While admiring roses in a small village in the Cotswolds, Dan meets Martin Saint John. Martin, still fit and attractive at seventy, has also lost his partner, and now spends his time growing roses, meeting friends in the pub, and going to church on Sundays, content with his quiet life. Coffee, Pop, and Bisexuality by Nicole McCormick When a stranger runs into Douglas, makes him spill his coffee, and offers to buy him another one, Douglas thinks that’s all it will be. Even though the man is gorgeous. Even though his daughter has other plans. Turns out, the stranger, Anthony, has other plans as well, and Douglas soon agrees to go to a movie with Anthony. It’s absolutely not a date. Douglas has slept with men, sure, but he isn’t gay. Or bisexual. No matter what Anthony says.
However, a late night and a frank conversation with his daughter’s best friend leaves Douglas with a different opinion. Not that he plans on letting Anthony know he considers it a date. It’s too much fun to wind Anthony up. After one not-so-perfect date, Douglas thinks maybe if he keeps Anthony around, turning fifty won’t be so bad.

Yes, I know. Every year it's the same - while reading these DD stories I say to myself, this was the last time I bought this stuff. And then, next year, do I remember that? Nope, I buy it again. This year at least I'm thinking about it. For now. I still have a week to decide. But I think I already know what the outcome will be.
June 21, 2015: Dear authors! It's nice that so many of your MCs have a pet. But does it always have to be a cat? How about a bit of variety? Look at what wikipedia says:
The most popular pets are likely dogs and cats, but people also keep house rabbits, ferrets; rodents such as gerbils, hamsters, chinchillas, fancy rats, and guinea pigs; avian pets, such as canaries, parakeets, and parrots; reptile pets, such as turtles, lizards and snakes; aquatic pets, such as tropical fish and frogs; and arthropod pets, such as tarantulas and hermit crabs.
How about one of those???
June 25, 2015: Sorry, authors of paranormal/fantasy/history/sci-fi stories, but with all the nice dritc stories, I just decided to stick to contemporary DD ones. It's totally me, not you.
July 2, 2015: So, I'm done for now with this year's DD. My average rating is 3 stars, although my overall feeling is more like 4 stars. I liked the topic of age gap, around which the individual stories were written, more like topics from previous years. On the other hand several authors put too much emphasis on the age differences. I think after this year's experience I'm pretty sure that I'll buy next year's DD again.
The theme for this year were older men, a lot of them were about my age so I really enjoyed this anthology. What I love about the daily dose is the variety that you can find in the 30 stories : different take on the theme, different sub-genres, different authors; I also like when I discover new authors or rediscover old favourites. I got a little tired of the big difference of age and remorse attached to it, I would have liked more old age men in the shorts... middle-age is fun, but when I think of "Never too late" I was expecting a lot more 60s, 70s and, even, 80s! I got a little behind and so I still have 5 more stories to read even though the month is over, but I'll keep them for when I have a sudden craving. A very good anthology, can't wait for next year and the next theme...
This is a wonderful collection of short stories and novellas with the theme of a May/December romance. Most of them are in contemporary settings, but there is the odd historical, fantasy, science fiction, and paranormal tale to be found. They range from charming to interesting, and from sweet to scorching hot.
My reviews can be found with the individual stories.
