Ok. I'm calling it.

Red Hot Beginnings died on 21-Jan-2016 at 14:19 hours.
Fight for Her was the final wound that killed it off.

In addition to my complete lack of any kind of interest in the plot of Fight for Her Vol.1, discovering [it was] yet another serial made me realize I was DONE. Done with Fight for Her Vol. 1 and done with the Red Hot Beginnings anthology. I've not enjoyed myself AT ALL and all of the stories (with the exception of the first book) are all turning out to be part of a serial. I HATE SERIALS.

So. Red Hot Beginnings is a definite FAIL for me. I did not discover any new authors to read.

Cora Seton - The Navy SEAL's E-Mail Order Bride: **4.5 stars**
Excellent first book. At first I wasn't thrilled because I didn't think it had much going for it, but I'm glad that I kept readying because it was a truly wonderful read. Regan and Mason make a totally adorable couple. They're meeting was a little unorthodox, but the messages between them literally had me laughing out loud. I wish/hope there's book about Mason's brothers. I'd love to see the ranch come to life.
**contemporary**

V. M. Black - Life Blood: **1.5 stars**
This was promising, but just kind of - ugh. There's nothing I hate worse than a cliffhanger. But I was so fed up with Cora's fickle emotions that I'm not going to bother continuing with the series.
**paranormal**

Skye Warren - Beauty Touched the Beast: **1 star**
It was interesting but kind of weird. Housekeeper catches house owner masturbating to her (in his head), but she loves him so she's totally cool with it. He thinks he isn't good enough for her because he's scarred, but insists she's his. ... okay then.
**contemporary**

Blair Babylon - Rae Falling: **1.5 stars**
This didn't appeal to me whatsoever. It's like the author was trying to put a good spin of people who use sex like a job. Rae wasn't a likable character and the whole split personality complex was strange.
**contemporary**

Lacey Silks - Dazzled by Silver: **3.5 stars**
So far this is my second favorite book in this bundle. It started off a little strange and I'm not into woman or menage so I didn't understand her fascination for her friend when she had a wicked hot dude that could do way better than her friend and she even said so. Weird sex aside, the story was good. Her friend was doing drugs and owed a ton of money, ends up getting her friends involved inadvertently. I did think it was a little creepy how Gabe found a bunch of info on her, PI or not, it's just weird. Stalker like even. All and all, a good read; would recommend.

Sarah M. Cradit - Flourish: **0 stars**
It had a promising story, but it quickly went downhill. The story was weird, the characters were terrible and the writing only so-so.

JJ Knight - Fight for Her: **3 stars**
I liked this story a lot as I know a family of MMA fighters, but occupation aside, family splitting is a very common occurrence and it was nice to real about something that many people can relate to. I probably won't continue on with the series, but I was satisfied that it had a pretty decent ending, and I'll happily assume that he gets his family back.
**contemporary**

Clarissa Wild - Seek: **0 stars**
It's been about a week since I read this one before doing the review and I have absolutely no idea what it was about so it couldn't have been that great. I don't remember the plot or the characters. Blah.

Liv Morris - Adam’s Apple: **3 stars**
At first I wasn't overly thrilled with this book. I'm not into manwhores and that's all Adam was until he found Kathryn. Their relationship was strange at first, especially mix in the whole death-threat thing and instant chemistry? Not. It wasn't good, but it wasn't bad. It was nice to see him come out of his shell and learn that commitment isn't the end of the world and that you can trust people; at least some people.
**contemporary**

JC Andrijeski - New York: **3 stars**
This book was fairly interesting, but like most of these, it was only a partial or part of a serial. When things finally got interesting, it cut off. LAME!
**paranormal**

Alica Knight - Tigress: **3 stars**
Again, this book had a lot of promise unlike so many others that were included in this bundle, but when things were just starting to pick up, it ended. I hate partials!
**paranormal**

Jacqueline Sweet - The Ghostwriter: **1 star**
Wasn't that big of a fan. She kept repeating her name and 'I destroy men'.
**contemporary**

Pavarti K. Tyler - Sugar and Salt - I stopped reading at this point.

Alisa Woods - Desired - Hot Wolves, High Finance - Never got to it

Overall, I wasn't impressed. There were a couple that were excellent, but most consisted of crappy writing and even worse plots. I hate partial books, and I think only a few of these were full length. I'm glad it was free, but I wish I would have stopped sooner and saved myself the time. It wasn't worth the effort to try and finish it.

I'm a big fan of the House of Crimson and Clover series that Sarah has written. The short brought us a new twist, and I no longer hate Anne. In fact, I'm kind of hoping she will get her own full length book sooner or later because she has become a very intriguing character.

After St. Charles at Dusk, I really didn't like her much. This story gave me a reason to rethink my instant dislike of her character. And of course I love Nicolas even more. I can't say too much more without giving anything away. That's the trouble with shorts. The other trouble is usually being left with too many questions. They were all answered, and you get a whole taste of her story without being left hanging.

I still want more but only because Anne has become a real person with a story I want to know. ;)

I received this as an ARC for an honest review, now i may or may not post spoilers. So read on if you dare.

The Navy Seal's Mail Order Bride by Cora Seton - 5 Stars

This book Had me laughing the whole way as I read it. Now the interactions between the two mains are so real it draws you into their story.

You can see the sparks fly from her to him, then right back from him to her. It was amazing and funny with the snarky comments of her not being on his list for a wife. As, she struggles to start a business and have baby on her own. As, he is trying to win her heart, bring his family home back from the edge of being destoryed and reuninting his brothers in the only home they knew till their father passed away.

Life Blood (Cora's Choice #1) by V.M. Black - 5 Stars

I started this early in the afternoon, it was dark and gloomy just right for a vampire book. Cora as you know as you know has cancer, she has run out of options but wants to live. Now, the interesting part is Ms Black gets it, she gets the struggle that happens when you have no more choice. No more surgeries will stop the growth. No more meds and she transforms that into words. Words that carry you to the college student who has a great bunch of friends, who are doing everything they can to support, help her without knowing why she is sick.

We move on she meets this mystery man who is rich, she does not really ask for any Questions on the procedure which will save her life, you just know he is going to bite her. Now, here is where the twist is .. Ms Black changes things a bit with her vamps. You either die from their bites or you become the life mate. I am amazed at how This authors brain works.

So yes it has cliff hangers... but what is life without a little spice?? This book is worth the time to download and read!

Beauty Touched the Beast by Skye Warren - 3 stars

Now this book did not come off as hot to me. Even with the sex scenes it was lacking for me. It was well written, had a nice plot. But it was rushed. Transitions I got lost in. It was disappointed, as this would have been my first story such as it.

It also seemed to have a nice start but this took only 10 mins to read. Has a cliff hanger and is not finished.

Rae Falling (The Devilhouse, #1) by Blair Babylon - 5 stars

Yes, its that NOVA hot! This gives a good description of a young lady just starting out in the BDSM life. A REALLY good description! I LOVED the plot, the guts of this book! I wish I could give it more then just 5 stars!

It goes from a frat party to a dungeon and then onto learning not only in college but in the "play area" and how to channel emotions into play and come out the other end in a better place!

The secrets of The Dom also come to light as you read into this. This is a great book to read more then once! I found the scenes believable and possible in real life.

Dazzled by Silver By Lacey Silks - 4 Stars

This book started out very faced paced with lots of sex scenes, those kept right up till the very end. Very realistic in most parts of this story. But there where times it dragged in parts and went way to fast in others.

But overall this is a very enjoyable read. It has lots of twists, turns strings with no attachments that turn into attachments with a ring.

I can not wait to read the rest of this set!!! It is so worth the cost!

I received this collection for review.
Over all I give it 3.7 stars

Navy SEAL's Email Order Bride by Cora Seton (4 stars)

This was an entertaining read. At first I was unsure because of the title, I thought it was going to be a weird book. There were parts where I wasn't too fond of the word choice. (Like telling the guy he "chose" a good wife) Also, I'm not sure leagally a person can require four grown men to be married and have the wife pregnant with in a year. It makes for a, at times, quirky and funny situations. But other than that, I enjoyed reading this book and wouldn't mind reading the rest in this mini series.

-------------------
Life Blood by V.M. Black (2.5 stars)

This was a strange one for me. It was certainly interesting, but everything seemed pretty convienant, and really rushed. Cora was an interesting character, she certainly was different from many other characters in Vampire books. I wouldn't mind reading the rest of the books in this novella series, but I would prefer to just read it as one book rather than a bunch of small ones.

-------------------
Beauty Touched the Beast by Skye Warren (2 stars)

This story, I don't really know what to think of it. It was fine, but I have no idea how old either of the characters are. I think I'd care more about them if I knew more of their story.

-------------------
Rae Falling by Blair Babylon ( 0 stars)

I had to stop reading this one after the MC being "mortified" at being rufied and almost raped.

-------------------
Dazzled by Silver; by Lacey Silks (3 stars)

This short story was alright. A lot of the set up was strange to me. I wasn't sure if this was supposed to be erotica, or a mystery but the two didn't really mesh that well together for me. The characters were a little cliche. Im also not sure if the author knew exactly how successful PI's can be, or if she'd ever been to New Zealand, because it seemed like maybe she didn't.

-------------------
Flourish by Sarah M. Cradit (3.5 stars)

Great peek into a really interesting series. Anne is a really interesting character, and Nicholas was also great. I am curious enough to read the full length books in this series.

-------------------
Fight for Her by JJ Knight (3.5 stars)

I liked this story, I like that it's about a dad trying to reconnect with the mother of his child and become part of her life. It feels like it's the start to a story that will have some really sweet and heart breaking moments.

-------------------
Seek by Clarissa Wild (1 star)

DNF, I got bored with the characters and wasn't really interested in the story at all.

-------------------
Adam's Apple by Liv Morris (0 stars)

Had to skip this one, bdsm isn't really my thing.

-------------------
New York by JC Andrijeski (3 stars)

Interesting peek into the series. I am curious to where this will go, and want to read more.

-------------------
Tigress by Alica Knight (2.5 stars)

Decent start to what could be an interesting and entertaining mini-series. Im curious, but not in a rush to read it.

-------------------
The Ghostwriter by Jacqueline Sweet (0 stars)

I had to skip this one. Not my cup of tea.

-------------------
Sugar and Salt by Pavarti Tyler (stars)

I couldn't really get into this one.

-------------------
Desired by Alisa Woods (5 stars)

I first read this book a while ago. Still love it and it's the best of the collection. I might be a little bias since I've read it and more of her other work before.

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
I love these bundles, they prove a great way to try authors and series that are new to you. Some of the stories are first in series or side novellas, some are the first in a two or three part selection, and some are standalones, so there’s a real mix here.
I’ve read a few of these before: I wasn’t keen on Skye Warren’s - Beauty Touched the Beast, it was a good book but just not my kind of read, the Liv Morris one I read as a review book a while back, I enjoyed that and the second book that followed to complete the story. That was a hot, erotic romance. I’m currently reading the Cora Seaton one – have read some of her books before and they are the sort I read when I want something easy and not too in-depth – a book to just relax with, a fun read. I’ve also read and enjoyed the Lacey Silks Layers Trilogy, though not the prequel that’s in this bundle, and so that’s one I want to read. ( And what a name – Lacey Silks, makes me smile every time I read it). The gem for me of course though is JC Andrijeski’s - New York, a novella from the Allie’s War series. We see more of Revik and Allie before she knows what she is, but where Revik is watching over her, trying to protect her. What’s interesting to me is not just the pull he feels to her, but the way she’s attracted to him, feels some kind of connection even though she doesn’t know him. It’s for me part of that real soul mates thing, that makes their relationship so perfect, it’s fiery, full of passion and drama, and at times I feel they’re on the verge of disaster but somehow that pull, that magic between them always brings them back. They really are like two halves of a whole. There’s a real mix here of magic and mystery, shifters, supernatural and straight forward romance along with some real erotica.
Stars: Five, a bargain way to try lots of new reads.

You can't help but to be drawn into Cora's life and feel for what she has gone through and is now going through. She is young just a Sr in college and she has terminal cancer, she is alone having lost her parents the day she was born, and the grandma who raised her in the last year. She struggles through the 1st semester and finals to find out that the last treatment they had to offer her didn't work. All her Dr has to offer her is a card to call hospice and a card to call a man whose company is working on a experimental treatment.

She calls the number and meets a man named Dorian Thorne , she is drawn to him from the minute she meets him, he tells her he needs to draw some blood and if the test come back ok she would be able to try the treatment, but it is very risky only 1 in 100n people survive it, but if she does she will be completely cured with no risk of relapse.

Her blood work comes out ok and she is going to have the treatment, only when she is on a table waiting for it to start does she realize that Dorian is a vampire and he is going to bite her.... all she feels is pain and darkness and then nothing.

She comes to 5 days later in her new bedroom in Dorian's home, to find out there were quite a few things Dorian left out about what all would change in her life if she lived, like that she would no longer be fully human, that she would be a cognate which is a agnates consort (vampire is a human word) and she and Dorian would be bonded to each other.
Cora is really upset that Dorian didn't explain all of the changes she would go through, the fact that she would be bonded to him and be his cognate. Dorian doesn't seem to understand why she is so angry with him and so confused about whether or not she wants to be with him.

This is a well written novella, and a interesting take on vampires ( Agnates) and their mate ( cognates), Cora is so young a Sr in collage where Dorian is many millennia's old, she isn't sure how to deal with all the changes happening not just in her body but also in her life.

I love grabbing a box set to find new authors. Sometimes I find none, sometimes I find many. This set has not disappointed.

I read Life Blood by VM Black. WOW!! That is a series to delve into and I have! Imagine being faced with a decision...your dying and you can get a treatment that will cure you or kill you, but they won't tell you what the treatment consists of, and you find out all to late. But what a late!!!

Beauty touched the beast by Sky Warren is one of my all time favorite pieces of erotica. It is a story that while short the author shines by giving you so much. The characters relationship and bonds are felt and the OMG get a fan worthy scenes are worth the price of admission.

Flourish by Sarah Cradit was different. It went from the typical to, wait what I want more. I am currently looking at the series that this is a start to and am hoping it is a good one as this story was unusual and drew me in.

Most of these books from what I can tell are the First parts/episodes of series/serials. I know that VM Black's serial is complete for Cora's Bond. Sky Warren's is a stand alone. I am so far very pleased with this set of authors and cannot wait to read the rest. If you are like me wanting more bang for your buck to get a bunch of stories for what you would pay for the price of one, this is a good buy.

UTTERLY IRRESISTIBLE !!!
This is a review for Life Blood, the first book of the Cora's Choice series by V.M. Black which is included in Red Hot Beginnings. First, let me just say, WOW! Second, I love, love, love this book! If you love romance, vampires, intrigue, angst and anything paranormal then you will love it as well. Why am I so enthusiastic you ask? Because it is - Exciting! Thrilling! Action Packed! Smart! Well Written! Addictive! Entertaining! Sexy! Sensual! Romantic! And did I say hot? Well, it's hot, hot, hot! Can you tell that I really loved it? The characters are fascinating, captivating, engaging, well developed and sexy as sin. They draw you in and jump off the page right into your heart and imagination while entangling you in their lives. I cheered! I laughed! I cried! I empathized! And sometimes, I even forgot to breathe. I was totally captivated. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough! I devoured it and could not put it down. Definitely swoon worthy! Oh My! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

A collection of stories by some awesome authors of sexy, red hot alpha males that will do anything to get the woman they love.

"This is for V. M. Black's Life Blood in Red Hot Beginnings".

Prior to reading this series, I had only read Out of the Darkness: Taken by the Panther by V.M. Black. I enjoyed reading that book so it was a no-brainer to read the Cora's Choice Vampire Series.

This series is skillfully written, intriguing, mysterious, and had me captivated from the very beginning. Gripping from the start, it has a good mix of tension, regret, anger, fear, drama, angst, unadulterated lust, swoon worthy moments, and a great plot. The only thing missing is the love and HEA, which I'm hoping will come at the end of this series.

There were some books in this box set that I really enjoyed and then others that were not so much. I got this box set when it was on sale so on got it for free. I think normally it's only like $.99 anyways which still isn't a bad price. I found some new authors that I liked and lion forward to reading in the future
