This book was such a fun and heartwarming read! I flew through this book because it was romantic, lighthearted, and full of small town charm.

This is the third book in the Colburn Brothers series and follows Hazel and Tucker in a second chance romance that completely stole my heart. As teenagers, they were best friends, but after something happened, Hazel left town and didn't return for a decade. When she finally comes back, it quickly becomes clear that the chemistry between them never disappeared.

Tucker was everything I wanted in a hero. A firefighter who has been in love with Hazel for ten years? Yes, please! He is loyal, patient, caring, and willing to fight for the woman he loves. I absolutely adored him.

Hazel was a much more complex character. She is fiercely independent and struggles with believing she deserves love or happiness, which added an emotional layer to the story. Watching her slowly open her heart and confront her fears made her journey feel authentic and rewarding.

The humor, banter, and chemistry between Hazel and Tucker kept me turning the pages, while the small town setting added the perfect cozy atmosphere. Their history, friendship, and undeniable connection made it easy to root for them from the very beginning.

This book hooked me right from the beginning. I absolutely loved the humor and chemistry between Tucker and Hazel. Honestly, Hazel's relationship with everyone in this book was really fun to read because she has so much personality to her.

I flew through this book so fast and it's gotten me excited for more books from Shalvis. This is the type of writing I love to read from her - something lighthearted, humorous and romantic. I hope that Shalvis will stick to this style of writing and this publisher as it reminds me of the first books I read and loved from her.

As a fan who has followed the Colburn Brothers series from the start, I'll be upfront: books one and two had my heart completely, and this third installment, while still a wonderful read, didn't quite reach those same heights for me. That said, Jill Shalvis delivers her signature warmth, humor, and small-town charm, and Tucker and Hazel's story is absolutely worth your time.

Tucker is genuinely one of the most lovable heroes in this series - a firefighter with a golden heart who has quietly carried a torch for Hazel for over a decade. Hazel is a more complex character: fiercely independent, carrying real wounds from her past, and absolutely convinced she doesn't deserve good things. Their foundation as childhood best friends gives the romance real emotional depth, and the history between them made the second-chance angle feel earned.

Where the book lost a little steam for me was the constant push and pull between Tucker and Hazel. The back and forth - connect, retreat, misunderstand, repeat- started to wear on me after a while. I found myself wanting to shake them both and just let them get there already. The miscommunications felt a touch overextended, and it chipped away at some of the satisfaction I was hoping to feel as their story built toward resolution.

The supporting cast continues to shine, and getting updates on the previous couples was a delight. Shalvis also brings a bit more emotional weight to this installment than the earlier books, which I appreciated even when it made for a slower pace.

Overall, a warm and satisfying close to the Colburn Brothers trilogy, just not the standout of the series for me personally. Fans who have been waiting for Tucker and Hazel's story will not be disappointed. And yes, I am absolutely hoping Kiera gets her own book next.

Highly recommended for fans of second-chance romance, small-town settings, and found family vibes.

Falling Into You by Jill Shalvis completely stole my heart. Hazel and Tucker’s second chance romance is full of heartbreak, healing, and a beautifully raw kind of love that lingers long after the last page.

It flips emotional expectations in the best way, giving us vulnerability, grief, and growth that feel deeply real. Even the miscommunication and third-act breakup—usually my least favorite tropes—felt natural and necessary here.

This story hurt, healed, and stayed with me… and honestly? I’m already ready to reread it.

This was Tucker and Hazels story and theirs was perfect for them, but also kinda felt like a long time coming. They were kinda young sweethearts. They were together and then broke up for reasons you learn, but they were both young and with their time apart they did a lot of growing up. And a lot changed in their lives. It wasn’t easy for hazel to come back to her small town though. He dad needed her after he had a heart attack and she needed to come help make sure he was making changes to take care of himself. She didn’t plan to stay long, but of course the heart knows what it wants. And fate sealed them when Tucker saw the shooting stars in the sky even though he refused to admit it. The never lie hehe but they stubborn Colburn men take time to learn that.

Hazel has a lot of baggage and she is one closed off, sealed from the world chickadee. The last thing she needs is a man to save her or try to he the white night of her story. But even strong princess need a soft place to lay their heads. And Hazel has to learn that too.

These twos story really feels like a long time coming home. Lots of cope with, accept and bridge gaps of past pain. Not only with themselves, but as individuals, and their families. They both had semi broken homes growing up and found solidarity and safety with each other. They just have to be willing to open up again to each other. No matter how much hazel tries to hold Tucker back from getting to see all her broken pieces.

There are books where you know exactly what’s going to happen, and somehow you still stay up way too late reading because you need to see how it happens.

Falling into You by Jill Shalvis was that book for me.

I’ve been waiting for Tucker and Hazel’s story since the first Colburn Brothers book. Every time Hazel showed up, it felt like there was a whole storm cloud of history following her around. By the time I opened this one, I was ready for answers.

Hazel comes back to Star Falls to help her dad after a health scare. She’s determined to keep her visit temporary, which is funny because everyone except Hazel seems to know that’s probably not happening. Especially once Tucker is back in the picture.

I spent a good chunk of this book wanting to give Hazel a hug and another chunk wanting to lock her in a room until she had an honest conversation. She carries so much hurt around that it’s become part of who she is. Watching her slowly unpack all of that felt messy in the way real life is messy.

Tucker, on the other hand, made my heart ache a little.

He’s spent years pretending he’s moved on. Nobody is buying it. Not his family. Not the town. Definitely not the reader.

There was one point where I actually laughed out loud because the entire town seemed more invested in Hazel and Tucker getting together than Hazel and Tucker were.

The thing I love about Jill Shalvis books is that even when people are falling in love, they’re usually dealing with family baggage, old wounds, complicated relationships, and whatever fresh chaos life decides to throw at them that week. This book had all of that.

Also, can we talk about Her Fluffiness? That cat was out there doing more matchmaking than half the characters.

I finished this book with that slightly sad feeling you get when you know you’re saying goodbye to a series you’ve enjoyed. I’ve really loved spending time with the Colburn family, and this felt like a satisfying way to wrap up the brothers’ stories.

If you’ve ever moved away from somewhere swearing you’d never go back, only to realize a piece of your heart never actually left, I think this story will hit a little harder.

Tucker Colburn is a firefighter for Star Falls. Between shifts, he also helps at his brothers’ restoration company as their project estimator. Tucker is the one who finds Hazel after her accident and rescues her. He knows that things between them are complex and unresolved. But Tucker cannot help his instinctual need to protect her. Can he trust his heart to Hazel? Will Tucker convince her to stay? Or will history repeat itself?

Hazel and Tucker both endured painful childhood. Tucker grew up with an abusive father and the loss of his mother. Hazel found herself spiraling out of control when her mother passed, which caused her to do some things she later regrets. They truly are kindred spirits.

Hazel’s sarcasm and sass is her defense mechanism. What I truly like the most about her is the way she makes up for her teenage mistakes. She does it willingly. Tucker has defenses of his own. He feels this need to rescue people. I love how Tucker has always believed in Hazel, even when their relationship becomes strained. He always wanted the best for her.

FALLING INTO YOU is the third and final book in Jill Shalvis’ contemporary romance series, COLBURN BROTHERS. The story can standalone. However, reading the first two books will help readers understand the Colburn’s dynamics. The past that continues to haunt all four. Why they feel like they are defected and broken. I love seeing the couples from the prior two books play important roles throughout the story. It made it feel like an extension of their own stories.

Generally, I am not a fan of the second-chance trope. However, I like how Shalvis handled this one. The beginning of their second chance begun in the background of the first two books…

The only nitpick I have is I wanted Kiera to have her own book. Sadly, that does not look like it will happen. Her “romance” feels like a loose end that is pushed into the story, a side note. Honestly, I feel like Kiera got cheated.

It had been 12 long years since Hazel left Star Falls in her rearview mirror, but it seems her heart still beats for Tucker Colburn and his beats for her. Hazel was determined to take this opportunity to right some wrongs and to show the town of Star Falls how much she had grown, and maybe she would even take a second chance on love this time around.

"You have a serious problem.: He smiled. "I know. And her name is Hazel."

This one started off with a bang and pretty much kept me rapt from beginning to end. I never tire of second chance romances and am especially fond when the history runs deep. Hazel and Tucker had been neighbors who grew up together. When things were rough at home, Tucker would sneak into Hazel's room. She was he safe space. During their teens, their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship, but when Tucker did not join Hazel on her exodus, she believed the relationship was one-sided.

"You remember how I like my coffee." His eyes held mine. "I remember how you like everything. "

As much as Hazel's push-and-pull drove me up the wall, I still could not help rooting for her. She became a bit of a wild child after her mother's death, but she wanted a chance to show the people of Star Falls that in her 12 year absence, she had grown and changed. She was on a mission to atone for her past transgressions, and I loved seeing her put that plan in action.

She looked like home. My past, my mistakes, and the one thing I'd never stopped wanting - all wrapped up in one.

But most of all, I wanted her to give Tucker a chance. The man was trying so hard to crack through her tough girl exterior and win her heart. It was clear they were perfect for each other and would be amazing together if Hazel were able to overcome her fears and really leave the past behind.

We'd made new memories here, painted them over the old ones.

There was a suspense element which I didn't really care about, but the high stakes situation near the end of the story had me in tears. I was in tears, people! I definitely didn't expect to be in such an emotional state given that the book up to that point had been typical Shalvis - light and breezy. It was quite a climax and the feels were kept at that level until the end.

"From the day I met you, my goal was to be your forever."

As always, it was a delight to be back in this world because I adore the Colburn clan and their antics. I loved the way the whole family was integrated into the story, and Her Fluffiness (the cat) stole my heart. I hope Jill Shalvis is listening because she planted the seed for Kiera, and I am expecting a book where she gets her HEA.

Overall: Another delightful trip back to Star Falls! This small town second chance romance hit all the right notes for me, and I was glad to be there as Hazel and Tucker unpacked their emotional baggage and found their way back to each other.

One phrase: second chance comfort with small town chaos 🐾💞

This book hooked me immediately.

Falling Into You has that classic Jill Shalvis charm I love. It is lighthearted, funny, romantic, emotional, and full of the kind of small town meddling that makes you want to move there immediately while also knowing your business would be everywhere by lunch.

Hazel comes back to Star Falls with a very specific plan:
Help her dad.
Keep it temporary.
Do NOT fall for Tucker Colburn again.

Naturally, that plan goes straight into the river after a wasp sting, a car accident, and Tucker pulling her out like the frustratingly heroic man he is.

Hazel and Tucker have so much history between them. Former best friends. One night mistake. Years of hurt. So many things left unsaid. Their chemistry was there from the start, but what I loved most was the emotional weight underneath all the banter. Hazel has spent so much of her life feeling like people leave, push her away, or decide she is too much. Watching her slowly learn to stay, choose herself, and believe she is worth choosing hit me right in the heart.

And Tucker?
That man had me swooning.

He is steady, protective, patient, and clearly still gone for Hazel even when both of them are trying to pretend they have everything under control. Their slow slide back into each other felt messy, sweet, frustrating, and so real.

But let’s be honest, Her Fluffiness stole every scene 🐈

The cat notes between Tucker and Hazel were hilarious and such a fun little touch. I laughed every time that chaotic feline appeared because obviously she knew exactly what she was doing.

Summary:
Tucker and Hazel were best friends growing up, but as they got older they crossed that line. When Hazel needed to get out of town, she asked Tucker to go with her but he never showed up the night they were supposed to leave.

Fast forward many years and they are back in the same small town when Hazel returns to take care of her dad.

Their chemistry is still there and on full display, but so are all the scars from their past. Some the other isn’t even aware of.

Can they finally voice how they truly feel for one another or will they continue to let miscommunications and fear keep them apart.

There are a few twists and turns that I don’t want to give away so I’m not going into much more detail.

My thoughts:
This is the first book I have read by this author but it won’t be the last. I really enjoyed this book so I’ll definitely be going back and reading the other books in this series.

As someone who didn’t read them in order I think you really should. There were characters and backstory I would have liked to know going into this one. It certainly isn’t required though. I didn’t think it took away from the book, it I do think it would have enhanced all the scenes with the other characters.

This book had everything. It was funny, sweet, sad, angsty, spicy and suspenseful. I loved the banter between Tucker and his brothers as well as between him and Hazel.

Their love story wasn’t an easy one and I love that for them. I tend to not like perfect, cookie cutter romances as much. I want to see people fight for each other.

In terms of reading this book I had both the ebook and audio book. I like to vacillate between both options so I don’t have to stop reading when things need to get done.

My only draw back is for some reason, and this is totally just my opinion, the male voice just didn’t match what I had in my head. It sounded way older than Tucker was to me, so I found myself reading more of Tuckers chapters and listening to more of Hazels.

A great book! Highly recommend!

I am a longtime romance lover, and second chance romances will almost always grab my attention. There is something so satisfying about watching two people find their way back to each other after years apart, especially when there is a lot of history between them. Even though this is book three in the Colburn Brothers series and I have not read the first two books, the description intrigued me enough that I wanted to give it a try.

Hazel and Tucker were easy characters to root for. It was obvious from the beginning that neither of them had truly moved on from the past, even if they had spent years convincing themselves otherwise. Both characters carry a lot of emotional baggage, much of it tied to family relationships that shaped who they became. I especially appreciated that neither of them was perfect. Hazel tends to keep things bottled up, while Tucker has a habit of putting everyone else's needs ahead of his own. That combination led to some frustrating moments, but it also made them feel realistic.

One of my favorite parts of the book was the family dynamic. The Colburn family made me want to go back and read the earlier books, and I especially enjoyed seeing how fiercely protective they were of one another. There were also several twists throughout the story that I did not see coming, which kept me turning pages. More than anything, I loved watching Hazel and Tucker slowly work through the misunderstandings and hurt that had been standing between them for so many years.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It delivered the emotional depth I look for in a second chance romance while still giving me plenty of hope and heart along the way. The epilogue was especially satisfying and felt like the perfect reward after everything these two had been through. I will definitely be adding the earlier books in the series to my TBR.

❤️Sibling dynamic. As I’ve said for each book in this series, the sibling dynamic is one of my all time favorites. If you love siblings who banter, who meddle & who like to stir up trouble, the Colburn siblings are for you!

❤️Her Fluffiness. Tucker’s cat was such a scene stealer! I loved her catitude & the way they used her to pass notes.

❤️Hazel. This girl frustrated the frick out of me but she also felt so real. The fear of rejection and struggling with self-worth can be hard to fight.

Tucker and Hazel's past has weighed on my mind since Hazel first appeared in the Colburn brothers series. I knew it was going to be messy and painful, and it was. She ran from Star Falls 12 years ago and never looked back. I wanted to know what sent her spiraling to the point where she didn't feel like she could ever return home.

Two of the many bright spots in Falling Into You were Her Fluffiness and the notes Tucker and Hazel passed back and forth attached to her collar. I chuckled every time she made an appearance. Hazel was a sucker for that precocious feline from the moment their paths crossed. That cat knew how to play people, and she won the lottery as a go-between because Hazel couldn't resist feeding her, despite (or was it in spite of 🤷‍♀️😹) Tucker's warnings not to.

I loved Hazel's determination to make things right with the town, righting wrongs from her wild-child days.

Tucker and Hazel frustrated me at every turn. However, I understood the choices they made as teens. I empathized with Hazel's fears and why she found running easier than staying. The fear of rejection and struggling with self-worth can be hard to fight. When Tucker and Hazel chose to communicate openly, I felt giddy with happiness. However, too often, they let fear reign and built walls to keep their hearts "safe," which often led to misunderstandings.

Can Hazel right past wrongs, change the town's perception of her, and make peace with the choices she made all those years ago? More importantly, can she be brave enough to choose herself and stay when running is easier?

Will the Star Falls Legend prove true once again, with the last Colburn brother finding his soulmate?

Hazel and Tucker's story is everything I love in a second-chance romance—emotional, funny, heartwarming, and filled with undeniable chemistry. The small-town setting of Star Falls was charming, and the cast of family and townspeople added so much personality and humor to the story.

If you love second-chance romances, small-town charm, lovable characters, and a hero who never stopped caring, this book is definitely for you.

I really enjoyed this moving, heartwarming, funny and steamy romance. Hazel Pierce and Tucker Colburn were neighbors growing up that helped protect each other from heartbreaking home life. They knew everything about each other and their close friendship turned into a deep, passionate love. That is until a misunderstanding happened and Hazel was on her own, heartbroken. Now a decade later, Hazel finally returns home, temporarily, to take care of her ill father. Her hometown and family home hold many sad memories, so while she is there, she secretly works to right the wrongs she did as a youth. As she struggles with her pain, the man she couldn't forget, is always there, knowing just what she needs for comfort. Tucker is so happy to see Hazel again. He has never forgotten her or the guilt from losing her. He tries to fight the re-emerging feelings, knowing if he gives in, she will shatter him when she leaves again. But as he finally faces his demons, Hazel also recognizes and accepts the support and love she deperately needs from Tucker, her father, and her friends, even if she leaves again. I loved how Hazel and Tucker slowly found their way back to each other, forgiving each other and themselves, and building a stronger, more mature and passionate relationship. Their journey back to each other was not an easy one but it felt genuine, and honest, making me cheer hard for their HEA. I also loved their relationships with family and friends who added so much fun and heartfelt emotion to this delightful story.

We are back in Star Falls where the last and youngest of the Coburn brothers finally gets his HEA.
Tucker and Hazel Pierce were not only next door neighbors, but also best friends and her one nightstand that changed her forever.
When Hazel is ready to leave town after her father tells her to leave, Tucker never showed up . She felt abandoned , never knowing Tucker’s side of the story.
Ten years later, Hazel is back in town for the father she feels abandoned her. But he’s ill and she feels it’s her duty to help him recover.
Hazel is determined to neither see or fall again for Tucker, now a firefighter for the town, and works as well with the family construction company.
But fate has its own agenda. Hazel is not only hired to work with the Coburn brothers in their construction business and has to see them all every day, but the boy , now a man who she believes abandones her, is there to lend a hand physically as well as emotionally.
This is a story about second chances in life and matters of the heart. It’s also a story about family support or lack thereof. It’s a story about hiding one’s emotions at times detrimental to oneself. It’s also a story about trusting someone else with your heart.
Lastly, it’s a reminder that life i messy and worth every ups and downs we experience.
Another winner in the series.

A return to the Colburn’s where we finally learn what’s going on being Tucker and Hazel!!!

Tucker Colburn is the youngest Colburn brother and works not only with Colburn Restoration but also as a full time firefighter. He has regrets in his life like anyone else but his biggest one is letting Hazel walk out of his life when they were younger. She has been it for him since nearly day one and now that she’s back, he doesn’t know how to get back to what they once were.

Hazel Pierce left town years ago and never looked back, much anyway. She’s back to watch over her dad after his heart attack and has picked up some work with Colburn Restoration in the mean time. Hazel has spent a lot of her time avoiding Tucker and her painful memories but that is coming to an end.

A vehicle mishap puts Hazel back in Tucker’s company and from there, they come to a tentative truce that’s leads to something more. As they build on the foundation of their past friendship and struggle to build it into something more, past and present secrets come crashing in that may ruin what they have before they can really set their relationship into stone.

This was a wonderful story!!! It was at times realistically serious, super funny and a bit chaotic. It made you want to cheer for the characters and strangle them at the same time lol. I can’t wait for Kiera’s story!!!

Book 3 in the Colburn brothers brings us Tucker, the commitment-phobic, emotionally non-disclosing firefighter brother.
Did I mention he's a firefighter??
Yeah. Swoonworthy to be sure.
Hazel was a hellion to raise after her mom died when Haze was a teenager and because of that, she had a terrible time with her father, and acted out continually. In all honesty, this poor girl could have benefited totally from a little therapy. But...if she had....well, this book wouldn't be this book.
Anyhoo.
Tucker has always been in love with Hazel, hence the commitment-phobic personality to the other females around him. But Hazel has never felt worthy of love, especially since her father kicked her out of the house at 18 and she asked Tucker to run away with her, but he had some legit reasons for staying in Star Falls. I'll let you read the story to find out the reasons.
Suffice it to say, these two people belong together, but both are terrified of having their hearts stomped on, and in Hazel's world, she feels she's unworthy of love.
Told with the usual sexy banter, deep dialogue subtext, and female friendships and bonds Shalvis is famous for, book three is as wonderful as books 1 and 2 were, and ties up the three brothers well. Now...I wonder if sister Kiera is going to get her own HEA with a hunky construction man we all know??

Hazel is far from what you’d expect. She’s been through it and then some, her dad is a bit of a thorn in a few sides, Tucker is the one she once had but lost, and the secrets are bound to come tumbling out eventually. But Hazel is also incredibly likable because she feels so undeserving. She is certain she doesn’t belong anywhere and that she’s always the last choice, if chosen at all. She’s still here, though. Still trying. And still wishing that people would see who she is and not the hurting girl she once was.

As for Tucker, he’s sort of looking for misery. He wants Hazel to pay for hurting him, but he’s forgetting that he hurt her, too. Communication is key and it’s almost his downfall here. But he catches a clue and has a bit of a come to Jesus talk, courtesy of the man who can’t really talk now, but it sets his head right. Now he had needs to make sure Hazel knows she’s always his first choice.

These brothers are sometimes overgrown children, but what men aren’t? Heck, what siblings aren’t? And they always have each other’s backs. Even if it means having the hard talks, they do it, and they support family, no matter what. That’s a big part of why this series has been so good from the start, and this brother is no exception.

So not fair! Thus far, Caleb was my favorite brother in this series but now Tucker Colburn is giving him a run for his money! What a kind, sweet, scrappy brother and friend. These three brothers put up with a LOT growing up. Tucker, though, is still taking care of his siblings, including his sister, but that’s not all that is on his plate. Enter his old neighbor, his friend, his former everything – Hazel Pierce. She comes back to town and has her own life issues to deal with, including seeing Tucker again.

Their story has some hilarious and some really heartbreaking parts but it was such a wild ride and wonderful story to read. I was firmly in the Tucker/Hazel Corner, however they made me work for it! There were also some really funny parts and some really deep issues that made me mumble at these two but I loved it. Some of the other characters (from the previous two books) make themselves known – and I use that term loosely! – and make Tucker and Hazel crazy. Mostly they mean well but dang, folks can be interfering. Mostly in a good way, though. And funny, too! There is much depth to this book, along with much banter and snark and loving relationships with a few shooting stars…I highly recommend Falling Into You and the other stories! @JillShalvis

Tucker may have seen the legend of star falls but there’s only ever been one person for him and now she’s temporarily back in town. As children him and Hazel were not only neighbours, they were each other’s safe haven, soul mates and first loves. Then Hazel ran away from Star Falls. Although she had her reasons, both her and Tucker’s hearts were torn apart as he was unable to go with her. Now she’s back and temporarily working with his familys’ business. Hazel is completely overwhelmed with being home, its not just Tucker it’s the memories of the worst time in her life. There’s only so long they can avoid each other. Although they never addressed the night she left they find themselves unable to deny their their true feelings for one another. Secrets will be exposed, insecurities will be blown wide open but can they find peace, open their hearts, trust in each other and grab the second chance they’ve been given or are they destined to make the same mistakes again? It’s an emotional roller-coaster of a return to Star Falls. This story is gritty, raw, messy and heartbreaking. Add in a matchmaking cat, a very caring Tucker and the support of Tucker’s family and this story will make you feel as though you’ve finally come home.

Falling Into You is a small-town second-chance romance and the third of the Coulburn Brothers trilogy. Although it’s the third, I read it as a standalone and absolutely loved it. So much so that I am definitely going back to read the other two. Our main characters, Tucker and Hazel, both grew up with some struggles and heavily leaned on each other to get them through it. Once they were old enough, they planned to get out of their small town, but only Hazel ended up leaving. A decade later, she’s back to care for her dad and definitely trying to hide from the past, but it won’t let her… or Tucker won’t let her. Both parties have a lot of love for eachother but they also have a lot to work through: secrets, regrets, and actually owning the feelings that they’ve tried to bury.

I was lucky enough to receive the E-ARC and ALC, and I really enjoyed immersing myself in this book! I loved the town and the family on top of the romance between Tucker and Hazel. This book is full of secrets and second chances with witty banter and a love that’s worth fighting for! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a contemporary romance this summer! I really enjoyed the author’s writing and felt connected to all the characters, even though I haven’t read the other two books in this world.

I really enjoyed Falling into You by Jill Shalvis. Hazel Pierce coming back to Star Falls with a strict “no feelings allowed” plan was never going to go smoothly, especially with Tucker Colburn right there in her path. Their history gives everything this layered tension that feels real, and I loved how their interactions bounce between frustration, familiarity, and something that clearly never went away. Also, the way Tucker shows up for her, even when she’s doing her best to keep him at arm’s length, definitely had me smiling.

What I loved most is that classic Jill Shalvis small-town charm mixed with emotional depth. Hazel’s journey with her family, her past, and figuring out what she actually wants adds so much heart to the story. And Tucker is the kind of steady, patient hero that quietly wins you over. I’ve been hoping Kiera would get her own book, so I was really happy to see her featured more here and get a better sense of her character. The chemistry, the banter, and those softer moments all come together in a way that makes this such an easy, satisfying read. It’s a great addition to your book collection. Happy Reading...enjoy!

Falling into You is the third book in the Colburn Brothers series by Jill Shalvis.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series.

Hazel and Tucker were best friends in school. They both had difficult childhoods and leaned on each other for emotional support. When Hazel decided to leave Star Falls, Tucker was supposed to go with her. For unknown reasons, that did not happen. Hazel left, but Tucker stayed.

Years later, Hazel returns to Star Falls to take care of her dad. An accident that Tucker, a firefighter, responds to reunites him and Hazel. Neither Tucker nor Hazel know how to handle being in the same town. Hazel considers her presence in her hometown to be temporary.

Hazel and Tucker struggle with their past and have to work through the emotional pain, misunderstandings, and regrets. Both are afraid to be hurt again, therefore, neither are willing to commit to the other. I can relate to their hesitation to become involved again because it would be devastating. It takes time for each of them to work on healing past wounds.

Falling into You is filled with laughter, heartbreak, love, and forgiveness.

Hazel and Tucker’s love story in Falling into You was everything I love about a second chance romance story. They have such a rich history while also having such interwoven lives today. I adored every moment of the two of them reconnecting and rediscovering the love that truly always has been between them.

Learning the truth of the past alongside Hazel and Tucker was so powerful and so perfectly timed to push the story along. They both go through so much emotional growth and I loved how honest those journeys forced them to be- both with themselves and in their relationship. Hazel and Tucker are such well rounded characters and they feel so real on the page.

Once again, Jill Shalvis did an incredible job of bringing all the emotion to this story. Hazel and Tucker’s story made me tear up and laugh at the same time. Falling into You was the perfect continuation of the Colburn Brothers series and there’s not a single moment in any of these books that I’d change!

Small Town, Messy Characters with Found and Real Family, Laughs and Tears...

Another Jill Shalvis winner, and what looks to be the end of the Colburn brothers series :(! As stated the book is part of a series (which are all wonderful) but it easily works as a standalone. It appears that Tucker has met his match in Hazel, his childhood BFF who has returned "temporarily" to care for her dad, redeem past regressions, and avoid Tucker at all costs. That doesn't go so well, and there are still sparks, unresolved feelings for cinnamon roll "hero" Tucker, laughs, memories (some painful - cue tears, and some fun), and a lot of angst. The reader also gets to revisit the happy couples from the previous books in the series who become "found" family for Hazel, and it appears even the Colburn sister Kiera is getting her HEA (although I am still hoping for a book for her). I laughed, cried, couldn't put the book down, and was sad to see it end- Enjoy!

Hazel Pierce had no plans to return to Star Falls but that’s where she finds herself when her estranged father needs help. She made a lot of mistakes when she was growing up and feels she’s not good enough for anyone or anything. She started her own business called Pierce Custom Woodworks and plans to avoid running into Tucker Colburn, former best friend and former one-night mistake, at all costs. Things don’t go quite as planned, though.

Tucker has loved Hazel for years. He knows her sarcasm is her defense mechanism and loves her just the same. He knows she’s the person doing anonymous things around town trying to make up for the mistakes in her past, and he knows she’s worth waiting for.

Both Hazel and Tucker had rough childhoods, but can two wounded souls find their way back to each other and take their friendship to something more?

I loved this story! I hate to see this series end.

Hazel has a few specific plans for returning to Star Falls. First, she is there to help her dad, just temporarily. Secondly, avoid Tucker Colburn, and not fall in love with him again.

Well, that went out the window when a rogue wasp sting caused Hazel to go off the road into the river and be pulled out by the Star Falls Fire Department. Who happens to be her best friend from childhood, ex-one night stand, and the only guy she's been running from for ten years, Tucker Colburn.

Tucker knows how to get to Hazel, how to fluster her, and it’s a fun ride to read. It had me hooked from chapter 1. Hazel is faced with making her choice. Is she really done with running from her past, from her family, and from the only guy she has ever felt at home with? Tucker must prove to her that he's her forever.

Hazel and Tucker's story was fun, sweet, emotional, and had so much chemistry. The small town setting and side characters made this a perfect story. I love a good second chance romance, too!

I’m always excited to pick up a book by this author because their stories usually work so well for me, and I absolutely love a good second-chance romance. While I did enjoy reading this one, it unfortunately wasn’t a favorite.

The biggest issue for me was the main character. She annoyed me throughout most of the book, and I found it difficult to connect with her decisions. So many of the conflicts felt like they could have been resolved with a simple conversation or by asking one straightforward question. The lack of communication became frustrating after a while and made it harder for me to fully invest in the romance.

That being said, I still enjoyed parts of the story. The chemistry between the characters was there, and I always have a soft spot for second-chance romances. I kept reading because I wanted to see how everything would unfold, even if I wasn’t completely sold on the journey.

Overall, this was a good read, but not one of my favorites from this author. I liked it, but I didn’t love it.
