Rate this book
Some nights, the best things happen right where someone might walk in.

Anabel Silva has one night to pull off the most important party of her career. The room isn't ready. The CEO is expecting spectacular results. And her girlfriend isn't coming.

Except she does.

And Anabel is her dessert, and she is starving. She's not waiting until they get home.

But the night isn't done surprising her. The stranger Anabel meets is beautiful and impossible to ignore. She doesn't know it yet, but this moment, this stranger, will change everything about her future.

DINNER ME is a 1st POV short story set before the Watched and Wanting series. One encounter. One moment. One thing that sets everything in motion.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Highlights:
-Short and sweet (28 pages on Google Play Books-The story is about 16)
-Relationship between Annie and Jennifer is interesting
-Annie and Genevieve(current girlfriend) is cute
-Spice is fun

The summary on booksprout is a little misleading. “But the night isn't done surprising her. The stranger Anabel meets next is exactly the kind of trouble worth getting into”. There is no action or any kind of real “trouble” with any strangers(not in this book anyways). You do get some flirting? Ish. Although the two spice scenes you get are cute, you can feel the love and compatibility with her girlfriend Genevieve which is why I was so confused to see that the books are instead about Annie chasing after that stranger instead of being with Genevieve.

Especially because at first I thought it was just a short and sweet preview for what you get in the actual series with two fun spice scenes as an added bonus. After I read the summary for the "Watched and Wanting" series I have a question. Why focus on Annie and a woman that will end up as an ex? I wonder how they explain her away or if she’s even mentioned(the book has a paragraph at the end that says it’ll make sense). Either way, it’s a fun standalone, where you can close your eyes and hope they stay happy.

Another warning. It really is very short.

Dinner Menu is a fun, quick read that does exactly what a prequel short story should. In a short amount of time, Stacey Hart establishes the characters, gives readers a glimpse of their chemistry, and delivers just enough romance and spice to leave you wanting more. It was an engaging introduction to the series and definitely whetted my appetite to continue with the full novels. I'm looking forward to spending more time with these characters.
