Sometimes love is messy, and unpredictable. The one you're with isn't always the one you're meant to be with. One year ago, Gia Torella made a huge mistake. After several glasses of champagne at her sister’s wedding, she hooked up with arrogant and egotistical Patrick Dubois, the most imposing hockey player on the Pittsburgh Renegades professional hockey team — both on the ice and off. But she vowed to forget that brief passionate encounter, even if her body remembered all the wild and incredible things they did that night. She’s moved on from Patrick, and her solid, dependable, nice-guy boyfriend is proof of that.Patrick has never forgotten their one night of passion. Even though she’s the girlfriend of Tyler Kidd, his team’s captain and therefore completely off-limits, all he can think about is her curvy body, her bubbly personality, and the way she screamed out his name during the best sex he’s ever had. Since their night together, he’s given up on the puck bunnies, the partying, and the random hook-ups, and he’s willing to become the man she needs. They both know it’s wrong, but they’re drawn to each other in a whirlwind of passion. Can Patrick convince Gia that he has really changed into someone she could depend upon… and that sometimes love is worth the penalty for Unsportsmanlike Conduct?
Pittsburgh, PA born and raised! I write Spicy Hockey Romance and Cozy Closed-Door Contemporary Romance. I am a Mom, a Wife, and a dog and cat lover. I've loved reading and writing since I was small. My books are cozy with a little spice. Some might be a little fluffy, but sometimes you need that to get away from every day stress! I am an avid hockey fan. I love my Pittsburgh Penguins! I do plenty of "research" for my books by going to hockey practices and games-I want to make my characters as real as possible.
Oh, my heart felt so much in Unsportsmanlike Conduct. I loved the powerful connection between Gia and Patrick, and I’m excited to read on to Book 3 to see what happens with Tyler Kidd.
Coming off of Kris and Kat's story, I was excited to read Gia and Patrick's and a little hesitant at the same time. I really liked Tyler in book one and Patrick came off as a playboy...but I knew from the synopsis where it was headed.
That being said, I loved Gia and Patrick's story. You knew, even in book one that she felt something for Patrick that wasn't there with Tyler. Gia's head was telling her heart she loved Tyler and in her own way, I believe she did. We can love many people in many different ways, was she 'in love' with him, that was where her head was lying to her heart.
I was pulled in from the beginning as Patrick and Gia are once again brought together for a family gathering. The author did an exceptional job of showing how conflicted Gia was, that she felt she loved Tyler and didn't want to cheat on him, but her heart had other plans. Patrick knows he loves Gia and feels that love in return. He's willing to sacrifice all for them to be together, even if it costs him his place on the team.
I really loved this book and originally I gave this a four star but changed it to a five. I went back and reread it and I realized that the author did this for a reason. Book Three will be Tyler's story and it may spoil the plot to give us where he is coming from. There is a lot in this book that made me feel for Tyler. His teammates and the coach seem to be on the "Patrick/Gia" train without any regard to what Patrick did to Tyler. That being said, it is all about the game and winning. They can't get involved in the personal side of things. Very realistic, IMO, a book I will read over and over.
That being said, overall, I loved this book. I was very HAPPY to find out that Tyler will get his story. This reader hopes that she treats Tyler to EXTRA EXTRA loving. He deserves it. Anyone who reads the reviews and is turned off by them, let me say this. Life doesn't give everyone a happy ending all the time. The book moved me. It made me laugh, angry, sad and left me hungering for the next book. That means that Melody did her job as a writer, she made me feel. Long after I had finished it, my mind was still turning over the endless possibilities for all these characters and where they are headed. I have burning questions. Will Tyler stay with the Renegades? Will he have a 'bro' friendship on the team with anyone? Who is this woman and how will she ever get past the scars that Gia left on his heart? I for one am staying tuned, anxiously waiting for book three, Tyler's story. Hats off to you Melody, a really GREAT read!
Two big problems with this book. First, cheating twice with the same guy. Cheating is never okay. Second, if you are too drunk to walk without help, then you are too drunk to consent to sex. And any guy that takes advantage d a drunk girl especially since he isn't drunk, is scum!!!!! Too angry to finish. Nothing could redeem either characters behavior......
So this was not exactly the book I was expecting for Gia and Patrick after reading Score On Me (the first book of the series). I wasn't a big fan of either of the characters to begin with, although by the end I really liked Patrick, but I didn't see much of an improvement in Gia through the entire book. I thought the from the first book we would see the characters grow up in some way and Patrick definitely did but I don't think Gia did she seemed a little less selfish at the end but not much. I felt terrible for poor Tyler and can't wait for his book. If you don't like cheating you won't like this book, that aspect of the book was a definite let down for me and I would have preferred that it wasn't a part of the story at all especially as it lead to an unknown . I still liked the writing, Melody Gatto is definitely a writer that I enjoy reading even though this story wasn't my favourite I will be reading her next book for sure! I did like that we got to see more of Kris and Kat and the baby and it will be interesting to see if Tyler's book will be the last in the series I'm crossing my fingers hoping that is not the case. A quick side note is that I found I read this book really fast, so I don't know if it was shorter then it suggested on Amazon but I finished a lot quicker then I thought I would (and I am a fast reader).
sooo disappointed with the direction the author took this story. I thought the first book was sweet and I love hockey stories. But I will NEVER read this one.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct was a surprise that I found on Amazon. Melody Wrote a compelling character and the tension that threaded the book kept me reading through it all. The scenes were personal and intimate and expertly written. I felt my own stomach lurched as I read her words. At first I thought the interaction between the hero and the heroine was a little much and a little too contrived. However as the story progressed I could see how they fell in love. As the other characters were introduced into the story, I welcomed the change of pace and the attempt to convey the different perspectives. I felt that the events in the book were a little rushed almost as if the writer was trying to tie them all neatly into the off season. A fine example of what can be done with effort and feeling just a little hot under the collar. The heroine was portrayed with great depth, even though some questionable choices were made. She overshadowed the hero and other characters in the book. I understand the perspective taken as it is very much the Heroine's story and I am not trying to take away from it. I felt the male characters lacked emotional depth. All in all a great story and a good read. 4.5/5
Gia and Patrick spent an interlude together a year ago. She confessed to her boyfriend Tyler and he forgave her.
Patrick is attracted to her and the feeling is mutual.
A year later, they repeat that night. She sleeps with them both and then admits that she slept with Patrick, again. Finally, Tyler reclaims his manhood and walks out.
Having no one to confide in, she turns to Patrick. Shortly thereafter she is late and gets a pregnancy test - positive, and again turns to Patrick. Tyler finds himself questioning the reason for her infidelity, not once but twice.

It has been a while since a book has captured my attention. I read this in a couple of days because I could not put it down. It had really steamy scenes and such a sweet romance. Now I’m ready to go get me a hockey player!!
I loved the story of Gia and Patrick. But the ending was quite unexpected. I loved the handling of the sensitive subject and enjoyed the whole storyline. I smiled and laughed and enjoyed this book.
I had issues with this book. Cheating is a BIG NO for me and the fact that the guy took advantage of the gal while she was drunk and had asked him to leave but he KNEW she didn’t mean it really BOTHERED ME! Didn’t finish the book because I had issues with that whole set up.
You get Via and Patrick's hot story here! You will fall in with them in this to hot for your hands book! There will be some things you will need to get past in it, but once you do, Patrick will have you swooning! Enjoy!
Another fabulous book from Melody. This time we get to find out if Gia will get her HEA or not. As most of you know from the 1st book, Gia is dating Tyler Kidd, the hottest (on and off the ice) player in the league. But all is not roses and sunshine in their relationship. Tyler is a little self absorbed, even though is really a nice guy. Hockey is his #1 priority, not Gia. Unfortunately, for Ty at least, someone else does put Gia 1st. And he will risk everything to make her his.
Patrick has been in love with Gia since the 1st moment he saw her. He does things to her that she can't explain, things that Ty doesn't make her feel. Do you choose the guy that every female between the ages of 10 and 85 is in love with, they guy who makes you feel safe, the guy you know you love but don't necessarily have that spark with? Or do you choose the know playboy, who has a different girl every night, the guy who comes off as a total jack**, the guy that makes you feel dangerous things but also gives you that spark you have always wanted?
I know who I would choose, but who will Gia choose? How will things play out between all involved? This story was full of excitement, angst and heartbreak, and I loved every minute of it. I can't wait to finish the rest of the series.
Yeah this series is addicting. Loving it so much I'm not stopping long enough to leave a review before I start on book 3. I'll be back though. I will say that this is my favorite so far.
Update 4/26: Ok, I'm back. I devoured the entire series over the weekend. Yup, I couldn't even be bothered to leave reviews until I was done. Patrick and Gia's story was a bit of a struggle for me because I don't really like the whole cheating thing. It just puts me off. But, I persevered and stayed with it. I could see the pull between Pat and Gia and there was nothing to stop them from being together, even themselves. The way Tyler acted just made me not like him at all. Ok, I better stop before I give too much away. I really enjoyed reading this series. I mean, come on. It's based on my favorite hockey team and players. It is especially friggin' awesome because the Pens just moved on in the playoffs beating the Rangers in a 4-1 series. GO PENS!!!!
I couldn't put down my phone to stop reading it!!! It was so well written. I laughed. I cried! I love it!! I hope Gia and Patrick's story carries over to the next book!
