Carlie, along with Shane, Jared, and the rest of her eclectic group endure a nightmarish struggle to survive in the Caribbean on a grueling trek that will test their fortitude, battling zombies and hostile bands of humans along the way. Eliza Huntington, the president’s daughter, has her own harrowing journey to make after Air Force One goes down in Idaho and she is forced to adapt in ways she never imagined. Eventually the fates of both parties intertwine in an explosive battle where tactics and firepower may not be enough to defeat the unspeakable horrors that await them.
Still like the characters, but I think I am done with this series. I am skipping a lot to find the good parts or just to get the story to move along. I think there is only one book left. Not sure I will read.
Another great addition to the Carlie Simmons series! Just as fast-paced as usual. The characters and dialogue really keep the story moving, and are interesting and funny. Quite a few highlightable quotes in this edition. Only issues I could find were slight. Such as calling the infected persons "deeks" when it's never been established that they do, in fact, decompose. All the reader has been led to believe thus far is that they have wrinkled or smooth yellow skin and that they are "on the knife's edge" of alive or dead. The other issue is with Carlie stating that she only ever wears a little eye shadow once in awhile. That's not a good makeup choice. More like perhaps a little mascara, or lipstick, or maybe even eyeliner, once in awhile. Maybe Sawyer didn't consult a woman on this one? ;)
