Austin Harris wanted two things in life. His band, Silver Knight, to reach success and his girlfriend, Amber West, by his side when it did. Amber wanted one thing in life; Austin. Sounded simple, right? Wrong.

When Silver Knight got its chance to tour, Austin and Amber had no idea how quickly their lives would change. Caught up in the pursuit of stardom, the pressures of his new life tested their trust and bent their relationship in ways they never imagined. With Austin on the road and Amber left behind, it didn’t take long for temptation to surface, jealousy to form and promises to be broken.

But Austin is determined to have it all as he promises Amber the life they always dreamed of. But eventually, the long distance breaks them. And him. Years later, Austin and Amber’s paths cross again. Fresh from rehab, Austin’s prepared more than ever to reclaim the life he was meant to live and this includes a life with Amber.

Soon they find themselves battling between following the love that’s still in their hearts and the repeated failures of a life together.

Will the lingering blame and doubt from years of broken promises be enough to break them once and for all?

I devoured this book in one sittng and could not put it down! Home was an amazing second chance romance that hit all the marks for me.

******Spoiler Alert******

A plodding effort about an ex druggie's road to redemption & a heroine that is an expert at running away when the going gets rough. The introduction of the hot Drew & the graphic pregnant sex that ensues with a character other than the heroine's one & only also is mildly disturbing.

Katelyn's unnecessary part in the story was also not helpful if as Austin 'thinks it' that nothing untoward ever happened between them.

Katelyn:“I’d rather meet you in my room.” She does her best to sound sultry, when all it does is make her sound sloppy. “Katelyn, we've never gone there and never will. Be in the lobby in twenty,” I say.

If nothing ever occurred with the actress so why the guilt, the angst & the attempt to hide the connection between them from his girlfriend.

And why was the actress so obsessed with Austin if they were only friends & what does she mean that they belong together.

“Why are you doing this?” I ask sternly. “We belong together.” Her hand reaches up carelessly in an attempt to touch my face. I grab her fingers, holding them tight before placing them in her lap.

If Katelyn's minor intro into the story was just to heap more coals & guilt on the hero's already smoldering head than it was poorly done and with the appearance of Emma's brother the druggies just seemed to be crawling out of the woodwork.

The ending was good but other then that it was an extremely slow journey to the finish.

Loved Amber and Austin's story. They had such a hard relationship because of his addictions, so she decides to leave New York and go to Seattle to start over. So he can concentrate on getting better, because she can't bear to watch it anymore.especially when she finds out she is pregnant. She wants a better life for her daughter. Amber walking away is what makes Austin realize that he has to be better and stick to his sobriety, he wants to be the man she deserves. A chance meeting in Seattle and a surprise visit to her apartment makes Austin realize he is not only missing out on being with Amber but his daughter Sophia. He makes it his mission of getting his family back to New York. He shows her that the boy/man she fell in love with is still there. That she can count on him and she proves to him that she won't run anymore, she will fight for them, for their family. Well written, great characters and supporting characters that you can't help but love. I really hope there are more books in this series.

This was actually one of the best books I've read. I loved the characters and the give/take in the relationship. The ups and downs are very dramatic but it was gritty and real. I enjoyed that.

When do you do when love takes you to the gutter? How do you fix that? That's what they are struggling with. They love each other so much that when something goes wrong, Austin does the worst things, get drunk, do drugs, just go off the rails, fall apart. Even if it's just a little thing that went wrong.

Amber can't stand seeing him like that. She loved him enough to leave him. She feels like their love is ruining him. But time apart makes him realize things. Although, is it too late? Amber cannot handle another disaster.

Man, what a beautiful story really. I think this book is actually Lynn Rider's best book out of all books I've read of hers.

After Numb I was against Austin and Amber 100%
I even questioned if I should get Home, I am glad I did. It was a good read. BUT I hated the back and forth with Amber/Austin took up so much space, it was tiring. Anyways, I was team Amber/Drew all the way. I actually thought the author would of thrown a spin in with Drew considering the main male role got the girl in all the other books. So I do hope to hear more about Drew in an upcoming book. One thing I do give praise for this author for is she didn't repeat everything from the previous story, we had info about the people and she didn't rehash it to the point of boredom.

Oh Austin and Amber...

These 2 have been through more ups and downs than any couple should ever have to. I thought this story was beautifully done and brought to light some struggles that people face daily.

The emotions between the characters was amazing. I liked where the story started and the ins and outs of the different relationships. I read this book in one sitting and highly recommend it!

Another good book

I love how this book turned out Austin and Amber were made for one another and how a true love will last for years no matter what obstacles they have to face.
