Good book for your children. It will teach them quite a bit about lions, heck it taught me a few things.
Goodall writes such that the book is an easy read for those children who can read and won't frustrate those parents who have to read the book to their children. As well the photographs used for the book are colourful and large enough that you can actually see what is going on. All in all a good addition to your childrens' book library, and an educational one to put. Does life get much better. Happy reading.

A wonderful book for an older child. Jane Goodall writes sympathetically and matter of factly about the life of a pride of lions. She neither dwells nor glosses over the hunting required to feed the pride.

Great book for kids with some interesting facts. I had no idea that they barely exist in the wild.

A charming collection of science books that are actually geared toward younger audiences so they can learn about some of Africa's more famous creatures when they are younger. Clear and easy to read Jane Goodall shares with us her talent for educating the world without drowning you in too much information while at the same time sharing breathtaking pictures that put you right in their world.

Out of her Animal Series book I don't think the lion was actually really done as well or followed the same guidelines as the other baby animals presented. The majority of the book was originally given at first to just main lion facts before finally bringing in family life.

Another thing I found disappointing in this particular book was that lions are known for their males while in discussing the world of lions Jane often mentioned Leo and Simba who were the pride males but they are never seen in any pictures with the pride while only gets a picture at the end of the book.

All in all it will be an enjoyable book for any young children who are interested in looking at wild animals while getting to read a book directed towards their age group.

These are really nicely-presented little books, each following a different African animal. The animal’s habits, behavior, and role in nature all discussed, along with color photos. By focusing on a single baby animal and his relation to the world around him, Goodall has presented an engaging and sympathetic series. Children who love animals (and how many don’t?) will enjoy these books.
