Not that good. So many issues. Grammatical and continuity errors. My worst pet peeve: superfluous over repetitive inner monologues. I guess that is what constitutes relationship building and falling in love in some authors' minds. Instead of actual character interactions. Also, my God can there be an interaction that doesn't just race to a sex scene. Sheesh.

I go into more detail about her writing and contrasting this book with her newest one which was actually phenomenal, in my other review. Link below

Sexting His Son's Ex had a premise that immediately caught my attention. A woman discovers her boyfriend has been cheating and gotten another woman pregnant, so she decides to get a little revenge by anonymously sending flowers to his father? I was absolutely intrigued from the start.

Jovie was easy to root for throughout the story. After finding out Luca wasn't the man she thought he was, she refuses to sit around feeling sorry for herself. Instead, she channels her heartbreak into a revenge plan that quickly takes on a life of its own. What begins as a petty act meant to get back at her ex soon turns into something far more complicated when she starts forming a connection with Santino Salvati, Luca's father.

Santino was easily my favorite part of the book. As a powerful crime boss who lost his wife years ago, he's spent a long time existing rather than truly living. His world feels empty, predictable, and weighed down by responsibility. Watching Jovie slowly bring color back into his life was one of the most enjoyable aspects of the story. Beneath the power, reputation, and mafia lifestyle was a man who deserved happiness, and I found myself rooting for him from the very beginning.

The chemistry between Jovie and Santino was strong, and I enjoyed the progression from anonymous flowers and sexting to something much deeper. Their relationship had plenty of humor, passion, family drama, and emotional moments. Once Santino discovers the identity of the woman he's been fantasizing about, things become even more complicated, especially with Luca refusing to let go and danger beginning to circle around them.

The mafia dynamics added an extra layer of tension to the story, and I enjoyed the suspense elements woven throughout. There were a few twists, revelations, and moments of danger that kept the story moving and gave the romance higher stakes.

While I enjoyed the book overall, the pacing didn't quite work for me the way Liz Archer's books normally do. I usually fly through her stories and become completely immersed in the characters, but this one felt rushed in places. I found myself wanting more time with Jovie and Santino as their relationship developed so I could connect even more deeply with their journey.

That being said, I genuinely enjoyed this couple. Santino and Jovie complemented each other beautifully, and I loved seeing them find happiness together despite the unconventional way their story began. The epilogue and bonus epilogue were especially satisfying and wrapped everything up in a way that left me smiling.

Sexting His Son's Ex is a fun, steamy, slightly taboo mafia romance filled with revenge, age-gap tension, family drama, danger, and a couple worth rooting for. While the pacing kept it from becoming a favorite for me, Santino and Jovie's story still delivered plenty of heart, heat, and entertainment.

Thanks to Liz Archer and BookSprout for an advance reader copy for which I am leaving an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sexting His Son's Ex is the part of the Forbidden Silver Foxes series. It was my first from this author but won't be the last. I enjoyed it so much and loved the plot.

Jovie is a flower shop owner. She is dating Luca when she finds him with someone else. She then realizes he has been cheating on her for a while. Jovie has met his father, Santino, on a few occasions. She is so angry with Luca that she decides to anonymously send flowers to Santino with her phone number. Santino is a crime boss but lives a lonely life ever since his wife died. When he finally finds out that Jovie is the one who is sending him flowers and sexting him, he knows that he wants her.

I loved how Jovie was such a good person and how she played a game with Santino. I loved how he became obsessed with her. I love how she brought out the good in him. Their story is a great age gap and I look forward to the next one.

It's okay

I'm a grammar nerd and this book was difficult to read. There's SO MANY spelling errors, grammar mishaps, and syntax problems that I'm now wondering if this author fixed all her first draft mistakes with autocorrect. And we all know what an asshole Autocorrect is.
The plot was OKAY. The dialogue is pretty cheesy. I'm not really into the MMC. Some of these Mafia romances and their characters are so believable and this entire book felt forced. There were many times I wanted to just stop reading this but then I pushed through bc I wanted to see how it ended. It was a rough read due to the constant barrage of grammar/syntax errors. I constantly had to reread things bc it wouldn't make sense until I figured out what the author was trying to say. This felt very amateur all the way around. I liked the first book I read from this author. This one is so bad, I'm not sure if I'll look up any more

Jovie is dating Santino’s son, Luca who she catches cheating with multiple women and is done. Jovie, who owns a flower shop starts sending flowers to Santino, Luca’s father anonymously initially to get back at Luca. Santino, a powerful crime boss, lost his wife when Luca and his brother Omar were young boys. He lives in a gray, empty world. When he and Jovie (he does not know it is her, though he wishes it was) start sexting each other, feelings grow. Once he finds out Jovie is the one sending the flowers and sexting him, he brings her home and makes her his. Luca, wanted Jovie back, though he treated her poorly. There is revelations and some danger. Santino and Jovie were a wonderful couple to root for and made each other complete. The epilogue and bonus epilogue nicely tied up the story.

Sexting His Son’s Ex had a premise that immediately grabbed my attention, and there were definitely moments that kept me invested in the story. The chemistry between the characters was there, and I found myself wanting to see how everything would unfold.

Unfortunately, the pacing felt very rushed in several places, making it difficult to fully connect with the characters and their relationship development. There were also a number of grammar, editing, and plot issues that pulled me out of the story and distracted from the overall reading experience.

While I enjoyed parts of the book and can see the potential in the storyline, the rushed execution and technical issues ultimately knocked my rating down from what could have been a 4-star read to 3 stars. Fans of taboo romance may still find plenty to enjoy, but this one didn’t fully deliver on its promising concept for me.

Sexting his Son’s Ex is a spicy age gap romance that follows FMC Jovie a talented florist who is ignoring those red flags surrounding her current boyfriend Luca until the moment she finds out he has been cheating and gotten someone pregnant.
All Jovie wants at this point is revenge so with his dads information taken off his phone begins plotting.
MMC Santino Salvati is annoyed with his son’s stupidity when he finds out about the pregnancy and breakup, and having met Jovie once he’d really liked her right away.
His son has messed up but he won’t!
I liked their story which had humor, drama, family dynamics, sexting, Mafia dynamics, emotion, and passion.
Good writing in a nicely crafted story that I was totally entertained by. HEA.

Sexting His Son’s Ex by Liz Archer is a fast, addictive, and outrageously steamy age-gap mafia romance that hooked me from the very first page. Jovie’s revenge plan spirals in a completely unexpected direction when she realizes the man she’s been sexting is not her ex—but his powerful, dangerously magnetic father, Santino.
What follows is a whirlwind of obsession, protection, and high-stakes danger as feelings explode between them and enemies close in from every side. The chemistry between Jovie and Santino is intense and impossible to ignore, while the suspense keeps the story moving at a breathless pace.
This book is bold, dramatic, and completely binge-worthy, delivering everything promised in a dark, ultra-swoony mafia romance. I couldn’t put it down.

When Jovie finds out that her boyfriend is cheating, she decides to take revenge by sending a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a card bearing her number anonymously to his father. To her surprise, Santino responds and sends her a message, unaware that he is the father of her ex. It doesn't take long before they exchange steamy messages and meet in real life. Even though they then know who they both are, it doesn't stop them, as neither of them extinguishes the fire raging within them. Will they have a future together, or is there someone in the shadows trying to stop that? I enjoyed their story and it is definitely highly recommended!

Sexting His Son's Ex by Liz Archer is a scandalous, over-the-top age-gap romance packed with forbidden attraction, mafia intrigue, and enough steam to kept me turning the page late into the night. The story leans heavily into its outrageous premise, centering on a heroine who finds herself entangled with her ex-boyfriend's father: a powerful, older mafia boss whose protective instincts and commanding presence make him impossible to resist. I really enjoyed how the mafia backdrop added danger and excitement without overshadowing the romance itself. Overall, Sexting His Son's Ex is a guilty pleasure read that was hard to put down.

Intense & Emotional Love Story

This was an intense and emotional love story filled with shocking twists, heartbreak, and redemption. The devastating revelations surrounding the ex-wife’s death, her affair with the hero’s stepbrother, and the discovery that his first son was not biologically his created a powerful emotional journey. Amid the pain and betrayal, watching the father unexpectedly fall in love with his son’s ex-girlfriend was both complicated and captivating. Their connection was passionate, healing, and impossible to resist. A gripping story about loss, forgiveness, and finding love when you least expect it.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Jovie Morgan and Santino Salvati. When this book opens we find that Jovie is dating Luca but has a feeling something isn't right. When she learns he is cheating on her she learns the information about the one man who can help her Santino. When Santino learns what his son has done he lays into him. He tells him that he has no respect for women and he is not surprised that Jovie left him. Can these two get a HEA or will one man how wants to win at any cost make sure that never happens?

Another amazing hit by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone

Part of "Forbidden Silver Foxes". When Jovie discovers that her boyfriend has been cheating on her, she leaves him in the dust. Good riddance! As a last bit of revenge, she sends his father a gorgeous bouquet, including a card with her phone number. When Santino runs into her in a restaurant, he apologizes for his sons conduct and the attraction between them deepens. He sends a text to the number on the card, not knowing it's Jovie and things get spicy. Jovie knows that she's playing with fire but she can't help herself - the pull is too strong. Do they have a chance at a future?

I loved this. Jovie getting back at her cheating ex Luca by anonymously sending flowers to his father, Santino. She wasn't about to sit around and dwell in what happened. And honestly, Santino might be this big mafia boss, but he lost his wife and was just going through the motions in life. So when Jovie stared texting, he felt something. And i loved this for him. These two dived into a prefect relationship. But when Luca refuses to let go, there's danger and tension. But also some steam with Jovie and Santino. I really enjoyed this book.

Jovie, a florist finds out her boyfriend Luca is cheating. Figuring to get revenge she sends his father Santino flowers with only her phone number. After several bouquets he contacts Jovie, not knowing it's her. They have only met once before, and Jovie was intrigued. The situation turns steamy with texts. What will Jovie do as this was not her motive? What happens when she learns he is a mafia boss too? A captivating story throughout!

Great story, but reads as a first draft

The storyline was great and has more potential, but feels like a first draft was submitted. The typos, grammatical and spelling errors detract from the story. The scenes are ripe and spicy, but the MMC needs more definition, without him frequently talking to himself about how dangerous or how bad he can be and not hurt his woman. Very repetitive self monologing. I usually enjoy this author enthusiastically. The story feels rushed and not yet complete.

Oh Santino… he is the biggest baddest teddy bear a mafia man could be. The softness and care he has toward Jovie is amazing. I love that he’s a hard mafia man but for his love he’s soft. Loved this mafia light romance.

Amazing

This was actually my favorite book of hers! Spoilers- lots about their relationship. The story was primarily focused on the main characters and the “enemy” was the son. However it was a very small part in the story, which I preferred because I rather a story focused on the couple rather than constant ups and downs. Truly loved it!

This book was pretty intense. Jovie catches her boyfriend cheating on her. She wants to get back at him so she starts texting his dad. Santino is one sexy beast! He rich, powerful and sexy. What isn’t to love about him. She brings color back into his life after his wife passed away. Such a good book.

Good story

So this one was a good story. It wasn't read through enough though. Some sentences didn't make total sense do to missing letters and the story line being a little reversed. It could of done better with a couple of read through's before releasing it. With that being said. I gave it full stars because I liked the romance story as a whole that much.

The love story of Jovie & Mafia Boss Santino goes through many complicated stages. Her prior relationship with Santino’s Son is just one dramatic episode in the story. All building up to the “happy” ending.

Very Enjoyable book

I felt like it took a long time for the characters to get together. However, when they did, the story moved right along and they had the happily ever after that they deserved. It was a good read and I enjoyed every page!
