This was a pretty good debut book.

We have our characters Zena and Dmitri “Danger” who met many years ago when Zena sang her heart out while working a dead end job to make ends meet. They briefly interacted but they both left lasting impressions on each other. Over the years they reunited when Zena is contemplating on giving her singing dreams another shot.

The book itself is very well written. I didn’t notice any sort of spelling errors or any inconsistencies when it came to the characters. While I did like the story. There were a few things that fell a little flat to me as a reader.

One of those things was the chemistry between the characters. I loved how Danger wanted Xena to thrive with her music and I felt that. I however struggled a little bit when it came to them having that romantic chemistry. I truly think that these characters needed to spend a little bit more time together in order to convey it for me. I do, however, appreciate the back stories that we got of these characters to get to the point of them being together. Another thing for me was just the timeline of things. I believe we did a time jump but there wasn’t a note of it, if there was I must’ve missed it.

Overall this was a good debut novel and this author definitely has a long career ahead of her. I would tell people to add this to their TBR’s.

You know, for a debut novel, J. Lexington hit a home run with this one! This story draws you in and takes you on a journey of discovering true love over a 7-year time span following the intertwined lives of Zena and Danger. Zena almost had me in the first half 😩, but I am so glad that she eventually saw through the smoke and mirrors of the industry and followed a path that was true to her. And Danger? He also had some healing to do and ironically Zena pushed him towards the finish line. They both needed each other in different ways and the anchor that held them was the cosmic connection that couldn’t be broken between them. If you want something that will make you feel ALL the feelings (and I do mean all of them 🥴) this is the book to read!

this love story was amazing

When your dream is used to flip your whole world upside down but you find a way to carry on without it. But you run in danger and it’s getting getting impossible by ignore. But of course the ghost if the past always has to come shake up everything. When real love, and intention meets hidden secret and unhealed grief.But the hear wants what the heart want this was beautifully written when I say I felt every emotional breakpoint and build up I was right there with the characters the plot was amazing the author did a beautiful job with this story if I could give 6 stars I would

Chileeeeee the way Zena had me screaming at my phone was still worth it in some cases. Watching Zena go through her journey was rough,I just wanted to jump in the book to save her or just hug her. HATED how no one gave a shit about her UGH.

When it came to Danger I was actually a little scared on how he was going to get my girl. I love that you took the time to not letting Zena be so consumed with danger when they first meet. Did it piss me off YES. But it was needed to see the realism on how relationships can move. I’m impressed but this to be a debut novel. I hope to see more.

Finished this book in 1 day. It was a great debut book. Some parts in the main characters love story felt like I was missing chapters with the progression of it, but overall it was a great read. I knew from the beginning I didn’t like Tate and Zena was making my head hurt with how naive she was but it’s also realistic because she was young. I was happy she got it together lol. Loved me some Danger. This book was really good in showing how the music industry could be as well. I definitely suggest picking this book up and giving it a chance. Can’t wait to read more from this author and see how her career progresses

Amazing!

My first read and I was so immersed into the story. Reading Zena's trauma was so heartbreaking but my heart was full when she and Danger found their way to one another. Amari was such an amazing friend, I truly enjoyed the beautiful bond between her and Zena. This story was so amazing and I can't wait to read more from this author!
