One man has never been far from her thoughts – Kade McMillian, but his return to town after far too many years of chasing his dreams couldn’t be more poorly timed.
With a younger man demanding Rebecca attention at the office, she has to decide between reconstructing a relationship from her past or diving in deep to something new and seemingly forbidden.

I decided to write one review for the entire series of Baited by Ali Parker. The series consist of three, very short, parts involving the same story/characters. I am not sure as to why it was broken down in three parts. I read the entire series in about 90 minutes so even together it is a very short read.
Baited is the story Becca, a late 30 something year-old owner of a company. She has put her career before anything else and is very successful at what she does. Part of the reason she does so is because of the guy who broke her heart from high school many years ago. Kade & Becca were best friends but as soon as they started to become more Kade took off to California and she never saw him again. Ever since no man can come close to Kade so Becca focuses on work. Becca begins to date a young 20-something from her office, Jason. He is extremely into her and she wants to be into him but the age thing makes her a bit nervous. This is when Kade comes back in to the picture and Becca needs to decide who she wants.
Though the book has a really great set up for great romance novel it fell a little flat to me. Kade is this guy Becca has been thinking about for years, yet he is in like three scenes total in the book. He was all mystery and I have no idea what he was like. I knew right away who Becca would chose with how the story going. There was no suspense. Kade's character needed to be more developed. I think the problem is the book was simply too short. I enjoyed the idea of the book and Ali Parker is making her way into becoming a great author but there just wasn't enough story or depth to the characters to give the reader much of anything.
With that said, I really hope this series can be retouched and given more depth because I really enjoyed the synopsis and the idea of it. There wasn't really a love triangle either and that left me disappointed. I would definitely reread this again if changes were made.

Interesting start! Rebecca is a very successful business woman. Owning her own business with her best friend Parker. She has everything but a love life. She worked so hard on her firm that her love life has taken a back seat.
She is struggling with the attraction she has for one of her younger employees Jason but he is way to young. He is 22 and she is 34. That's twelve years. There is no way she is getting involved with a baby and the way she still thinks about Kade.
Kade is her best friend from High school. She was totally in Love with him but their relationship was never more then a few kisses. He went off to bigger things and she went her own way. He left her with not even a thought. How could he do that? 16 years she hasn't seen him. He is probably married and with kids but that doesn't stop her from wondering where he is and what he looks like now older.
One night at the bar she and parker eating and discussing his marriage. They run into Jason. after a few "moments", She needs out of there before she makes a huge mistake and then she thinks she sees Kade. Was that her imagination or was it really him? or could she have a relationship with Jason?
This book is the first in a short story series. It draws you in because the situations are real life issues and the characters you can relate to. I recommend for everyone. excellent book.

And then there's Jason, her younger colleague, way younger than her for about 12 years. He's got the looks, the determination and yes, the body, too. But still, he's too young for her... Or is he?
This had been an interestingly awesome short story. The first in a 3-part serial, and already it has me hooked! I would gladly read book 2 immediately, because I can't wait to see and read who Rebecca would choose. The author sure knows how to keep the dice rolling!

BAITED is a series by Ali Parker, told in serial, cliffhanger format, very fast-paced and fast-reading. Rebecca Martin is a wealthy, hard-charging professional in Houston's driving economy. Partner in an accounting/marketing firm, she is single, mid-thirties, and although she looks for marriage and family in her (far) future, meanwhile she is narrow-minded about her standards of taste. Still pining for a lost never-was love, she quite literally pushes aside all other possibilities while primarily focusing on her business endeavours. On an evening when her business partner confesses to personal misery, and an employee gets personal, Rebecca thinks she spots the one she's spent 16 years yearning for--but did she?

Ok wow first of all! I started this book not but a few hours ago and just finished! This is a quick read and introduces us to Rebecca Martin our main character now passing 30 years old and has by far surpassed her goals of having a lovely home built and nice car and only missing a man to love and share it with the book flows nicely and am excited to see what she will do next in part 2 great work Ali Parker I rate this book 4:5 stars it's well written could have a little more excitement but it's only book 1 of 3 parts so going to get my hands on part 2 and get to seeing what comes next for Rebecca.

A confident woman who could have love at her fingertips if she took a chance on a younger man. She is stuck on a man who was her friend in high school and nothing more. Will she stay single waiting for the one who could have been but never was or will she look at what's in front of her ? Well, this hooked reader doesn't know either until I read the next book in this to be continued book.

Rebecca runs a financial company that is at the top of the list with her partner and friend from childhood, Parker. She has no social life outside of her job unless she does things with Parker. One of her young associates is always hitting on her but she refuses to go down that road since he is 12 years younger than her. She has always been obsessed with a man from her own past that she spent most of her childhood with and wishes that she had tried to tell Kade what she actually wanted from him. But it seems that she might get a chance if who she seen in the bar was actually him. Want find out anything from this first book other than what she wants and what she obsesses over.

I got this book for an honest review. Was a story about a female executive, that had it all , except a loving man She's holding on to a memory from her past, so she can't move on. Great story, now have to wait for the next book, !!!

Rebecca "Becca" Martin has been "Missy Goody-Goody", since high school. she has done more than any has hoped in her life. Becca is a partner in a business she co-owns, and now building her first house. But there is one thing that is missing. She has almost everything that she wants except Kade, her best friend from high school. But then there is someone younger than her that works for her that wants her and his name is Jason. Will she hold out for Kade or will she move on?
Jason is the intern working for Becca, who has a major crush on her. He finally get her out maybe not on a date and maybe with some help. But that one night after work they end up having drinks with some co-workers and friends. But Jason wants more and he found his way in. Becca is letting him come with her to meet the contractor. But can he convince her that he's the one for her?
This my first time reading this author and I loved it. I can't wait to ready the next book in this series. I loved the way she words the book. If the rest of the series is as good as the first, she might become one of my favorite authors. I recommend this book to others.

I'm not sure how I fell about this one yet. Becca is a successful owner of her own firm and along with her Partner and best friend Parker, they have been rising and making more money for themselves.
For Becca being in her mid thirties and alone things are starting to hit the point where she has her success now she wants someone to share it with and have a family all of her own. However she hasn't quite gotten over the boy who broke her heart when she was in High School.
Jason is an intern in her firm. He is on the rise and has great potential, add in he's attractive and appears to be nice. He's quite the catch. the problem? He's 12 years younger than her and her employee but that doesn't seem to stop him nor her friends from pushing her into his direction.
Kade is the mysterious bad boy that broke her heart. They were close but when it came to it, he rejected her love and left for bigger greater things and to accomplish his dreams. Of course there is a cliff hanger so we'll have to wait and see what happens.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review....
this is the fist book in a series of three and I have to say I am very intrigued by this first book.
Rebecca is a 30something that owns her own business but has never been married and has never really had a serious relationship, but she is having feelings for the young intern from her work, but she thinks starting anything with him would be wrong A because she is his boss and B there is a 12 year age gap between them with her being the older of the two.
After a night out with Jason the intern Rebecca almost makes the mistake of going home with him when in the bar she thinks she sees Kade her highschool crush/bestfriend and it brings up all the old feelings she had for him and the thoughts on why he never made a move on her in high school.
What will Rebecca do, act on her attraction to Jason or will the mystery man she thinks is Kade be her priority????

I had a hard time getting into this series but there was enough interest to keep me reading into the 2nd part. The 2nd part was better and the last was the best.

She loved him and he didn't show interest in anything more than her friendship. She would not allow herself to love after him leaving her broken hearted. This was a short read. It is about Rebecca who is in her mid 30s he has a childhood boy haunting her as she was in love with him and he up and left for 16 years. She often dreamed what it would be like if he returned. Her relationships never worked out as she kept comparing all of them to Kade, which was her past. She was a successful, strong willed, and determined business woman. Her two best friends are Trisha and Parker. Does she ever let go of the past? She has put her life on hold waiting for his return.

I have to be honest. The book was great and I loved reading it. What really ruined it for me was that it was so short. The story line is great and will blow you away but I felt just as I started to book it was already over with and I didn't have all of the story. I can't give it anymore stars than a 3 1/2 because it wasn't long enough to get the full grasp of it. I do hate giving anything below a 4 but sometimes I feel that the author should know what is lacking in what they write. With this it is just too short. Instead of writing small pieces, Please consider writing one complete story and it will probably go much better with readers.

Interesting start to this three part story.
It contains about what I've come to expect in terms of these serial type reads. It gives you a good jumping off point on who the players in this tale will be and just what is going on at the time the story picks up. While you get the feeling most definitely that there will be a love triangle of sorts taking place later in the story, it hasn't happened here.
I'm interested in reading part two and seeing where the author takes this story and who the main female lead will end up with.
Keep in mind when you read, what the author has said in the blurb and what I have said at the top. This installment does end in an open ended fashion.

Good start to the trilogy. We see hard working business woman Rebecca who has her career set, but love life lacking. She dwells on a past high school crush, and thinking about the what ifs. A employee in her firm who is hot but 12 years younger to her 34 years has started showing his interest her. Rebecca is confused on what she feels and what she wants. Can she move on from her past, or is the past going to make an appearance? Looking forward to book 2, need to see what Rebecca is going to do with deciding on her love life.

The writing was okay and I was enjoying it until it rather abruptly ended. It was more like a "night in the life of" book since that's literally what it encompassed. At the end of the night nothing had happened and I was left with Becca wondering "what if" "should I" and "could it really be?" To be fair, it is billed as serial short story. I just didn't realize all of the books together would be such a short story. Book 1 is 58 pages, book 2 is 59 pages and book 3 is 59 pages. Why even bother splitting them up? Even at $2.99 for the boxed set, I'm not interested enough to buy the rest.

Rebecca is a hard working woman and dedicated to making her firm the best it can be!! She has no love life and there's this guy Jason who's smitten with her but he's 12 years younger and she won't even consider him an option... why you ask bc she's still hung up on a past crush that's driven her entire life for 16 years... Will she finally give Jason a chance or will she stay hung up on a guy she don't know if she'll ever see again??

The beginning of a three part serial. Rebecca has become a success in her career and has a comfortable life, the only thing she is missing is someone to share it with. She has been thinking a lot about her best friend from high school and wonders what he is up to now and then there is this sexy younger guy at work that she is attracted to. A good beginning, was hoping to learn a little more regarding the characters but I am willing to continue reading to find out what happens next.

I loved that finally a book that tells the story of a successful business woman !!!!!! which prepared herself professionally with hard work and reach their goals, and it is very very very clear that this book the only thing that it does, is to let you super-hooked to continue reading and all you want to know is what happens with all that flirtation!!!!!!

A good book. Becca is a successful business owner. When a younger guy is put as secretary when the other one quit. He has a thing for her but she's still in love with Kade. She swears she sees him one night at a bar.

Really good Book! A must read! Rebecca is a workaholic and thinks she in love with her 1st love! Jason is way to young, Becca's employee, and in love with her! Will her past love and his age come between them before they even get started? I can't wait to see what happens!

Rebecca is too stuck on age and Kade to even think about Jason. I think she needs to follow her instincts and allow herself to relax with Jason. He obviously turns her on and yet she keeps holding back because they are 12 years apart. I hope she gives Jason a chance and is Kade really back?!

I really liked this series. It was realistic as well as fun to read. And what a great quick read it was! Can't wait to see what else this author puts together for us. A definite 3 star series in my little old opinion.

Got me hooked
This teaser of a story got me hooked. I need to find out the rest. I'm hoping to find out Kade's story in the next part . I've already picked which guy I want Rebecca with.....Kade of course. I'm hoping for love and a few hot scenes in parts 2 and 3!

Very exciting!!
I have read Ms. Parker's storytelling before and that's why I chose to read this series. I'm looking forward to reading part two and three of the series. I like the way she writes because she does a good job of grabbing your attention.
