With only a week left in their last apartment, the broke best friends hatch a bold get-rich enthrall a billionaire. With Sylvia's charm, Aster's raw strength, and a dash of vampiric hypnosis, the plan should be foolproof.
Then Sylvia bites Aster.
It's meant to be a joke, a fleeting thrill between lifelong companions. But instead, the bite awakens an ancient bond reserved for soulmates, forcing them to face feelings they've spent centuries denying.
I was absolutely enthralled by this audiobook. This sapphic vampire slow burn follows a 600-year friendship that gradually turns into love—or maybe it was always love.
The banter between the characters gave me major Gilmore Girls vibes with a Laura Graham reference in the book: quick-witted, funny, and endlessly entertaining. I loved that they’re unapologetically homicidal vampires who only seem to care about each other. The pining was exquisite and had me constantly thinking, “Just confess already!” Characters had nice emotional growth and had a chefs kiss HEA.
The spice scenes were well worth the wait. Erin Bateman’s narration was fantastic, with distinct character voices and great emotional delivery. I can’t wait for the next book in the series and hope it gets an audiobook too.
