If you can only have one tatting book in your library, this is the one to get. It is an absolutely exhaustive reference, full of techniques, patterns, helpful hints and tatting wisdom. The majority of the book covers shuttle tatting, but Ms Jones offers a chapter on needle tatting. It would take years to work all the patterns she gives in this book. A needlework classic for the ages!

Rebecca Jones gives a wonderfully comprehensive overview of tatting. She provides a history of the craft, many methods to tatting, and simple, open-ended projects. A bibliography and multi-lingual glossary are included at the back of the book. The techniques are primarily drawn illustrations which, though clear, could be darker and larger. All techniques also have written instructions. Both color and black and white photographs show completed patterns.
