DNF.
This series has officially exhausted my patience.
The first book was already frustrating because Jasmine spent the entire story making reckless decisions, juggling multiple men, and allowing a child to be raised under a cloud of uncertainty without being honest with anyone involved. A child was injured, and only then did the possibility of another father suddenly become relevant. Meanwhile, neither the man raising the boy nor the other potential father was given the truth from the beginning.
Unfortunately, the second installment doubles down on the same issue.
Instead of providing answers, the author drags out the paternity storyline yet again while introducing another pregnancy. The entire book revolves around information readers should have already received, with constant hints and teases but no real resolution. At some point, suspense stops being suspense and starts feeling like stalling.
What makes it even more frustrating is the familiar dynamic where Ciara is once again written as the endlessly supportive wife who is expected to stand by and absorb whatever chaos lands at her doorstep. We’re not talking about a minor misunderstanding—we’re talking about the possibility of an entire child being dropped into someone’s life years later. Yet she’s portrayed as the pillar of strength expected to carry Hov and Jas' emotional burden and immaturity.
To make matters worse, the book ends on another cliffhanger, and readers still don’t have a definitive answer regarding the child’s paternity. How many installments are we expected to read before this storyline is finally resolved?
By the end, I wasn’t invested enough to read closely. I found myself skimming chapters just to see if anything meaningful would happen. It didn’t.
If your plot depends on repeatedly withholding the same answer across multiple books, eventually it stops feeling compelling and starts feeling manipulative.
I wanted resolution. Instead, I got another cliffhanger.

OK, I have said it once and I will say it again these cliffhangers are causing me to have a nice amount of Tums and Excedrin migraine medication on here. This was good. I love all the back stories. I love everything that’s going on and hate it at the same time Amir does not deserve all this jazz maybe just a little!

I wasn’t expecting this. Thought this was the finale. Now you got me over here stressing cause who could it be that gone cause a war🧐😤 I was hooked from beginning to end not one chapter didn’t have me locked in. Literally read this in 2 hrs. Now come on with part 3 asap Please🤗

Heavy as lead!
Whew! Black Lavish, this one was heavy. When I say that I have been fully invested in this series, it's not an understatement. It has me in a tight checkhold. I thought I was all in with Hov, and then Crew started sharing his story, but Amir he is in a league of his own. I know it's because not only does he have his personal hurdles, but he is also tangled in with Hov and Crew's circle of family and friends. I knew Maleeka was going to be a problem. I didn't expect Delihah's situation to turn out like it did or for one of the crew to switch up. Amir's mother, my heart breaks for her, but she is dead wrong for what she did. It is plot twists and secrets being revealed at every turn. Folks are being unalived, and the suspense at the end is killing me. I need to know if one of the main characters is lying under one of those sheets. I have someone in mind, but I will find out once the next installment releases. I hope it won't be too long before we get to indulge into the finale of these characters. Black Lavish has written and created these characters so well that you just become attached to them. These types are the ones you spin the block on during the holidays because you just have to have an update on everyone.

Trust Nobody. Question Everybody‼️
Now this is how you keep readers stressed!
This installment was messy in every way imaginable. The betrayal kept rolling in, loyalty had a price tag, and every time I thought I had the story figured out, Black Lavish reminded me I was only seeing half the board. I caught a few of the plot twists before they landed, but the ones I didn’t see coming? Baby… they hit like a brick.
I really felt for RJ, and I’m still not buying Reggie’s version of that accident. Something is missing, and I don’t think we’ve gotten anywhere close to the full truth.
Amir… whew. That man is a different type of dangerous when it comes to Jas, and I was here for every second of it. We got so many more layers to his character in this book. He’s calm, calculated, and moves with intention, but underneath all that is a switch that’ll flip without warning if it comes to protecting what’s his. That’s what makes him so intriguing.
Delilah definitely caught a dose of karma, but I refuse to believe she’s dead. And Jas? Sis worked my last nerve hiding that pregnancy. Then Black Lavish had the audacity to leave us still questioning whether Reggie or Hov is the father? 😩
That ending had my blood pressure through the roof. I feel like I can see pieces of the puzzle, but not enough to put the whole picture together. Black Lavish shook the table, flipped it over, then walked away smiling while the rest of us are left picking up the pieces. That’s exactly how you write suspense without giving too much away.
Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for On You 3, because these questions need answers expeditiously. Black Lavish done Played All In My Face🥴

ain’t sitting right .. *spoilers*
It’s one thing to amass many characters but doing it in a manner where you don’t convolute the story is a fine balance and I’m not sure the balance was reached here.
Then there are things that don’t make sense. The last book you dropped a bomb then somewhat skated over it and jumped to a month later?
Crew pissed but knew but on some let me pull my gun out? Talk about mixed feelings.
Ain’t no way Hov is sitting a month without knowing if Rj his.
Delilah know her parents in trouble and she playing long game like 9 months long?
Scotty just so happens to be who her parents are indebted to and he knows about the wife but he did not harm to her .. 😒
Jasmines home girl straight up ran but you get in her car?
Khalil found a stack; hid it in his closet but now he has it back in his pockets?
Amir allows “mama” to take Rami and the money to a drop when people talking about killing Khalil? He ain’t sitting out or just shelling out cash like that without knowing who’s behind it and being able to get back at them.
Then small things like it’s noon and the next breath I’ll have you back at noon .. minor errors made but this one stood out a lot.
And it’s not even the end? This half a book drop stuff needs to stop!

Ohhhhh, I was not expecting Erica to do Amir like that!!!…I want her caught and dealt with!!!…She should have just asked him for some money, but to steal from the very person that only wanted you to acknowledge him is crazy work!!!…

So this book had a few bombs in it as well as some snakes! Delilah, Maleka and even Erika. After finally connecting to his mom, his little bother is kidnapped. Amir pays the ransom and gives it to his mom only for her to run off with the money and her last son. This nut says it’s no saving Khalil so she’s not spending the money. Jasmine and Delilah are both pregnant!
Not sure why Delilah didn’t tell Amir the entire truth! He would’ve helped her parents now they are gone. I didn’t think Scotty was the loan shark! And now that Kim told him about busting down Amir- he’s out for blood. He off Delilah because of that.
Hov you were being a hypocrite about Cashmere when you was sneaking around with Jas. The fact that we don’t know whose Rj father is factually is mind boggling.

Lavish has done it again! I don’t like that everything was fallin on Jasmine cus she definitely wasn’t in them situations by herself. She did make me mad with how she was being blind to what Malieka had going on. That girl is not your friend!! Deliah gave me mixed feelings, I wanted to feel bad for her but you trapped that man !! I knew Scotty and his wife was gon be a problem somewhere along the line and would you look at that!! Amir is finna wreck some
stuff in the worst way! There is no words to describe how he finna cut up! Ciara was givin me ick vibes when she was talkin and I hate to say that but girl lock it up and let it go! Can’t wait for part 3 I got questions!!! 10/10 highly recommend

Now, I'm so glad that RJ woke up. Maleka is a snake, hopefully she gets hers. I also hope that Jasmine and the baby survive. Poor Amir, he has been taking hit after hit. He needs a break.

The cliffhangers have me on edge! Why is Jasmine such a fool for that fake best friend? Amir’s mother is disgusting for what she has done but to be totally honest not one character in this book is a decent individual. The lies and deception and unprotected sex all around is crazy. Hov possibly being the father of Jasmine‘s baby was insane. Ciara always having to be strong is a bit ridiculous. I can’t wait for part three.

Amir deserves so much more than the hand he’s been dealt. Just one thing after the other! Also does Jasmine have any redeeming qualities? She truly gets on my nerves - no accountability. She is such a jealous hater - Ciara has done nothing to warrant the hate she gets from Jasmine. At this point, book 3 is gonna have to be 500 pages to wrap this stuff up. I don’t like Delilah or Jasmine for Amir.

There are so many unanswered questions! Maleka ticked me off being so thirsty for Troy. Erika is so trifling she doesn't deserve mentioning anymore. Delilah and her parents are not as slick as they think. Amir moves to his own beat not theirs. Jasmine is around too.many gangstas to be so naive.

Black Lavish don't care about you feel. Her cliff hanger ,have you in the choke hold of you life. At the end of the book you going to feel like crack head Samme . She have checking every day even after she just release. 10 out of 10 I do recommend. Just know Black Lavish be coming for you edges.

One thing Black Lavish going do is write a damn good book! I honestly think this is the best book in the series. Plot twist was coming left and right and had me on the edge of my seat.

Omg this series is so lit. It’s a lot of back stabbers going on. Scotty wife lied to him she did that cause my boy Amir didn’t wanna fill with her no more. Then my girl Braden’s set her up. Then Amir mom makes me wanna smack her cause what she just done to him but karma is a b***h. I hope everybody comes out ok. U did good on yet another book and I’m looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read.
