Sophie Katz, a Jewish chemistry student, harrowingly escapes a Nazi concentration camp. By way of Prague and with the help of a golem and a magic stone, she is transported into the Tenth Realm, a magical dimension that parallels the world she left behind.
Logan MacLeod, a Scottish warrior, hunted for a crime he did not mean to commit, flees to the Bestiary, a forest so dangerous no man dares enter. Drawn by the haunting sound of his bagpipes, Sophie and Logan meet.
Even as love ensues, the dark evil of the Third Reich threatens the Tenth Realm, led by Gustaf Hissler, Adolph Hitler’s doppelganger.
Together they must join the forces against Hissler in the Tenth Realm and help stop Hitler from world domination in Sophie’s realm. Will they be able to stop the Third Reich before its evil conquers all of the realms?

The horrors and depravity the Jews lived through under Hitler are mirrored in a parallel realm, filled with monsters, magic, shifters and more and it is just as great of a nightmare, except for one person who has known both realms. A young Jew is taken through a magic portal to save her from death or torture in the concentration camps. Sophie is a young chemistry student who escapes into the tenth realm with the aid of Jewish Kabbalah magic, a golem and a stone where she carves out her own place as an alchemist. She enters this new world in the land called the Bestiary, a forest filled with danger.
Logan is a Scottish warrior, hiding away for a crime he did not commit. Is it Fate that brings these two together? Are they destined to end the terror-filled reign of this world’s own Hitler, called Hissler? Will they bring the different races in this world together to rise up against this madman or will they be tasked with so much more?
The Stone of the Tenth Realm by Eva Gordon is pure brilliance as she deftly integrates reality and fantasy while showing respect to the Jewish faith and the torment these people endured. Religious beliefs or magic and fantasy magic are blended with care as each world’s fight to save the innocents from evil. Characters filled with life, actions ranging from loving to vile and a plot that will rivet you to each page, the parallels may be magical, but the emotion and the fight feels real. Dark hearts, dark magic, and twisted minds are a mighty force that only good can conquer and Eva Gordon’s talents will be imprinted on your minds.

WOW, just WOW! This is book one in a three book series and let me tell you, I was amazed... I took this book as a pre-release honest review for Eva Gordon . I started this book thinking it would be like most Fantasy Novels I have read in the past. Let me just say, I was dead wrong, this book is so much more then the typical Fantasy Novel; it is filled with Fact and Fiction, Mythology and Fantasy, & Action and Adventure. I was drawn in by Sophie's journey through the Nazi concentration camp and into the Tenth Realm. Sophie, our strong heroin, must over come some harsh and, violent obstacles to save the lives of many in her realm and the Tenth Realm. There is Romance, True Friendships, and Life Bonds created within these pages. I absolutely loved the author's ability to bring these pages to life for me with such clear detail of each and every event. I highly recommend this book to all avid readers, as I know it will open a new world of Fantasy and Adventure for everyone who reads it. I will not give a lot of detail on the story itself, as I think you would enjoy it so much more by experiencing it first hand. I will say however this book will fore-fill your Magical Creatures and people needs as well as, any evil and villainous needs you may have . It is packed full of Action, Adventure, and battles; not to mention the plot twist and turns you crave. I truly am looking forward to reading Book two of this amazing series by Eva Gordon!!!

This is the first book in a new trilogy that promises to be really good. This is also my first Eva Gordon book. I wasn't really thinking positively about this book when I started it because Holocaust stories depress me. Then the magic happened. This book is cross-genre it is not just PNR but epic fantasy as well. I loved how the story meshed Jewish Kabbalah magic with fantasy magic. It has everything, a female heroine who is a science major turned alchemist and a Scottish Lord turned werewolf, plus a myriad of awesome fantasy characters who make this story enchanting. There's evil, good, magic, religion, hate, fear, loss and just about all the emotions you can think of. There is also a hell of a lot of battle type action and a lasting love story. Great work Eva Gordon. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
An interesting and magical take on the Jews and Nazi. To be honest it took me awhile to get into this story. There were points where I stopped reading because of how unbelievable some of the things were not because it was fantasy or paranormal, but because of some of the characters actions or words. I hope that makes sense. It took some getting used to. In the end, it turned out to be a good story. I liked the idea of parallel realms and how they all affected each other. This book kind of reminded me of Margaret Taylor's Dragons, Griffons, Shifters, Oh My. If you enjoyed this story then you should definitely check out Ms. Taylor's series and vice versa.
This is a very entertaining story full of adventure, magic and sweet romance. I enjoy it from the first to the last page. The one star I put down is just because sometimes Sophie acted like a dumb, putting her and all those around her in dire danger... And this happened not just once but several times! But no matter that, I fully recommend this series to everyone that love fantasy books.
This had such good reviews and I really liked the synopsis. But I couldn’t get into it, the characters, the world she was trying to build... maybe it gets better? I only made it to chapter 18. There are other books I’d rather read...ones that get and hold my attention right away.
Great fantasy with an historical bent. Totally loved this book with the well developed characters and worlds. If you like fantasy and history, you'll love this book!
Un fantasy decisamente diverso, almeno all'inizio, dagli altri.
Total magic from start to finish! Eva Gordon has woven an epic tale out of one of the bleakest times in Earth's history; bleeding it over into happenings in a parallel realm, added sorcery and magic, and, of course, love, creating an absolutely awe-inspiring reading experience. With over 400 pages of war, danger, adventure and most of the magical creatures we've all heard about, you would think that it would be boring somewhere in there, wouldn't you? Nope. I never once drifted away from the story and, when I had to put it down, I was eager to get back to it. A strong testament indeed to wonderful Ms. Gordon's storytelling abilities. Sophie Katz magically escapes from a concentration camp on earth and is whisked away into the Tenth Realm, where magic rules. She lands in the Beastiary, a dangerous forest where, if found, she would be executed. Firmly grounded in science, Sophie struggles to understand this strange world she's ended up in, but meeting sexy werewolf Logan early on definitely helps. As Logan and Sophie draw closer, so does the danger, and not only to themselves. The Guild of the Golden Rose uses dark magic and, indeed, wants to capture all the magic for themselves, brutally stamping out any dissension. When their whereabouts is discovered, they decide to leave the Beastiary and head for the Free Provinces, where the Guild has not managed to establish themselves yet. As they all know a great battle is coming, Logan decides to join their army and is not a happy camper when Sophie decides to join also. The conflicts are stark and imaginatively done. I wish I could do justice to this fantastic tale of how the parallel realms are converging and what needs to be done to stop this, but I fear I don't have anywhere near Eva Gordon's imagination. So just let me say, The Stone of the Tenth Realm was an exceedingly well-written novel. The characters were well-fleshed out. The plot...well, I just don't know what to say...except it was freaking amazing. Two huge thumbs-up for the golems, loved them. This one's a keeper. (Gifted an ARC for independent review)
Ever since I got hooked into the Indie publishing/Author world, I let my love of a true fantasy go by the wayside. I have found so many books to love and been able to engage in one on one conversations with the authors that have written them. This is how I found Eva Gordon. I believe I won an ebook from her at a party and chose Apocalyptic Moon. After reading this, I was hooked. When I found out she was looking for people to beta read for her, I jumped in. Stone of the Tenth Realm is the book that has brought me back to my reading roots. Parallel worlds have been explored by many authors such as Piers Anthony, JK Rowling, C. S. Lewis and countless others. Eva Gordon can be put right up there with them. Sophie Katz is a young women caught up in WW2. She is surviving in a concentration camp experiencing horrors no one should see. One night she is visited by her grandfather who has already passed away. Sophie thinks it is a dream, but it isn't. Through magic, her grandfather is able to take her away from the camp. She is told to find the golem and he will help protect her. When the Nazi are close to finding her, she uses a magic stone and is transported to the Tenth Realm. This world has many of the same characteristics as our world, but there are also wonderful creatures and beautiful lands. Sophie soon learns that in this world, she possesses magic. As in the world she left behind, she soon finds that she must hide from those that would hurt her. She meets Logan MacLeod, a skilled huntsman also hiding away. Sophie soon learns of the forces working to control the Tenth Realm that parallel the Third Reich. The parallel doesn't end there though, the leader, Gustaf Hissler, appears to be the doppleganger of Adolf Hitler and just as evil. It is going to take all of the creatures and people working together to stop Hissler from taking total control, and Sophie may just be the key to stop him or help him win.
Eva Gordon begins her story about Sophie Katz in the sad and horrendous conditions of a concentration camp in Nazi Germany. Although not a religious woman, she and her parents have been selected for imprisonment and extermination because of the Jewish blood in their veins. Although her individual story is fictional, it is rooted in dismal fact.
Through the help of her very spiritual, Kabbalist grandfather and a Golem, Sophie is permitted to escape to another realm, one which she chose mistakenly and full of magic and ultimately love.
This new realm disturbingly parallels the land she escaped from - this one is also filled with magic and fantasy creatures that make even the most secular want to believe.
Sophie and her Druid, Werewolf husband join forces with soldiers of the Free Provinces to defeat the evil with heartwrenching losses along the way. Ms. Gordon tells the story in a most captivating way and makes it difficult for the reader to put the book down.
Whether it is extensive research or just Eva Gordon's talented writing ability, she manages to successfully combine brutal history with paranormal fantasy in a way that respects authenticity as well as entertains.
A Captivating Fantasy! This is my first read from this author, but after reading this book, I am looking forward to reading more of her books. This story is the perfect blend of fantasy and paranormal. Sophie Katz our main character begins her story as a Jewish girl in a Nazi concentration camp. One night she dreams of her grandfather who has passed away, but it isn't a dream! Her grandfather is able to magically spirit her away, she eventually ends up in a kind of paralell universe, the tenth realm. The tenth realm has both many similarities to owe own reality, as well as total opposite features. Even though it is a magical, beautiful land with fantastic creatures, Sophie soon finds out that the evil she left behind exists in this reality too. Sophia meets up with a Scottish wolf-shifter named Logan. They come together to fight the darkness and evil that abounds. This book is do exciting, it has action, adventure, mythical creatures, fantasy, and some real history. I was unable to pull myself away. I just loved it. I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was given a complimentary copy by author Eva Gordon for an honest review. This is book 1 of The Realms Trilogy by the author.
Sophie is trying to survive in the Nazi camp but when she is given help to escape she goes to a new realm where magic and their beings are living. With the help of Logan she starts a new journey into a new life but things do not go smoothly and there are more dangers out there.
This is another hit by the author and I can't say anything bad about the story at all. Each book keeps getting better.
This is a must for any paranormal book reader. Magic, werewolves, goblins and more and what await you in the pages of this book.
The author takes Sophie a twenty something Jew in a concentration camp and sends her to a different dimension .However Sophie finds that evil is also here. A powerful Sorcerer named Hissler a doppelganger for Hitler.
Sophie a chemistry student before the camp is an Alchemist here, a very powerful one. She is befriended by a raven (a Sorceress turned into a bird) and then by a wolf that protects her from his pack and takes her to a cottage in the woods. The wolf turns into a Scotsman cursed to be a werewolf.
After meeting many magical creatures and fighting the war Evil of course is banished in both dimensions. How is well worth the read!!!!!!!
What an astonishing book about paralell universes. I have never read this author and her writting is riviting. This is a book about dark majic trying to take over two realms and a young girl Sophie that was saved from a prison camp and sent to the tenth realm by her grandfather. What a unique story about two different realm that are total opposites and both have some simularities. Logan is a shifter in the tenth realm and together he and Sophie join forces with others to fight against the guild. This is a must read and I look forward to reading more from Eva Gordon
What a great read. Sophie's story starts in a concentration camp and transitions into an alternate world where magic exists. I loved the seamless transition and the tone of the book changed slightly from the darkness of the concentration camp and the escape. It was great how there were similar issues in evil on both universes and how fixing the one with Hitler fixed the other. Great read.
I was given this book by the author for an honest review in my own words. I was not compensated in any way.
This is the first book I’ve read by Eva Gordon and it will not be the last. I thought Sophie’s story was well written, a nice steady pace and great detail.
What I loved about this story is that it had a mix of different things going on that are not typically found together…a little bit of history/religion storytelling that I’m not familiar with, a little bit of highlander paranormal romance, a bit of folklore with parallel worlds and fantasy.
A different kind of fantasy story that is full of surprises....can't wait to see what happens next!
What a great read! The beginning can be difficult, but when speaking on the tragedy of the holocaust it's going to be. Sophie has a chance to escape...but to another dimension. No matter what dangers she faces, she takes the chance...& finds true love & helps defeat evil. I love all the different characters and how they come together to help Sophie defeat Hissler and his minions. Fairies, wolves, druids, sorcerers, and more are in this book and will keep you captivated from start to finish.
Sophie is in a concentration camp, when she is visited by her grandfather with tales of escape too crazy to believe. When things actually start to happen, she is transported to the Tenth Realm, and away from the Natzis. She meets and falls in love with a werewolf shifter, but as she learns more about her new home, it seems that she has escaped one evil only to face another.
