Dr. Preston Jett is older, grumpy, and my new boss, so he is probably the last man who should be helping me with my bedroom bucket list. Right?

Books don’t often make me cry. I don’t seek books that are sad or overly emotional, I’ve had enough of that in my life and I read to escape. This book caught me though, sobbing my eyes out but of pure happiness. This HEA book is literal perfection. Our MMC Preston is a hot shot, heartbroken ortho God who suddenly finds himself a single, heartbroken dad (who SHOT up to tier book boyfriend status). Enter Mia, our bad a*s boss b!tch to patch him and his daughter up and move on her way. But would a romance book even be a romance book if there wasn’t more than that? No, it has just the right amounts of slow burn, chemistry, tension, spice, and most importantly, love 😍 this is the second in a series of found family and is absolute perfection, plus who doesn’t love a nanny trope? ❤️🔥 I’d highly recommend reading BOTH right away! Rachel Kellar did an amazing job and both books are MUST reads, this one especially settling right in my heart and soul. I hope and pray for more!! 🙏🏼🥹💜😍

Oh my gosh, I loved this SO much! I didn’t think this could surpass Boss Abroad but I was wrong— Mia and Preston are everything.
One of my favorite things is how the author writes awkward moments: you cringe with embarrassment for the character while also sweating a little at the delicious tension, but then find yourself cackling at the description of the scene and the banter / witty dialogue that reliably follows. I found myself chuckling or reacting out loud many times while reading, which just makes the experience even more enjoyable.
Mia is an amazing human being with a huge heart and capacity for love. She’s sarcastic and just so funny. Preston , while initially a bit of a grump, is also a stellar human being . His concern for others, the way he loves his daughter, Lily, and even how he tries to protect Mia from himself and his situation speaks to his character. That alone would be enough in a book boyfriend, but he’s also hot, generous in a variety of ways, and a ridiculously delicious dirty talker which just tips him into unicorn territory. Throw in the fact that he’s so down bad for Mia and… sigh. Chef’s kiss.
I loved the chemistry between Preston and Mia. The yearning, the tension, the physicality… it was all so darn hot. SO hot. And the real emotions between these characters on top of all of that just made everything even better.
If you like single dad, age gap, strangers to lovers, found family, a protective MMC, a hilarious FMC, witty banter, real emotions, wonderfully spicy scenes, dirty talk from both main characters , and a HEA then you will probably love this just as much as I did.

(it had behavioral issues that slid into a creepy area. This obviously doesn’t seem like the author’s intention- it simply is where it landed)
The massaging was borderline repulsive because it hit in a grooming vibe. Really odd for this romance. The age gap wasn’t the issue for me- it was the execution.
And, frankly this all begins because he “wants to feel like a man “ again- and was on viagra for ED- and she’s the tool to getting him hard. Blah. ‘ I can’t get hard except with you— so now you’re on my radar’…. How flattering.
If the book was revamped in service to it actually being a romance- it could work. It simply didn’t hold high marks from me.

This is my first book by Rachel, and I will say I loved her writing so much! 🙌🏼
The way she wrote Mia and Preston made those characters come to life. I freaking loved Mia's inner monologue, this fmc is in her own league! 😂 And being a plus-size girl, some of Mia's thoughts hit too close to home and made her so relatable.
Adding in the tension, the batter, and the spice made this book for me.

Firstly, I would like to say thank you the the author for the chance to read this as an ARC and my review has been left voluntarily. This is a 3.5 ⭐️ star read for me …
On paper, this book should have been catnip for me. Single dad? ✔️ Age gap? ✔️ Nanny/boss dynamic? ✔️ Forced proximity? ✔️ Found family? ✔️ Witty banter? ✔️ Emotional vulnerability? ✔️ A grumpy MMC who is secretly a giant marshmallow and completely down bad? ✔️✔️✔️
Basically, it arrived carrying a basket full of my favourite tropes and yet somehow stopped just short of becoming a new favourite.
Mia was a nice FMC. She was funny, awkward, warm-hearted, and sarcastic in a way that made her instantly lovable. I appreciated that she wasn't written as someone waiting around to be rescued. She had her own personality, insecurities, humour, and emotional intelligence, which made her feel genuinely real. I wished we got more about her past, like what happened after the phone call seemed like a pointless mention to be forgot about.
Preston was also a strong MMC. His devotion to his daughter, his efforts to rebuild his life, and his willingness to be emotionally vulnerable gave him far more depth than the standard broody billionaire-with-a-jawline love interest. My only complaint? I wanted him to stay grumpy longer. The man folded faster than a deck chair in a hurricane.
The chemistry between Mia and Preston was definitely there. The tension, the banter, the awkward moments, the spice it all worked. Rachel Keller has a talent for writing scenes that make you cringe, laugh, blush, and immediately turn the page to see what fresh embarrassment awaits the characters. It's honestly impressive.
That said, this ended up being a 3.5 star read rather than a 5 star one for me. There were points where the story seemed to lose momentum, and the emotional development felt like it was jogging on a treadmill rather than moving forward. The middle section became a little repetitive, and there were several chapters where the plot appeared to take a brief holiday while the spice took over the itinerary. By the time the story decided to sprint towards the finish line, the ending felt a bit rushed compared to the slower pace that came before it.
Overall, this was a genuinely enjoyable read. It was funny, sweet, emotional, and very spicy. I wouldn't be running through the streets demanding everyone read it immediately, but I also wouldn't stop anyone at the bookstore door. If the tropes appeal to you, there's a good chance you'll have a fun time with this one.

Trouble From Abroad was exactly my kind of book. Mia comes to New York to help her boss's friend Preston Jett get his life back together after his wife leaves him and their daughter for another man. Preston is a surgeon, a suddenly single dad, and honestly just trying to keep his head above water while raising Lily. Enter Mia, who may not have nanny experience on paper, but has plenty of experience taking care of people and immediately starts bringing order back into their lives.
Mia was just the sweetest character. She was so good with both Lily and Preston, and I loved watching her decide to take a chance on herself and really live while she was in New York. Preston absolutely won me over too. The minute he decides he's all in, he's ALL IN. I loved that he didn't drag his feet once he knew that he wanted to build a future with Mia. The chemistry between them was fantastic, the banter and inner monologues had me laughing out loud, and the spice was HOT. Like damn, I need to go read more Rachel Kellar immediately. I also loved that this age gap romance featured a 28-year-old heroine and a silver fox hero in his early forties. Add in a plus-sized FMC that Preston absolutely adored and I was sold.
While I understood what the story was going for, some of the food-related moments felt a little over the top at times. It wasn't a deal breaker by any means, just something that occasionally stood out to me.
Overall, I loved this book. I'm a complete sucker for a single dad and nanny trope, and this one delivered everything I wanted. It made me laugh, blush, and ugly cry. Between the emotional moments, the family dynamics, and the chemistry between Mia and Preston, I could not put it down.

What a wonderful, amazing read by one of my Personal Favorite Authors. This story definitely did not disappoint this reader. It held my attention from page one to the very last page. I absolutely love Rachel’s way of writing and creating characters that as the reader you connect with. Really enjoyed Preston & Mia’s story. Loved their chemistry and how could I forget Lily? I adored her character. I enjoyed this one so much and look forward to her next book.

When I learned we were getting another book in the Abroad series, I was asking myself how I was going to love another couple MORE than April and Liam... but Rachel? YOU DID IT. You made me fall head over HEELS in love with Mia and Preston.
Mia is an absolute powerhouse GODDESS in her own right, and wiling to go toe to toe with the grumpy, sexy and intimidating Dr. Preston Jett, for his own good and his daughter's. She knows he's on a fast track to destruction, and out of love for her old boss and friend Liam Gunn, she's determined to do a good job.
And Dr Preston Jett? He was not prepared for the storm of a century that was this fiery curvy woman who was in his mind "too young for him" but made him feel things he hasn't in years. But when he learns our sweet Mia was planning to hire "help" to learn how to appreciate her body and how to please man, the good doctor came up with a solution. Let him complete the list, no strangers, no strings.
But that NEVER ends well, does it?
I related to Mia so much, as I am also a bigger girl, who never felt confident in her body, until I met my partner. He loved the parts of me that made me feel so insecure, and made them his favorite. Every girl deserves their own Preston Jett, and every man deserves their own Mia Thorne.

I loved this book so much! After reading Boss Abroad, I couldn’t wait to dive into Preston and Mia’s story, and it was absolutely worth the wait. I loved how sassy Mia was, and I really enjoyed watching her grow in confidence throughout the book. And Preston… omg, I have no words 🥵🥵 I LOVED him and how completely feral he was for Mia.
This book had me hooked from the beginning, and I genuinely couldn’t put it down. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, swoony, spicy romance with amazing chemistry and characters you can’t help but fall in love with.

When Mia finally arrives at his house she is greeted by sheets of plywood, pipes a sink and a shower head. She double checks the address and looks up ok this is right. A moment later a strong silhouette fills the doorway that has her fantasizing about sexy plumbers. He gives her a tour around the old house like a flight attendant and adds that there is only 1 working bathroom in the house that they will be sharing since he just screwed up the plumbing in his room. He notes that the basement used ro be his wife's yoga studio but now is turned into a gym and a library. Mia's face lights up at the word library and is intrigued. They end up going to a super fancy dinner that night and Callie ends up showing up. After the dinner she takes Mia for a bar hop and they get absolutely hammered. They go back to Preston's place and are giggling in the kitchen and chatting. Mia starts blurting out secrets how she wants to hire an escort to help her bump the awkward out of her and help her become more confident. Callie is sitting there shocked and says why don't you just do it with Preston? Little do they know that Preston is easdropping on this entire conversation in the stairway. The next morning Preston can not get this out of his head and he tries to avoid Mia at all costs. Will Mia blur the lines of her job as a nanny and get messy with Preston or will she hold back and stay professional?

The Doctor Is In... My Heart
Rachel Kellar absolutely delivered with Trouble from Abroad. I loved Boss Abroad, but somehow Mia and Preston completely stole my heart and gave me a new favorite in the series. Mia was such a fantastic heroine. She is funny, sarcastic, capable, and endlessly caring, but beneath all of that confidence are insecurities she's spent years carrying around. I loved watching her slowly learn to see herself through someone else's eyes and realize just how worthy she is of love, desire, and happiness. She was relatable, lovable, and impossible not to root for.
And then there's Preston Jett. Honestly, where do I even begin? Preston starts off as a grumpy orthopedic surgeon whose life has completely fallen apart. Between his painful divorce, caring for his daughter Lily, and trying to put himself back together, he has a lot on his shoulders. But beneath that grumpy exterior is one of the most patient, caring, protective, and emotionally intelligent heroes I've read in a long time. The way he loved Mia, supported her, and encouraged her confidence absolutely melted my heart.
The chemistry between these two was incredible from the very beginning. From awkward encounters and hilarious misunderstandings to intense tension and unforgettable spicy scenes, every interaction felt electric. I especially loved how the "teacher" dynamic was handled. Rather than simply focusing on physical attraction, it became a journey of trust, communication, confidence, and learning what truly makes each other feel loved and desired.
One of my favorite parts of the story was the emotional healing woven throughout the romance. Both Mia and Preston have experienced heartbreak, disappointment, and loss. Watching them slowly help each other heal while building something real together made their relationship feel meaningful and authentic.
Lily was an absolute sweetheart, and I adored the little family they created together. The found family elements were beautifully done, and every scene between Mia, Preston, and Lily made me smile.
Of course, Rachel Kellar's signature humor was present throughout the story as well. The banter was sharp, witty, and genuinely laugh-out-loud funny. There were multiple moments that had me grinning, cringing, swooning, and laughing all within the same chapter.

Preston's wife left him and their precious daughter, Lily. As a busy surgeon with a chaotic schedule, he needs a nanny asap. Queue Mia's arrival. Mia and Lily instantly bond because Mia is as sweet and genuine as they come. Their forced proximity leads to great s3xual tension, but their age gap is an issue for Preston. However, when he overhears Mia say she needs assistance with hands-on, sp!cy lessons, he can't help but offer his help lickety split quickly.
This story had all the big feels. It had me giggling out loud, gasping in surprise, tearing up at the vulnerability, and blushing while exclaiming "OMG!". The side characters were supportive, amusing and well written. The found family theme was delightful and is always a welcome trope.
The focus on body-positivity was refreshing, encouraging, and life-affirming. Real life has been seriously lifing lately, so my reading time had to take a little bit of a back seat! But if my schedule had allowed it, I could have easily devoured this in just one or two sittings—it’s that completely addictive.
Now, let’s dive into Dr. Preston Jett & Nanny Mia Thorne. 🩺🇬🇧🇺🇸
Mia travels all the way over from England to NY as a massive favor to her friend Liam, stepping in to nanny for Dr. Jett and his sweet little girl, Lily. Preston is not happy about the sudden setup at first and starts out incredibly reluctant… especially since he quickly gives Mia the nickname “Trouble.” 😉 But Mia honestly shows up at the absolute perfect moment, Preston’s world has been completely upended after his wife walked out on him and Lily.
Mia completely proves herself right from the start. One of my absolute favorite parts of this book was watching the heartwarming, beautiful bond grow between Mia and adorable Lily… she wins her over so fast, and their relationship is just everything! 🥹🤍 She also fits right in with his close circle, making fast friends with April & Callie.
As time goes on, the tension and pure attraction between Preston and Mia starts leaping right off the pages. 📈🔥 And speaking of tension... let’s just say there is a certain post-shower hallway collision that will leave you totally breathless! 👀🔥 He is older, and he is definitely a doctor daddy who hasn’t felt a spark like this in a very long time. 🫦
The real turning point hits when Preston accidentally overhears Mia talking about a naughty bucket list she wants to tick off... and our grumpy doctor is more than willing to step in and give his new nanny some private “lessons.” 🖤📝
Let’s just say Dr. Jett is very naughty and has an extremely filthy, hot mouth. The spice in this book is next-level hot! 🌶️🌶️🌶️ But what I loved even more than the heat was the emotional depth. The way Preston worships Mia’s curves and short-circuits all her old insecurities completely melted me. He literally tells her: "I call you Trouble because you undid me. I had the incredible privilege of beta reading Trouble from Abroad by the wonderful Rachel Kellar, and let me tell you, I am a ride or die fan now!
I absolutely loved our MCs, from their awkward (read as hilarious) encounters to their more serious moments. They definitely had me cracking up and swooning in equal measure, which is really just the perfect romance book.
I loved how Mia was a professional problem solver; seriously, there was nothing that could be thrown at her she couldn’t reach a solution for. I also loved how she was a curvy woman who was learning to love herself the way she was, kinky bucket list and all. The way he WORSHIPPED her and set her ass straight about loving her body was PERFECTION!!!! Probably my favorite line of his was the following:
I love this because in this simple, sexy line he’s telling her to allow herself to be worshipped and want the whole world instead of just putting out to try to get some semblance of respect and love.
Speaking of Mr. Perfect, Preston was legitimately 100% my type. He was older, a little grumpy, and had been THROUGH SOME STUFF. He was also the biggest of consent kings, but also incredibly territorial over his “student”. He was such a complex character who had been mistreated in his marriage, drank to numb himself, had a hit to his work reputation, yet still showed up for his daughter and Mia when it counted. I loved watching him heal throughout the book and get the HEA he so very much deserved.
Holy smokes, y’all! This one was spicy!!! We are talking quantity and quality with the intimate scenes; Rachel truly blessed us!! I really loved how Preston talked Mia through EVERYTHING!! Some books with the sexy lessons trope really drop the ball on the lessons during the intimate scenes, but Preston was nothing if not thorough. And it wasn’t in a clinical way that brought you out of the scene, but in a totally sexy, talking her through it way. I also loved how when they were intimate he told her to teach him too, as in teach him what she liked. I loved this so much because it wasn’t like he was this all-knowing sex god with all the answers, and he WANTED to learn her body. Talk about a green flag MMC!
I need Callie’s book!! She is curvy, outgoing, and confident. She is exactly who I want to be when I’m older and I can’t wait to read her future book!!

After the amazing Boss Abroad, I had high expectations for Trouble Abroad, and it completely blew me away.
What makes this book an absolute masterpiece is how human, grounded, and realistic it feels. These aren’t over-the-top characters; they are everyday people with relatable insecurities, deep thoughts, and genuine emotions.
The dual POV is perfectly written, offering a vulnerable, realistic look into their inner worlds without any unnecessary drama.
I was incredibly refreshed by the role reversal in how emotional vulnerability was handled.
Preston is a highly successful orthopedic surgeon, but he is a major Green Flag MMC. He is a heartbroken single dad trying to navigate his 6-year-old daughter’s trauma and his own life, after his wife's betrayal. Seeing a male lead admit his emotional wounds and actively seek professional help and therapy was profoundly moving.
I also absolutely loved the plus-size/curvy FMC. Mia is an incredible woman. Smart, capable, fiercely independent, a woman who wasn't just a millionaire's assistant, but the one who made the very most of every successful day he had. Υεt beautifully human when facing her own body insecurities. These insecurities about her body are so relatable, and seeing her being so fiercely loved was incredibly empowering.
So we have a gorgeous silver fox and a mature 28-year-old woman.
Their chemistry was absolutely incredible, and the development of their relationship was wonderfully paced and beautifully thought out. The witty banter is top-tier, and while the book is definitely high on the smut/spice scale, the plot is so strong and heartwarming that every single page is worth it.
When it comes to the smut, this is an easy 4.5-5 chili-pepper read!🌶️ It is bold, creative, and far from repetitive. Preston delivers some dirty talk that readers will absolutely love and blush at.
The dialogues weren't just funnυ. They were incredibly smart and sharp, which is so rare nowadays.
If I had to find one tiny flaw, the ending dragged a bit and felt a bit too sweet and "rosy" for my personal taste, but readers who live for an ultra-sweet HEA will absolutely love it.

I really loved the vulnerability of both of these characters and I loved the mental health aspects within this book. Mia found it hard to trust and Preston was putting steps together to put his life back on track. Together these two brought out the best in one another and the relationship with Lily was the sweetest to make them the perfect family.
It was fun catching up with Liam and April again because if you've read Liam he is not someone you will ever forget. I cannot wait for Calista's book as that promises to be a fun read. But for now it's Mia and Preston's moment and they deserve all the love as this was a special, special book. These characters have embedded themselves in my heart and I can't stop thinking about them.

There aren't enough words to describe how much I enjoyed this book. I've been a big fan of Rachel Kellar ever since her debut novel Boss Abroad and so I've been so excited to see what she was going to do next. And boy has she delivered. She has treated us to a beautifully, tender love story with all the deliciously dirty spice and talk that we got a flavour of in her first book. This was perfectly executed and it was addictive. I just couldn't wait to keep turning the pages.
For all the curvy girls out there that have insecurities about their body and hide away, Preston is for you. Trouble from Abroad is a super sweet, cute, funny and spicy read that’s full of heart. It makes for the perfect palate cleanser from dark romance or the perfect read for those who love fluff.
Rachel knows how to write awkward, high-tension moments that have you cringing with second-hand embarrassment, feeling the sexual tension simmering underneath, and then suddenly laughing out loud at the banter or characters’ reactions. That balance of cringe, heat and humour makes the reading experience addictive and so enjoyable.
The chemistry and connection between Preston and Mia is absolutely magnetic, and their push-and-pull dynamic keeps you completely hooked from the start. The emotional tension is scorching, the banter is witty and entertaining, and the found family dynamic is beautifully done. While it takes a good portion of the book to reach the spice, the build-up is handled brilliantly, making the pay-off of about 65 pages of continuous heat, all unfolding over a single afternoon, feel incredibly satisfying. The steamy scenes never feel forced or overpower the romance; instead, they deepen the emotional connection between the characters.
Mia is a curvy, witty ray of sunshine who is highly organised, endlessly lovable and far more deserving of love than she realises. Rachel, reading your books always has me both crying, with emotions and laughter. And, after reading some very heavy books, this is EXACTLY what I needed, Mia and Preston are what I needed.
This is book 2 in an interconnected series (loved Book 1 also) and this time it is Dr Preston Jett, and he has the cutest daughter Lily. He is struggling to return to work following his wife walking out with the son, that wasn't is, and leaving him with their daughter. Preston is the renowned head of the orthopaedic department, but for now, he is barely functioning. His friends, whom are also his colleagues, have been helping, but, what he really needs is Mia. Mia is not a nanny, but she is exactly what Preston and Lily need.
Mia is colour coded, list and organiser extraordinaire, but it is her heart and thoughtfulness for others that leaves our renewed doctor 'Silver Fox" speechless, well that and her luscious curves. But those same curves have Mia self conscious, has she has had pointed out countless times, but, also she wants to 'improve' her sexual acumen. I mean, she has a list. But for Presto, she is the nanny for his daughter, and is helping him get back on track as well, not that it is explicitly stated. And, Mia is his 'little blue pill' wrapped up in dark curls, curves and sarcasm. So, when he 'overhears' her talking to Callie about wanting to hire an escort to help work thru her list, well Preston decides that this is a house call he wants to be a part of. There is so so many absolute laugh out loud moments that I could imagine, and when he talks dirty, oh my, think he just cured my menopausal libido. These two have my heart, Mia was there to help Preston and Lily, but in turn they helped and saved her. Absolutely, and wholeheartedly recommend this for an emotional rom com with extreme spice from a Silver Fox to a Curvy Colour Coded List Planner Extraordinaire with the biggest heart.

Trouble from Abroad had several elements that should have worked for me on paper: a grumpy doctor , a nanny, an age gap, and a curvy heroine. One of the things that immediately caught my attention was the body diversity representation, something that still isn't nearly common enough in mainstream romance.
What I appreciated most was Mia's journey toward self-acceptance. Her insecurities felt genuine, and there were moments where I saw parts of myself in her struggles. The book doesn't simply acknowledge body image issues, it explores how deeply they can affect a person's confidence, relationships, and sense of self-worth. One conversation in particular between Mia and Callie about learning to love the body you're in was easily the standout moment of the book for me. It felt honest, vulnerable, and incredibly meaningful.
Unfortunately, the book never fully came together for me. The pacing was a major issue, as it took a long time for the story to gain momentum and still felt slow even after the romance began developing. I also struggled with parts of the age-gap dynamic. I usually enjoy this trope, so I was surprised that some of Preston's dialogue and inner thoughts didn't quite land well for me. Nothing was necessarily wrong with them or the author itself, they simply didn't resonate with me the way I had hoped.
While this ended up being a 3 star read, I can still see why it will work for many readers. Those who enjoy body-positive romances and stories about learning to see yourself through kinder eyes may find a lot to connect with in Mia's journey. For me, the representation and emotional themes were the highlights, even if the overall story didn't completely live up to its potential.

It’s a 3⭐️ read for me, but I’m bumping this up to 4⭐️’s because this very new author wrote a good story that didn’t have any errors (that I caught at least). I read a lot of there are just so many stories with potential that fall flat because of poor editing. When a book doesn’t have those issues it is so greatly appreciated, especially when it’s a just starting out author.
Overall, this is very well written. The sex scenes are 🌶️ and plentifully, both characters are developed, the plot line is unique, and the side characters are interesting. Liam and April’s story preceded this one and they had enough depth that I’m at least intrigued about their story. Callie, another side character, also intrigued me and if her book was out I’d read it.
I’m rarely a fan of the single parent trope because usually the kids feel just thrown in or the relationship between the kids and the new adult seems to fast to believable. That happens here. Especially with the tattoo scene. Like, who falls so in love with someone else’s kid they get a tattoo? Wild!
Two things to note:
Somethings are mentioned but never resolved.
1. The brother seems just thrown in there. He’s mentioned then gone, never to be brought up again. What a waste of time even learning about him.
2. The plot line with the ex-wife and the half brother is never resolved. Preston mentions that Lily deserves a relationship with her half brother, not once but twice. He mentions still caring for this boy he once thought was his son. Then nothing comes of it. He divorces the ex without her ever returning. Never resolving the situation for him or his daughter. Again, waste of time even learning about this situation as the ex could have just left, she didn’t have to be pregnant too.
All-in-all, I would read the first book in the series about Liam and April. I’d also read Callie’s story if she ever got one. I’m just not rushing off to do so, but I would.

This book is an absolute dream for spice lovers, but underneath all of that chemistry and tension is a love story that completely stole my heart. Because while yes… DAYM 🥵🔥 the spice absolutely delivered, it was the emotional side of this story that really got me.
Watching Mia slowly heal the wounds Preston and Lily carried was beautiful to read. She didn’t just fall in love with Preston — she became part of something bigger. Seeing the walls come down, watching love grow and seeing them become the family they never knew they needed absolutely melted me.
One of my favourite moments was when Mia and Preston faced mocking comments while out together. There was no hesitation, no embarrassment — just immediate instinct to protect and stand up for each other. Those little moments spoke volumes and showed just how deep their feelings were becoming.
And then came the scene that shattered my heart — Preston sitting Lily down and explaining that her mummy wasn’t coming back. That moment hit me right in the chest. It was raw, emotional and one of those scenes that stays with you long after you finish reading.
Preston completely won me over. Protective single dad, older MMC and that filthy mouth? Rachel Keller knew exactly what she was doing.

Loved this one! The banter, the tension! I loved them in and out of the bedroom. Pres and Mia were so opposites when they first meet. She's fun and full of energy and smiling at the world. While Pres is barely crawling out of his misery and is all grumpy energy and confrontation.
To see them peel back those layers and expose their real selves was the best part of this story. Don't get me wrong, the spice is off the charts! Trust me, it you like older MMCs with Dom vibes and like the spice lessons trope, this one is not to be missed.
The side characters were also great. I didn't read book one but wasn't lost reading this one. If anything, you'll be left wanting to read book one and salivating for Callie's story next! This was one of those romcoms you read and legit laugh out loud. The main characters are easy to love and understand why they work so well.
The MMC Doctor Preston Jett has went through a horrible thing as soon as his wife leaves him and their child. He has support from Callie, April, and Liam to push him to be the man and father he needs to be. They bring in the FMC Mia to help him with structure and be there for Lily and Preston.
Lily was helping plan her bday party and that was honestly fitting for anyone who has such drastic difference in taste. It embodied my skeleton riding unicorn inner self 😂
- “Can I have cake pops that look like eyeballs? Just like Halloween?”
“Actually, unicorns, mermaids, and fairies. Uh… Fart noises too. And manatees. And slime. But the slime has to have glitter.”
Now, on to how sweet and genuine Preston was. He didn't take too long to cave and go for what he wants. He was a throughly caring man that said some swoon worthy things to really nail down the green flag book boyfriend.

Mia was such a caring woman who put everyone first and didn't feel truly happy in her body. By the end of this book she was well worshiped and you see her completely come out of her shell.
The only reasons I would say i wasn't a 100% satisfied was
1. the wife that ran away was left as an unknown factor.
2. The mention of Mias brother was left as a huge question mark.

This was one of those romcoms you read and legit laugh out loud. The main characters are easy to love and understand why they work so well.
The MMC Doctor Preston Jett has went through a horrible thing as soon as his wife leaves him and their child. He has support from Callie, April, and Liam to push him to be the man and father he needs to be. They bring in the FMC Mia to help him with structure and be there for Lily and Preston.
Lily was helping plan her bday party and that was honestly fitting for anyone who has such drastic difference in taste. It embodied my skeleton riding unicorn inner self 😂
- “Can I have cake pops that look like eyeballs? Just like Halloween?”
“Actually, unicorns, mermaids, and fairies. Uh… Fart noises too. And manatees. And slime. But the slime has to have glitter.”
Now, on to how sweet and genuine Preston was. He didn't take too long to cave and go for what he wants. He was a throughly caring man that said some swoon worthy things to really nail down the green flag book boyfriend.

Callie is the epitome of “ride or die.” Real, funny, and always in your corner. She is crass, loud and has your back always. already can’t wait for her happily ever after.
