For readers who loved The Edge of Darkness Trilogy and The Words, REQUIEM is a haunting second-chance romance about a spiraling rockstar, the woman he left behind, and the powerful forces that never truly let him go.

Jude Graves survived Alexei Morozov. But some horrors don’t end when the chains come off.

The months Jude spent in captivity left scars deeper than anyone can see. His sense of self is slipping, and his friends fear he may never be the same.

Emma Easton refuses to let him disappear. But rebuilding the man she loves means going to war with the monster who broke him. Alexei built his empire on murder, manipulation, and fear.

Surrounded by people who know how to wield weapons, Emma uses the only one she has to help bring Jude back:

Her mind.

But destroying Alexei’s empire could bury them all. And when he retaliates with one final act of devastation, Jude and Emma are forced into a final battle against the darkness that nearly destroyed them both.

Because this time, they aren’t fighting just to survive. They’re fighting to take everything back.

Escaping the darkness was never the end of Jude’s story.

Learning how to live again is.

THE CROWNED MONSTERS DUET is my debut work as a dark romance author. It has since been re-released with updates and corrections.

THE FALLING STAR TRILOGY is a dark rockstar romance with thriller elements.

I'm Adeline and I'm a 31 year old dark romance author who started out writing spice-heavy work (CMD), then soon pivoted to more emotionally heavy work (FST). My work is ever-growing as I continue to hone my craft and figure out what kind of writing resonates best.

When I'm not writing classically "unhinged," morally ambiguous characters, I'm living a private life in the US with my husband and cat.

I am forever grateful for everyone who has picked up my stories and given them a chance. Thank you so much for supporting me on this incredible journey.

Wow, wow, wow!!! This series, this book 😭 so many emotions. What a way to end this trilogy 🖤

Jude Graves. JUDE frkn Graves 😭

This book was harder for me to get through than book 1 & 2. The emotional trauma and healing journey was an uphill battle for not just Jude, but Emma too. It was heartbreakingly beautiful to watch them navigate both individually and together on this painful journey.

I truly loved Emma’s grit and determination in her steadfast love for Jude. She never wavered. Not once. Not only that but she changed from an innocent woman to a fierce and brave warrior for the ones she loved. Her character development throughout the series was inspiring to read.

Jude 😭 I love this man. This poor broken boy. He fought so hard. I loved his pure, raw will to just survive.

Micah, Heather, Rafe and Adela.. fantastic characters! I’m definitely going to be reading Rafe’s book soon. Micha and Heather, I adore them. Especially Micah. His bond with Jude was so special. I’m really hoping to get more of Micah’s story…?? Maybe?

The real surprise for me was Adriana. I don’t want to give spoilers but, wow! Talk about emotional!

The overall experience in book 3 was an emotional roller coaster with a few twists that gave my heart whiplash😭 I laughed a little, cried a lot, grieved, cheered for them, and cried some more.

Adeline’s writing is beautiful. Although this series and especially this book was painful to read, it was real and raw and a beautiful story of hope. I will never forget these characters and their story 🥺

Huge thanks to author Adeline Humphries for this early read 🫶🏻

What a journey.

After everything Jude and Emma endured throughout this series, Requiem delivered exactly what I wanted: a happily ever after that felt completely earned.

Nothing was handed to them. Every moment of happiness came after heartbreak, sacrifice, growth, and impossible choices. That is what made the ending so satisfying. By the time I reached the final page, I wasn’t emotional because I was devastated. I was emotional because I had lived every step of this journey alongside them and finally got to watch them find peace.

Adeline Humphries crafted a conclusion that honored everything that came before it. The love, the pain, the healing, the hope. Every piece mattered.

A beautiful, satisfying conclusion to a story I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Six stars. Every single one of them deserved

Requiem by Adeline Humphries is the third and final book in her Falling Star Trilogy. Book three finds our main characters struggling to keep their love and friend alive and bring him back to himself after extreme trauma caused a dangerous dissociative state. No one can deny that Jude has suffered greatly. Not only in a physical sense but mentally and emotionally as well. I knew the first half of this book would be slower than the others because Humphries took the time to really have the characters work with Jude to not only try to control his withdrawal, but also the deep conditioning associated with Emma.

The plot and resolution of the main problem was expected and definitely had me on the edge of my seat. I think truly the highlight of this book is character driven growth and development intertwined with the plot.

Jude's journey back to himself was intense. I think the most intense part was forgiving himself and others and finally making peace with that portion of his life in order to have the future he always wanted. The last 15% of this book had me crying multiple times. It was so deep to be connected to a character and watch them grow and bloom into the person you knew he was deep down.

Emma really shined in the first half of the book. She was able to really compartmentalize her feelings to be able to correctly handle the things Jude needed to heal and her role in those things. Emma is just solid and loves with her whole heart. I love her new friendship with Micah and the way she unwaveringly she is there for Jude this whole book.

Micah had his own healing journey too. He was a huge source of strength for both Jude and Emma but was able to lean on Heather for support when his own cup needed to be filled. Heather there for Micah in every way possible and their relationship was so sweet to watch progress. I love that Micah isn't scared to show up and show his feelings for those he loves. He was a great supporting character for the story.

I was the biggest Adriana hater even through book two. I was very wary of her and it was hard to separate her previous actions from the character she was becoming. To understand her is to fully grasp the fact that she herself was taken and abused from the age of 15 on. It doesn't excuse what she did, but I do understand she loved Jude in the way she thought love was. I have made peace with her character and can appreciate her role in this book.

Overall this was a high stakes story and an even more highly emotional journey. Humphries gave her characters depth and the plot steadily moved. The spice ratio was spot on and placed appropriately to the story. I look forward to reading more from Adeline in the future.

A Finale Worth Every Tear 🖤

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Book Review: Requiem by Adeline Humphries

When I started this trilogy, I never imagined I'd become so attached to Jude and Emma. Finishing Requiem was bittersweet because I wasn't ready to let them go.
This book took me through every emotion possible. I smiled, I cried, I held my breath, and there were so many moments that had me completely invested. I found myself rooting for these characters from beginning to end.
What I loved most was watching how much Jude had grown. His journey wasn't easy, but it felt real, and that made every step of it meaningful. Emma's strength and loyalty never wavered, and together they reminded me why I fell in love with this series.
The story is emotional, raw, and beautifully written. Every challenge the characters faced made their victories feel earned, and the ending left me feeling both emotional and satisfied. It wrapped up their story in a way that felt true to everything they'd been through.

What I Loved
🖤 The emotional depth.
❤️ Jude and Emma's relationship.
📖 The character growth.
✨ A finale that stayed true to the story.
😭 An ending that had me feeling everything.
My Ratings
⭐ Overall: 5/5
❤️ Romance: 5/5
😭 Emotional Impact: 5/5
📚 Reread: Absolutely.
👥 Would I Recommend It? Without hesitation.

Final Thoughts
Requiem is one of those books that stays with you after you've finished the last page. Saying goodbye to Jude and Emma wasn't easy, but I'm so glad I went on this journey with them.
If you enjoy emotional romances with unforgettable characters and hard-earned happy endings, this series is one I highly recommend.
Thank you, Adeline Humphries, for creating a story I'll be thinking about for a long time. 🖤

This was such an emotional and heartbreaking conclusion to Jude and Emma’s story. Watching Jude struggle with the aftermath of everything he endured was difficult to read, and I appreciated that the author didn’t shy away from showing the long lasting effects of his trauma. Emma’s determination to fight for the man she loves was easily one of the strongest parts of the book, and I loved seeing her strength shine in a different way.

That said, the pacing didn’t completely work for me. The first half of the book felt like it dragged on quite a bit. I understand that Jude needed time to recover and that healing isn’t something that happens overnight, but it felt like the story spent a long time in that space and then suddenly rushed to the finish line. Once things finally started moving, the ending came together very quickly and I found myself wishing there had been more of a transition period before everything wrapped up.

I also found it a little distracting how often hands and arms were resting on knees and thighs throughout the book. After a while I couldn’t stop noticing it every time it appeared.

Overall, this was a powerful story about survival, healing, and taking back what was stolen. While the pacing wasn’t always my favorite, I was still invested in Jude and Emma’s journey and wanted to see them finally get the ending they fought so hard to earn.

My rating: INFINITE⭐️

OH MY GOD!!! @adelinehumphries girl I don’t even know what to say about this book! It destroyed me and repaired my heart the whole time and I found myself wanting to turn every single page quicker than the one before bc all I wanted to do was get to their HEA, but not wanting to finish the book, just not ready to say goodbye to Jude and Emma just yet😭

The way this book was written was absolutely incredible, I don’t think I’ll ever read another book as well written as this entire series. You are there through every moment beside not only Jude and Emma, but the side characters: Micah, Heather, Rafe, Adela… and even Adrianna, it took me so long to change my view on her but my god it changed by the end😭

I will NEVER stop thinking about this book, it’s engrossed so heavily into my brain that I will live with it forever. Beyond excited to get this series etched into my skin forever when I get my tattoo dedicated to this absolutely incredible series😍

@adelinehumphries you are a remarkable writer, thank you so much for the honour of reading this fantastic finale to this incredible series as an ARC! Can’t wait to read whatever you publish next!✨🖤🖤

Theres not many series out there where every single book is a 5 star. I think the only other one ive ever done that with is Frederic backmans beartown.
This was an absolutely incredible series, 3 books was the absolute perfect amount. I loved the little memory time hops where you got to know the characters past that way instead of a whole book dedicated to it. It was just perfectly structured and this book didn't disappoint. It had everything and the conclusion to Emma and Jude's story couldn't of been more perfect.
The found family in this also stood out, in fact you just end up loving all the characters. This book had me absolutely sobbing at points and for me that's always a five star but more than that this has to be in my top reads for this year because of how it made me feel and also think about what these stars actually go through.
I will miss all these characters but I'm now about to dive into rafes story because I just can't stop thinking about this man lol (sorry Jude)
5 star perfection ⭐⭐⭐

Screaming crying throwing up over this fucking trilogy 😭

I was stalking the HELL out of Adeline’s TikTok account waiting for new teasers before this book’s release and this surpassed any expectations I had. The ending to Jude and Emma’s story was perfectly crafted. It was everything I could’ve wanted for them and was so beautifully written.

Sweet Jude worked so fucking hard to work through the immense damage that had been done. And then Emma… her strength that she found in this book is something else.

The Edge of Darkness is my top series and I’ve been chasing that high ever since I read it. So when I saw this series was for fans of EOD I was like okay, don’t get your hopes up, let’s just see what it’s about… when I tell you this series had me in its fucking grasp it is not an understatement. I lost sleep. I cried. I laughed. I clutched my pearls. My black little heart broke, only to be put back together again.

Kade Mitchell hangs out in the depths of my brain and I know he and Jude Graves will now be chillin together in there. I won’t ever forget this trilogy. 🖤

This is a five star series. At first, I wasn’t too sure if it was really into Jude and Emma story. It was good, and Jude was the perfect balance of bad boy meets tragic anti hero, but there was something that kept me from being completely immersed in their heartbreaking world. However, as the series continued I was subtly pulled in and I eventually found myself completely trapped in their story of pain and survival, and wow what a story it is!

I loved every page Micah was on. He is just great, and his understated strength is a shining light in this incredibly dark and heavy story. I also found myself wishing that there was more to Rafe and Adela’s story. They have their own series guys! I will immediately be reading that duet next because those two were some of the most interesting and amazing characters ever.

This series was difficult to read at times, but was an emotional journey through darkness, pain, love, loss, and rebirth. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A trilogy that will live rent free in my head forever. I don’t even have words. An emotional battlefield in the best way. The way I was just rooting for these characters and felt everything they were feeling is something not a lot of authors do for me and it was done!
The ending was so pure and beautiful and everything I needed.
The healing in this book 😭 Jude’s ability to fight through it all and come out on top. Emma’s never ending, never wavering love and support for him through all of the horrors.
Micah and Jude’s friendship 😭 Emma and Heather’s friendship 😭 it’s all too good, I miss these fictional people already.
I knew Adriana was going to get me and she did, I hurt for her after despising her.

Requiem by Adeline Humphries
🖤 Jude and Emma 🖤

Requiem is the conclusion to The Falling Star trilogy and I could not have asked for a better ending for these two after so.much.pain.

Starting where Resonance left off, we find Jude and Emma together, but never farther apart. While Dissonance and Resonance were a fight for survival, Requiem is a fight for love, a fight for a future they no longer believed they’d have.

I laughed, I definitely cried, I raged, and I kicked my feet a time or two cause 😮‍💨.

I can’t wait to see what Adeline Humphries has in store next, but, after a quick break for something lighthearted, I’ll be going back to read Rafe and Adela’s story 🥰.

“And even after seeing the worst parts of me,” he continues. “The ugliest fucking parts, you still look at me like I’m worth loving.”

Wow this is how you end a dark romance trilogy. Right off the batt, we are thrown back into Jude’s world (where we left off in the second book) and are finally getting him out! The emotional roller coaster this book took me was absolutely everything. The found family. The healing. The “it’s always been you” love. Everything!! Yeah this is my fave of the series.

Thank you Adeline for letting me read the arc for this book and enjoy this rockstar romance journey with you!

HOLY SHITTTTTTTTTT reading slump is cured omg nothing like a haunting second chance emotionally destroying trilogy to set me back in my reading ways. I was hooked from the first book I flew through this trilogy like it was no one’s business, it’s definitely similar to EOD but it has its own soul and I loved that about it. It wasn’t just a copy and paste it was its own and it was so fucking good. Emma and Jude I love them so much. This book made me feel things and that’s how I love my books…to emotionally wreck me and put me back together. This trilogy deserves all the love and I’m so grateful I picked it up. 🩶🎸 I will definitely re read at some point because i miss them already.

Oh my god…..words cannot describe my love for this trilogy. I was selected for her ARC team and oh boy, I don’t think I’ll ever recover. If you thought the first two were heartbreaking, you’ll need a box of tissues reading the final book. This book was the perfect ending to an amazing story of Emma and Jude, also Micah and Heather. Then in comes Rafe 🥵🥵🥵🥵. I will never not think of this series. This has now become my favorite rockstar romance. If you love The Edge of Darkness Trilogy by Leigh Rivers and The Words by Ashley Jade, this would be their love child!! ♾️ stars!! I cannot wait to see this series blow up!!

Its hard to put into words without spoiling everything just how much I love this triology.

I cannot recommend it enough. Its literally become a roman empire series for me.

Jude and Emma have a once in a lifetime love and the ride is so wild. This will break your heart but put you together again. It’ll make you feel things you didn’t think you would and you will fall for these characters and their growth throughout it all.

I love that this became a multiple POV series where you get Jude, Emma, Micah and Adrianna…you see it through every lens and it just makes you understand it all that much more.

This is a heavy book so please check those triggers.

Things you can expect:

🎸Multiple POV
🖤 Secondchance Romance
🎸Rockstar Romance
🖤 Addiction Rep
🎸Mental Health Rep
🖤 Organized Crime
🎸Healing ARCs
🖤 Redemption ARCs
🎸Revenge
🖤An HEA after all the trauma

♾️ ⭐... Phenomenal!
This is dark traumatic romance perfection!

I don’t rate 5 stars easily but this whole series is infinity stars for me! The writing style is effortless and emotive, I was consumed by these characters and I genuinely felt all the emotions going through this.

It's been a long time since I've been so invested in a series & while it did give me Edge of Darkness vibes... for me personally, I enjoyed it more than that & I felt more invested in the characters.

Easily my new favourite dark romance series! 🖤
