Andrea experienced a horrific crime when she was a child, and that has impacted her life. Now, she’s an FBI agent, and a great one at that. Her life is beginning to come together. There is just one problem. Her team leader, Clint. He is becoming grouchy and seems to be picking on her. But there is also a growing chemistry between them. This is frowned upon because he is her boss. But there is another reason, too. He’s married!
What I loved the most was that the main leads were not perfect, they were flawed. They didn’t make sensible decisions. They led with their hearts. And in some situations my heart really broke for them, and I wanted them to find a way to be together.
Being that the female lead is actively going after a married man, I imagine that some people won’t like that, and not want to pick this book up for that reason alone. That is a shame, because once I opened this, I didn’t finish until I read the whole thing. I really enjoyed the writing style, it flowed beautifully.
The reason this is a 4 and not a 5 was because I would have liked Andrea to have internally voiced her remorse on chasing Clint, just a little bit more. Also, at points I wanted to bang Clint and Andrea’s heads together and make then talk, really talk.
But saying that, I loved this book. I would read more by this author, too.
