Beau
I am Beau Evans, God’s gift to women and I damn well know it. I am fearless. I would rather be working as the homicide detective in Dallas, Texas than anywhere else. I’m the crazy bastard they call in when no one else wants to go. I’ve seen things that would cause others to commit themselves to mental hospitals.
I look damn good; thanks to all the time I spend in the gym and the good genes I was blessed with. I screw who I want, when I want, how I want. I call the shots and wouldn’t have it any other way. I live for me and no one else. I am my own man and do not answer to anyone but myself. I live by these rules and no one will change that.
That is what I had convinced myself of anyway, until I met Piper Dylan. She drives me insane in every way possible. Everything about her annoys me and turns me on at the same time. She has absolutely no interest in me whatsoever. The more she pulls away and resists me the more I want her.
My life starts to become unrecognizable and is spinning out of control. I, Beau Evans am becoming something I never wanted and always swore I would never become. I begin fighting for something I am not sure I completely want. Do I walk away for the second time in my life or decide maybe, just maybe, it’s not all about me any longer?

Beau was the most cocky, arrogant, s.o.b. that ever walked between the pages of a novel. But in this story, we get to see a softer side, a more human side and it's all due to a female investigator that is his equal in every way. She dished out to him the same garbage he has always dished to others. Enjoyed this short story. Never read anything like it. Ms. Taylor tells a good story, holds your interest, even injects a little emotion into it. I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Five Stars.

Another great book from Brooklyn Taylor, she takes you in with her characters.
Beau has been fired from Boston for his previous actions. Beau has a complex issue that all women will fall for his charm and will love it. When he moves back to Dallas and he meets with Piper. Piper does not want anything to do with Beau. What will Piper do to get the cocky attitude out Beau? Will he finally discover what it is that pulls him in?
This is a must read story and with a great twist you will not want to miss

Well Beau knows he is a ladies man and the best at his job so he thinks. Why he gets into some trouble at his first job then moves to Boston and gets fired for what he did previously. He has sex when he wants with who he wants and doesn't care who he hurts such ad Kori who wanted more than what he was willing to give. So he walks away from her and their unborn child. He goes back to Dallas and ends up on their P.D. And in walks Piper someone he thinks he knows but isn't sure. Well she gives him a run for is money at solving cases. So they set out to out do the other one, will these two come to some understanding and learn to get along? Will Beau eventually figure out who she is? Will he come to love a woman that he swore he would never do. This was a great written short story of one arrogant man and one determined woman.

A solid four star read with Beau finally getting his time to shine. Beau is a cocky police officer who believes he is above everyone around him and women will drop to their knees at the sight of him. His past actions have finally come back to haunt him and he is forced to make touch decisions. In his new positing at Dallas Metro, Beau is thrown headfirst into meeting a detective that appears to possess the ability to finally tame the beast. Beau was a quick read and a wonderful way to round out the Forever series. There is a surprise twist at the end that you will not see coming. Thank you Brooklyn for another amazing story and giving Beau his voice and time in the limelight!

We’ve all met Beau before. Somewhere in your travels, our lifetimes or even in a story here and there. He’s a no nonsense kind of guy. He not only will tell you he’s the best, but he believes deep down to his oh so sexy nippy toes to his somewhat misogynistic brain! Yes, he does insist he is a gift to women from the heavens above and gives as good as he gets. As a Detective that enormous ego magnifies in regards to his abilities. It gives him the excuse to work alone.
Sadly, his disregard for others will bite him in that tight, pinch-able bum of his! He pushes away those who care, and creates self destruction in the aftermath. His questionable tactics of life come back to haunt him and he’s forced to make some hard decisions and face not only reality, but consequences. It’s always easier to blame miseries on something or someone else. Yet, another characteristic Beau has an abundance of!
He meets his match in a feisty, sexy, hot to trot, bad ass chick! It’s interesting what sets him hooked on her! What will come of this match? How much time will go by before the inevitable shattering of their worlds happens? Are they too much alike to make anything work? I know you’re anxious to find out!
I enjoyed this super quick read full of hot steamy chaos and a simple twist to tug your heartstrings a bit!
Positives:
Super quick read with a decent balance of good, bad, sexiness and crime.
Negatives:
I wanted to just kick Beau in his giblets a few times. Which can go negative or positive.
It bothered me the times where he drove intoxicated in the book. Or it was alluded to it!

He sleeps with who he wants, when he wants and does not care about the consequences. When Beau's past caches up with him, he moves back to Dallas where he meets Piper. Piper is feisty, confident, great at her job and, most importantly, has no interest in Beau. But Piper makes Beau wants things that he swore he never would.
Has Beau finally met his match?
Will he figure out who Piper really is?
Can Beau and Piper find their HEA?
Beau was a quick, enjoyable read with a hero that you initially love to hate. When Piper comes into Beau's life, however, you get to see Beau's softer side and you cannot help but route for him. With its interesting storyline that had me hooked and a twist that I did not see coming, I devoured Beau in one sitting. This short romantic read is definitely worth picking up.

Beau is the ass you love to hate and hate to love. After reading the Forever series I was prepared to loathe Beau. His arrogant and cocky ways pulled you in wondering if he would ever have a happy ending. It's not until he meets Piper does he find his match. Loved it from the beginning to end. Excellent job!

I'm not gonna lie .. I thought this story had so much potential, but sadly I found myself wanting more. It felt rushed and in my opinion, could've been a phenomenal read if it would've had more build up, more storyline, just more. I'm glad it was a KU read rather than paying for this.
