This was such a fun story!!! A fast paced action with FBI agents solving a political mystery involving the FMC deceased grandmother. This is essentially a political thriller with romance interwoven throughout. It will definitely keep readers on the edge of their toes! Another fantastic read from Traci Hunter Abramson and an excellent addition to the Luke Steele series!!

I totally binged this no spice romantic suspense! After being with these MCs for the last two books, I was excited for this last book of the series. The intro immediately hooked me opening with the villain who is seeking revenge for the deaths of her family. Amberlyn is with the FBI and Luke is in the inner circle of the President. The romance was lighter than I expected, especially for this being their third book together, but it was heavy on the political intrigue and 3 letter agencies. I was hooked! I sped though this book - was completely shocked with the twist - and am looking forward to more from this author. The romance is just kisses, intimacy level 1. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

Wow! This Luke Steele series is such a favorite! Silent Strike, the third book in the series, definitely kept me riveted from beginning to end. Traci Hunter Abramson brilliantly weaves together a fast-paced, ripped from today’s headlines thriller with espionage, a dangerous poison, & two government agents who are just trying to enjoy the holidays & deepen their relationship. With sweet romance, nail-biting suspense, & an intriguing mystery involving secret Russian agents, this story was unputdownable!
Amberlyn & Luke are looking forward to celebrating Christmas together. As their relationship has gone from colleagues to friends to more, Luke’s hoping to make the leap to boyfriend/girlfriend. But when Amberlyn receives a strange package from her recently deceased grandmother, she’s intrigued by the jewelry her grandma never wore & obituaries of several people whose deaths seem unrelated. As she digs deeper, she uncovers secrets involving her grandmother’s hidden past as a government agent, secrets someone doesn’t want revealed. As Amberlyn & Luke track down each clue, the threats & danger escalate, & it’ll take all their wits & expertise to uncover the dangerous mole who could bring down the entire government.
I adored this story! I loved the way the author balanced edge-of-your-seat suspense with a sweet, kisses-only romance. I’ve been cheering for Luke & Amberlyn to grow closer, & despite all the danger surrounding them, I loved their budding romance & experiencing the Christmas season with them.
I enjoyed reading from three different POVs, Amberlyn’s, Luke’s, & the villain’s. The deadly poison that killed the agents is terrifying, & knowing it’s based on an actual threat was frightening. I loved the cat-and-mouse games as Luke & Amberlyn try to stay one step ahead of a secret enemy agent determined to keep her secrets buried.

-Og my goodness, SILENT STRIKE, is such a thrilling story of an adventure, that’s filled so precisely with hidden alliances, political corruption, suspicious deaths, danger reaching all the way to the White House, and with plenty of twists and tension along the way. I loved the unique premises to this story and how family history and family is weaved within the roots to this story. Watching dear characters choose to bravely trust, protect, heal from past experiences and struggles to connect, and move forward with hope for the future. I loved also how this story has just the right blend of suspense, mystery, danger, and sparks of building romance to hold my attention, keep me engaged and invested on the edge of my seat, but not to keep me up all night with nervousness or stress. Goodness, the Luke Steele Series is such a great series and just keeps getting better! I would greatly suggest reading in order for best enjoyment. My friends, SILENT STRIKE, is a thrilling story worth reading!📚‼️

My rating: 4.0
This is the 3rd in the Luke Steele series and each one seems to get better. I particularly enjoyed seeing the relationship between Luke and Amberlyn continue to develop and that this book was set primarily in the U.S. as opposed to the prior book set in Turkey. The mystery gets more and more complicated and the danger is ramped up so the book was fun to read.

The Debrief: @traciabramson kept me on the edge of my seat and I could not put this down. Romantic suspense queen. For realsies. Fantastic. Addicting. I couldn’t wait for the bad guys to be discovered and can I rant for a minute? I DO NOT LIKE Ian. BIG meanie. Can we please have the President give him the cut direct? Can he be the bad guy that gets taken out next? Bathroom duty? Transferred to the DMV? Job level boils?
Meanwhile… Captain Luke Steele makes a military aide totally dreamy and Amberlyn his perfect match. I love their unfailing trust in each other and their invitation into the inner circle of the White House. I am completely obsessed with these two and their ability to do hard things together. You want to know them. Trust me.

Another heart-pounding success from the queen of romantic suspense!
I think Silent Strike is my favorite Luke Steele book to date. Infiltration in the White House staff. Russian spies. Poisons. Edge-of-Your-Seat Suspense. Conspiracy dating back to the '80s.I was intrigued from start to finish. As always, I loved getting the villain's POV, and while we get his/her POV, we don't know all the pieces and what role she plays. Traci unwraps the mystery bit by bit, until we get the complete picture by the end.
Definitely recommend Silent Strike, her newest amazing suspenseful book in the Luke Steele series.
Can be read as a standalone, however, there are slight spoilers in this one for the previous ones in the series and the romance builds in each book.

This was an exciting read. Right from the start you get caught up in the story and the intrigue. It was so hard to put this one down. I would have given it 5 stars but I get so frustrated with Luke’s insecurities that I had to give it an only 4 stars. He is not as hung up in his head as the last couple of books but still a little prone to the “i am not worthy” syndrome. I am happy to hear he is getting therapy and hope in future books (figures crossed that there are more in this series) maybe he can leave self recrimination behind. Luke and Amberlyn are a very dynamic duo, although sometimes they seem to miss some obvious clues, Amberlyn’s boss is a real piece of work and sometimes is more of a distraction that is needed in the story. The connection to the White House does seem a little unrealistic but I just went with it and enjoyed the ride.

The best so far in the Luke Steele series. This book sees Amberlyn and Luke looking into a mystery connected to her grandmother's death (good family history angle). Of course, just poking around with the right questions brings danger. As always, good details about the procedures at the FBI, CIA, and White House lend credibility to Abramson's exciting stories.

I was hooked on this book from the very first page. I read it all in one day. It's so good, I didn't want to put it down!
Luke and Amberlyn are back for another mystery. I love the way they work together to find out just what is going on and why. But I also love that there's a bit of romance going on in the quiet times.
Amberlyn receives a mysterious box from her late grandma. Things just seem off with a few of the things in it. And pretty soon, Amberlyn is engrossed in the mystery and she draws Luke into it with her.
Luke checks on things that Amberlyn can't during his downtime. But when he realizes that Amberlyn is in danger, he insists that she can't stay alone. And he's right there with her in all of the danger.
I love the way the reader knows just who the bad guy is, but the characters don't. It's kind of sad when all you can do as a reader is yell at the characters to not do something, and they NEVER listen to you!

Abramson has hit it out of the park with Silent Strike! This next novel in the Luke Steele series is unputdownable! It centers around the mystery of Amberlyn’s grandmother and the things she left to her after she passed away. Who really was her grandma? Why did she leave her these specific things? Luke and Amberlyn find themselves pulled straight into harm’s way with no idea why. There is action, suspense, mystery, with a side of romance! The perfect combination while the reader tries to solve the mystery alongside Luke and Amberlyn. Abramson keeps the pace fast and the danger high! Another great installment to the Luke Steele series! I think this one might be my favorite so far!
Luke and Amberlyn do not live a quiet, peaceful life, certainly not in their line of work. But after just coming off a high profile case, both are hoping to settle in for the holidays and get a little rest. Along with exploring where their relationship is heading. But, an unusual package from her grandmother has Amberlyn investigating yet another potential case… one that involves lots of secrets, poison, and a bunch of murders. But what connection do these have with her family? Is she reading into something that isn’t there? One pink box spirals into a massive investigation where danger lurks behind every corner.
I really liked this story! It was fast paced and kept you on the edge of your seat. The plot flowed smoothly and was engaging. I liked getting a little more background into Amberlyn and her family-there were some interesting surprises along the way. Luke and Amberlyn’s relationship progresses some more in this book too which I loved and of course seeing them work together was awesome. They make a really great team! Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

I liked getting a little more background into Amberlyn and her family-there were some interesting surprises along the way. Luke and Amberlyn’s relationship progresses some more in this book too which I loved and of course seeing them work together was awesome. They make a really great team! Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Silent Strike
by Traci Hunter Abramson is the third book in the Luke Steel series. It features Steele, a marine captain and military aide to President Frazier as well as Amberlyn Reiner, an FBI special agent with one of the FBI’s behavioral analysis units. On Christmas Eve, Amberlyn receives an unmarked box containing her recently deceased grandmother’s jewelry from Eastern Europe along with documents and obituaries linking a string of suspicious deaths. As Amberlyn investigates, Luke helps, and they’re drawn into the world of hidden agendas and spies that threaten the stability of the entire nation.
Luke has a dry sense of humor, listens when others need to talk things out, has a fierce sense of loyalty, and is caring and patriotic. He’s also analytical, protective, duty-bound, and has a high degree of integrity. However, he feels he’s not worthy of notice and can be hard to read. Amberlyn is smart, kind, and insightful. She’s also resourceful, collaborative, and resilient. The antagonist is ambitious, ruthless, and manipulative. Their characterization, along with that of the secondary characters, is excellent.
The novel starts with an intriguing prologue and continues with investigations, suspense, and action. The author does a great job building suspense until it culminates in an action-packed ending. Readers get insight into events and operations in the White House as well as both Luke’s and Amberlyn’s jobs. A large part of this novel is the investigation and its discoveries. Readers know in the prologue who the main antagonist is, but that doesn’t deter from the reading experience. Fast pacing, intense physical stakes, a sweet slow-burn romance, and the inclusion of Cold War-era secrets, family history, and documents added another layer of depth to the story. Additionally, this book weaves in White House protocols and military duties with authenticity.
Overall, this excellent political thriller with a touch of romance was full of mystery, suspense, and action. I can’t wait to read more of this author’s backlist of novels. She is a superb storyteller who kept me on the edge of my seat with gripping scenes and a twisty plot. It was a riveting story full of drama, action, and interesting characters, with suspenseful moments that made it an enthralling read. The trilogy works best if read in order. This will help them understand the relationship dynamics and previous character growth. My one disappointment is that this seems to be the end of this series.

Not my favorite of her books. I feel like there were too many potholes and unrealistic scenarios, even for Traci books.
How did Kimberly and "Sandra" never run into each other by both being in the high ranking political scene? How did Amberlyn really survive like 8 different assassination attempts? Why didn't Amberlyn's grandma didn't just like....include pictures of Sandra and Sasha in that pink shoebox, or tell someone as soon as she figured it out, rather than send the pictures to Europe and make her granddaughter go on a wild goose chase? And if she was researching the toxin, why wasn't she being like way more careful about what she ate? Also, the casual way the President is going ABOVE AND BEYOND for housing for them was a bit outlandish and inviting them to breakfast and dinner etc...it was just too unrealistic. Ian's character felt very bipolar from previous books, but also just within the middle of the book to the end of the book Ian. And why didn't any police officers join the shootout in the garage when they heard gunshots? And why didn't Jensen help more if he literally told Luke he would help if Luke helped him to the guard station?
I had thoughts like this the whole time I was reading and it just distracted A BIT from the story line.
What did I like?
I like that Amberlyn and Luke have a deeper relationship than just meeting, falling in love in 2 weeks and getting married. Nice to see a relationship move slowly and develop feelings.
Well....at first I didn't like that we knew Sandra was the villain from the first page because normally I like discovering who that is without being told. However, the plot twist that Sandra is Sasha and Sasha is Sandra was awesome. I did not see that coming. And I really liked that.

This book is the third in the adventures featuring Luke Steele and Amberlyn Reiner. He is a Marine Captain and military aide to the President of the United States. She is an FBI Special agent who specializes in domestic terrorism. I’ve enjoyed the previous two thrillers and read this one in almost one sitting.
Amberlyn’s aunt sends her a box that belonged to her grandmother. It had a scarf and hat that she liked to dress up in when she was a child. But also inside is some eastern european jewelry. When her apartment is broken into and items taken Amberlyn isn’t sure if this is a new case or something tied to the terrorist group they recently stopped. The mystery deepens as they realize that her grandmothers’ travels to Europe decades ago were not vacations.
The reader knows early who is behind the current plot but not all the reasons why. Attacks and information come quickly with life and death consequences. It is my personal pet peeve that the series is named for the male lead and not for Ambrelyn. Especially in this novel where she is really the focus and takes out more of the baddies than he does. But that is an issue for me.
I enjoyed the book and the old Cold War vibes. The romance between the leads continues to grow too. I had to remind myself that although in my time it has been two years since I started the series. In book time only a few months have passed since the couple first met. This is kissing only with no bad language. There is violence and death appropriate with a thriller spy story. This was a definite page turner! I was so happy to be back with Luke and Amberlyn, waiting impatiently to see what the next step in their relationship would be and what kind of trouble these two would find themselves in again!

This was a page turner for sure. As a romance reader, it felt less like a romance since Luke and Amberlyn's relationship is a continuation of one we were already familiar with. Instead, it leaned more into the thriller, mystery and suspense side, but truthfully, it kept me engaged, and that's saying something!
I'm curious what's next. The discussion questions in the back asked who we'd want a story from next, and part of me thinks Ian. I’m loving this Luke Steele series, and Silent Strike is my favorite so far! I made the illogical decision to start reading this one late at night (yes, I know better 😂), and I finished it the next day because I couldn’t put it down.
The first page pulled me right in, and things really didn’t let up until the end. Who knew a box of mementos from your grandma could lead to trying to stop a national crisis?! What starts with Amberlyn receiving her grandmother’s jewelry, coded documents, and some old obituaries turns into something much bigger—and much more dangerous.
I liked knowing who the bad guy was. Seeing what was happening on both sides heightened the suspense for me because I knew what was coming, and I couldn't wait to see how Luke and Amberlyn were going to figure it all out and bring it to an end.
I loved watching Luke and Amberlyn work together. They make a great team, and I really liked how much they support and trust each other. And then there’s Ian. I have questions about Amberlyn’s boss, and I really need to know what is going on there! I’m hoping we get some answers in the next book because now I’m invested in that mystery too. This was another fantastic addition to the series, and I’m officially ready for the next one.

This story begins with a faults impression, thinking this will be the long awaited romance between Luke and Amberlyn. After the previous two books,they could use a little downtime to relax and date. But true to Ms. Abramsons exceptional suspense and intricate stories, this couple does not have time to rest and relax. When Amberlyn receives a package in the mail from her recently deceased grandmother, the intrigue and investigations begin. This will send you into an active espionage operation that is rooted deep in the US government. The story had me anticipating every turn of the page. It is an action pack story that discreetly deals with perilous situations and injuries. It is suspenseful and may have some trigger warnings for PTSD readers. Happily, it does find time for some sweet romance for Luke and Amberlyn. This is the third book of the series and although it’s possible to read it as a standalone, I highly suggest reading the series in order, you won’t be disappointed. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book deserves the title silent strike- it will silently strike its way to the top of your TBR and demand to be bought!
The suspense in this book was top notch! It had a fresh and creative premise, where Amberlyn’s grandmother ends up helping Luke and Amberlyn with a case, essentially from the grave. I loved the multigenerational suspense aspect! And as usual, I loved our resident ultra-American bad guy fighting pair.
Amberlyn and Luke’s relationship also got some traction going into the book, which was delightful to read about! It’s been fun following their love story across multiple novels. The romance pacing feels appropriate for them since they are each trying to heal from their own trauma and find connection despite their crazy jobs.
Some other highlights included:
- Creepy POVs from our resident evil lady
- All the buddy buddy scenes with Mr. President
- Tie-ins and continuity between past books!
- Ian, the worst boss ever. I love how much he bothers Amberlyn! She can take out bad guys but hates check ins with Ian 😂

Luke and Amberlyn are back safely in Washington, but before long both are forced to confront the question of whether they really are safe. When an unexpected final gift from Amberlyn's dead grandmother turns out to include not only some strange jewellery but also obituaries and notes on several deaths that sound oddly like her own, Amberlyn starts digging for answers - and the answers threaten someone who can't afford to be found. As the danger escalates, the pair work together again to try to unravel the mystery, but will they be in time? Or is their hope for a deeper relationship doomed?
An exciting read combining a spy with a deep-laid plot, two unsuspecting investigators and a deepening relationship that's overcoming the odds. I did feel that the idea of them surviving the last attack given the odds against them was somewhat improbable, but despite that it was very satisfying to see the good win out against hidden bad (though I did appreciate that even the bad had understandable motives that I could somewhat sympathise with). The 'finalisation' of their relationship, while it's clearly still a work in progress, was lovely to see after all Luke's doubts and complemented the more active side of things nicely. All in all, a great read - recommended.

I received an ARC through "NetGalley" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This story begins with Amberlyn receiving a box with items from her grandmother who had died earlier. As she sorted through the box she came discovered items that seemed out of place. They included jewelry, news clippings and other items. After doing a little investigating, she told Luke about it, and so begins an adventure which places Amberlyn and Luke in danger and eventually leads to a connection to all the individuals identified in the box received as being related. Once Luke brought this attention to the White House, it opened a situation once it was determined that all of those individuals that had died were poisoned by an unknown agent.
Read along and discover along with both Luke and Amberlyn who was trying to have them killed, who was behind the attempts and what other information Amberlyn's grandmother provided which which ultimately led to a confrontation which provided a closing to the case.
The story will definitely keep you interest and is well worth the read. Don't miss out!
