Gary Chatham is the author of Dadisms: An Unlikely Journey Inspired by a Father's Wisdom, a heartfelt memoir that explores the life lessons, resilience, and perspective he gained from his father's timeless "dad-vice."
Raised on a horse farm in rural Illinois, Gary's journey has taken him from the world of polo and business leadership to marathon finish lines, nonprofit fundraising, and RV adventures across America. Along the way, he discovered that some of life's most valuable lessons come not from textbooks or TED Talks, but from the simple wisdom passed from one generation to the next.
A lifelong runner, Gary has completed half marathons across 46 states, the Boston Marathon, the Pikes Peak Ascent, and the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon. He is also the founder of Race To Cure Lymphoma, a nonprofit organization that raised more than $125,000 for lymphoma-related causes.
The idea for Dadisms emerged during a training run and eventually became a reflection on perseverance, purpose, gratitude, and legacy. Through his writing, Gary hopes to encourage readers to recognize the impact of the people who shaped their lives and to discover the stories hidden within their own journeys.
Gary and his wife Linda live in St. Charles, Missouri, where they continue to pursue new adventures with their Welsh Corgi, Sierra.
