I am a stock market retail investor for more than a year. I learned everything through many courses and videos available on the internet and some through my personal experience. I really want to know what is explained in this book so I started reading. The writing was simple and the author has described what are the necessary terms and concepts to be known before investing in a stock market. He not only spoke about the stock market, but he also said about mutual funds, bonds that was really good. There are different ways to diversify the saving, the stock market is not the only way. I too started knowing about bonds and other forms of investment after entering the stock market. The risk is based on the type of investment and amount of knowledge you have on it.
This is a 1-hour read and all necessary concepts for starting the investments are mentioned.
I wanted to get my feet wet with share market, so needed to start from the very basics. This book gave me those foundational concepts and how these terms are used while investing and trading.
The book was published a few years ago, but gladly the definitions still are the same - considering how quickly things change in stock markets.
Would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to start with the ABCs on this subject, but remember some policies have changed since its publication.
I think among all the books about Investing and capital markets, meant for beginners, this is perhaps the best.
I would recommend this book to all those who are new to investing and are seeking help to understand the mechanism of trading, this book would would be a great read.
A must read if you are a budding investor in Indian stock markets. Superb pointers and explanations. A definite recommend if you are getting started or in your early days in the market.
