The fortress has fallen and Virtue’s defeat has brought new faces and challenges to the compound. In the midst of the ensuing changes, Ashley struggles to face her own demons. She is a new young mother who faces raising a child alone in a post-apocalyptic world while living in the shadow of her mother, Emily.

In Ashley’s need to free herself from ‘only ever being Emily’s daughter’, she will leave the compound with a small group to maintain a distant colony of survivors rescued from the fortress. In her story she confronts very real challenge of life outside the compound.

Do Ashley and her friends have what it takes to accept the reality that one day they will lead the compound?

After all, no one lives forever.

Oh. Wow. WOW.

I had thought this was the last book, but... the way it ended, there must be something more, right?

I wasn't sure about reading the story from Ashley's POV, but it worked. And I really enjoyed watching the "new generation" getting along and working together. The "kids" were doing a good job.

But damn. Those books are really emotional.

READ THIS SERIES

I bought the first book in the series a while ago but didn't read until earlier this week. I couldn't stop and soon followed with the next two books in the series. This is one of the best series I have read and I urge you to read it. I laughed and cried with the characters while reading. You will emphasize with them when they lose mates and children but also what a world can come to. Please hurry and get the next book done and for all you readers, ENJOY!!!
