Do You Mind?: Theology + Therapy

Discover how to break free from anxious thoughts, emotional pain, and unhealthy patterns, and build a healthier mind grounded in truth.

You can pray every day and still feel anxious. You can love God and still struggle with depression. You can have strong faith and still need help.

For many believers, these struggles are real but rarely addressed. Christian mental health has often been misunderstood. Anxiety was dismissed. Depression was labeled as spiritual weakness. Pain was hidden behind pressure to “just have more faith.”

Not anymore.

In Do You Mind?, Dr. Tim Rivers offers a clear and compassionate guide to renewing your mind through Scripture while facing real emotional challenges. With biblical insight and practical wisdom, he explores how spiritual growth and emotional health work together, offering a grounded approach to integrating faith and therapy.

Good read for people specifically with “church hurt” and depression. This book focuses on a complete wholeness in Christ using mind, body, and soul - with emphasis on the mind.
I don’t particularly have church hurt (or depression for that matter….maybe) so that’s why I took me awhile to read this book.
This book does have funny points and is less of an academic read. There’s lots of scripture references as well.
