wattpad I had ever read. The sequel is discontinued until further notice, but that’s no reason to not read the first book! Truly amazing

2.75⭐️ Title was changed to ‘Bulletproof’.
I didn’t hate it but I’m hoping when the published version is out, it’s gonna be a lot better.

Tahlie Purvis in my opinion is an amazing writer and one of my favourite writers. She makes reading books way to easy and entertaining. Tahlie Purvis is just one of those writers that can inspire you to be a better person.

All thought she tends to change her mind about what she wants for her books it's what makes her human and for some reason I like that.

Even if she is writing a serious book she always finds a way to put a little humor in and it's on of the things that keep me reading her books religiously. Along with her gift to make her books realistic and non-cliche.

Whether Tahlie Purvis is writing about a girl getting revenge on her ex-boyfriends for making foul mouthed comments about her practically non-existent boobs or in this case a scared boy that sits at the back of the class, her books are guaranteed to give you the feels.

So my review for this book and every book Tahile Purvis will ever or has already written is 'read it'. Because you will fall in love with them just like I have with many before.

And I only give the highest of reviews to a writer like Tahile Purvis because she makes her books worth fan-girling about and you will never find a writer as committed and as amazing as Tahile Purvis. Because she is one of a kind.

Tyler Madden was the bad boy of the school, and he always sat at the back of the class. At age one he was dumped at the doorstep of a church. He's considered a loner at school, always going to underground fights with people much than him. But unfortunately for him Franny is quite a sociable person and wants everyone to be friends with her, even the underground fighter. As the two spend more and more time together (mostly Franny annoying the hell out of Tyler) secrets starts to unravel and Franny is forced to make life or death decision.

I finished the book because I really enjoyed this book. I also really want to find out if Franny and Tyler would be more than friends.

I chose this book because the cover really intrigued me, it was dark and mysterious.

I recommend this book to Salvina because she loves humor and adventure (probably from her manga obsession).

Words cannot describe this book... Its so cute!
Fryler (shipped name) they are like.. Wow. Adorable!!

Franny is a whiney foul mouthed girl that literally overthinks everything!! But at least she think and cares unlike her best friend Tally.
Tally is an amazing character she has no filter to her mouth.... All honesty.. She is crazy.
Ethan is just an average male character, slightly crazy, gets into fights blah blah blah not much to say.
But Tyler... How can a guy with so much anger be so nice all the time?? But, come on #Fryler was inevitable.

Anyways... Brilliantly written with so much emotion and love.. Literally and an ending that made me feel like eating ice cream for an hour, though still some cliche moments... So 4 stars and a definite read!b

This book not only has a good plot, but it is also beautifully written. Like- not even kidding- I'm pretty sure her writing has magical powers that mess with your heart.
It made my heart skip a beat, it made me laugh, it made me cry (it reminded me that the only love I will ever have is wifi... that rhymed).
And it was not one of those over used plots that you find on almost every bad boy romance book.
It is probably tied for my favorite online story, and I am so excited to see what's in store for the couple in the sequel "Where They Went" on wattpad. :)

B@BOC is a really good story !
You instantly fall in love with the characters. You want them to find that happiness they've been lacking of and looking for, for many years. You want them to stop feeling so alone and shattered. And you want them to be together, to be each other's savior somehow.
If you hesitate reading that book, please don't ! It's really good and I've had a great time reading it. It made me laugh, cry, think about my own life, dream, smile,... all the emotions that are for me necessary when I read a good book !

this book was just AMAZING

so much emotions, I laughed, anddddd cried!
I could read this book again and again and again and never get bored!

The main character (Francesca) is not the typical girly girl you would think of. She has a well realistic touch to her. She's awkward, has a good sense of humour, and is a nerd. She doesn't have much friends besides her best friend Tally, who is bisexual.
I find each character incredibly relatable.

I had a lot of fun reading this book and recommend it for all cheesy fanatics.

God bless you, Purvis. Really. This book, is so amazing, I couldn't handle it. People call it cliché, but hey, that's what we're into. And I can't even talk about the sequel. I was shaking. Shaking while reading it. And my heart was beating so fast, it was a miracle it didn't have an arrest. Love it. Totally heartbreaking.

I seriously loved it from the start! I fell in love with the characters. The book is really well written, you have written it like a very experienced writer. You have a great sense in where the plot line will go, there were so many places in the book that caught me by surprise! I'm reading the next book and am looking forward for all the updates to come!

First, it was cliché. But somehow, throughout the story this story had been something else. And the end is symbolizes such a truth. All the stories always grasped the beauty of teenage love but they never grasped the reality of it all when it came to moving on, heading to college and university. And this book does. Now, wanna read the second book and hoping they will end together :(

This is officially one of my favorite book!! I absolutely loved it and I laughed my way from beginning to end. It made me cry and laugh of course. This has to be one of the best books I've read because of the ending. It's not a depressing ending. It doesn't leave you hanging and it doesnt leave you mad. All it does is leave you wanting more!!! I'm currently reading the sequel.

Really liked the whole story, and the plot was just great. However I found myself a little disappointed by the ending. With all that they had gone through, I felt that they deserved something better than given, even if that something was handed in the non-existent epilogue. :/

This book was pretty good and the characters are great! I wish Tally had more character development than she did but the rest was alright. The writing could improve (everyone's can) and it wasn't the best book I've ever read but it was good.
