Part one ended with Red spending the night in Mason’s truck. In part one, we learn that Red and Mason have wanted each other forever, but they never got together. Mason was waiting for her to be older and Red was shy and didn’t know how to approach him. Then Jake jumped in ahead and Mason missed his chance; something he regrets and suffers through.

In part two Red and Mason continue exploring each other and their feelings. Mason confesses his true feelings to Red; but he is in town for the summer only. So, will they have a chance or are they just enjoying the moment?

“I open my mouth to say hello, but before the words are out, his lips are crushing my mouth in an all-consuming, mind numbing kiss.”

I love the characters in this story; the bantering and antics had me laughing out loud. Their “Critter-Critter” game was hilarious and the girls played the boys really good!

“Rules are rules,” Mary Lou agrees and turns off the radio. “Now, pull the truck over. You boys gotta run around it naked.”

Red reminisces about her friendship with Mel. But when Melanie returns, Red is taken by surprise with her revelation.

“The simple fact that you don’t know, that you never took the time to listen to me, pisses me off even more, Scarlett Lynn.” She shakes her head, studying her red heels. “I know who you loved in high school. That guy standing over there was your every fantasy for years. People were stupid for not noticing that. As your best friend, there is no way in hell I would have missed it. Who was mine? Answer me that.”

S.J. Sawyer’s writing puts the reader right in the scene with her words. Can’t wait for part three to find out how it will all work out for Red and Mason. Will their relationship blossom or wilt? Will Mel and Red be able to mend their friendship? What other revelations will come out? What antics and adventures will Mary Lou take Red on?

* I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. *

You must have read book 1 to understand what is going on in book 2! This is not a stand alone book. If you are looking to read book 2 there is no reason that you haven't read book 1 - it was just as amazing as this one!

Just when I thought that I couldn't possibly enjoy this book as much as the first one, author S.J. Sawyer proves me wrong! She has taken the characters that the reader loves from book one and makes the reader love them even more in book two. I didn't think that Mary Lou could get any funnier or that Mason could get even more swoon worthy, but they did and the author keeps the laughs coming right alongside of the drama.

So in this book we get to meet Melanie, Mason's sister - and she brings some drama along with her. She used to be best friends with Red and something happened that Red doesn't know about or understand. We also get to spend time with our favorite characters, Mason and Red, Monroe and Mary Lou, and Preston and Emerson as well as our least favorite, Jake. The author develops the relationships a bit more and we get to see more of the dynamics of the characters as we spend time with them at the fair, the bakery and just hanging out in town.

Mason and Red both tell their side of the story in the present and in the past and it is so much fun for the reader to see how they have both been in love with each other for years but neither one knew how to act on that love. The story flies by and the reader is finished long before they want to be. The action and flow of the book is a non-stop roller coaster ride that leaves the reader breathless when they get to the cliffhanger of an ending.

I am looking forward to more time with these characters and can't wait for the third book to come out! Make sure you catch up on book 1 and 2 so that you are ready for book 3 in June!! I love everything about this series and can't wait to read more! Add this series to your summer TBR list - and fast track it to the top! They are just that amazing!

Hide Your Crazy (Like A Lady Part 2) by S.J. Sawyer
** ARC provided in exchange for an honest review **

So the moment that I finished, "Big Girl Panties (Like A Lady Part 1)" I was chomping at the bit to get read part 2. Especially, because the first installment ended in a major cliffhanger. But I must say the it was well worth the wait. I absolutely adore Scarlett (Red) and Mason's story, thus far. In HYC, you Lear a little more about their past, especially Mason's and his connection with Mary Lou. We also get to finally meet his sister, the friend that Red missed dearly.

HYC is fun, relatable, well written and though part 2 ends with yet another cliffhanger, it is an enjoyable read with a great storyline with characters that are intricately weaved in each other's lives.
I absolutely loved characters. Maybe because they are a throwback to my high school years. Mary Lou has a vibrant thirst for life and the friend you know is going to get you in a lot of "good trouble", but you don't mind going along for the ride. I cannot wait to see what becomes of her character in part three. She deserves something sweet. I just hope her past doesn't come back to jeopardize her friendships.
I love the chemistry between Mason and Red. In BGP, there was a heightened anticipation for them to connect, and in book two, they finally do and it's magic... kismet.

This is recommended read... 5 STARS! Can't wait for book three.

Favorite Quotes:

“All of Mary Lou’s brothers are freaking huge. They get it from their dad who has been mistaken for Sasquatch.”

“The ride is bumpy, and my chest, as small as it is, jumps around like a kangaroo on crack. I resist the temptation to cross my arms and hold the girls in place.”

“Mary Lou and Monroe are in front of us, sucking face like NASA just announced an impending asteroid collision.”

My Review:

I have a new author to full-on stalk – like total fan-girl. I know I am too old for that – but I am feeling young and mischievous today after reading this highly entertaining and captivating tale. I love this story and this series. It has all the elements I like, steam, second chance at love, new relationships, fun friends, feisty females, and clever humor. I adore S.J. Sawyer’s writing and have added all her works to my TBR. She also taught me a new game – I had never heard of Critter-Critter… Her characters are realistic, funny, interesting, and flawed. Her writing is breezy, enchanting, insightful, and witty. More please.

I loved Big Girl Panties (Like A Lady 1), but I think, Hide your Crazy, book two in the Like A Lady series beat the first book (My Opinion). All my fave characters from the first book are back and we start getting more of a back story with Red and her douchey Ex, Red and Mason and Mason and Mary Lou! I smell trouble brewin when Red finds out about the whole Mary Lou/Mason thing since no one told her about it. Also Mason's sister is in town and she is not happy at all to see Red, which is a big surprise to Red because they user to be really great friends.

Anyways...Red and Mason's relationship makes for a steamy read. I.Loved. Every.Page! I am so excited for book three!

'Hide Your Crazy' was a great addition to a fun series. I loved the story line and how it played out. Red makes such a lovable lead. She's going through hell but keeps her sense of humor intact. I look forward to reading more. A great add to your tbr list.

“Who knew sex could be that good?”
“Um, everyone not screwing Jake Roberson!” Mary Lou answers. “Jeez, he’s a disgrace to men everywhere. What’s the point in having a penis if you don’t know how to use it?”
************************************************

This is the second book in the Like a Lady series. They will need to be read in order.

** do not read any further until you have read BIG GIRL PANTIES, part one in this series.

After spending the night in Mason Pierce’s truck bed, Scarlet Summers (Red) now knows why it’s called a bed (hehehe). The question on everyone’s mind now is will they do more than sleep there? It’s going to be a hot summer in Freemont, Oklahoma!

Sometimes what I really need is a feel good, sweet yet steamy, story with a good dash of humor to keep me happy. S.J. Sawyer delivers just that in this series. (Oh, and I’m still humming the song while I read these books.)

First, let’s talk about Mary Lou. I know she’s not the *main* characters, but how often am I going to get to talk about a Mary Lou? I love her. I cannot wait to see what happens to her and Monroe! Mason and Red, Monroe and Mary Lou, and Preston and Emerson are all fun, young, happy people as couples and as a group. Mason’s sister Melanie is introduced, along with a few others, and her dynamic brings disruption and a touch of intrigue for the next book in the series.

Those first few years after high school are usually the best of a person’s life and I love these books just because they give me that happy summer feeling of those years in my life.

June 29th is firmly on my calendar as I wait in anticipation for FIX YOUR MAKEUP!

Hide Your Crazy picks up where Big Girl Panties leaves off. Finally Mason and Red have told each other how long they have had feelings for each other. Everyone knew Mason had it bad for Red but Red never noticed.

Mason and Red have no idea where this relationship will go or how it may end once Mason heads back to OU to finish up with his studies and back to baseball practicing and games. They have not yet discussed this impending event, instead they are dating and enjoying the time they are spending together getting to know each other more intimately.

I love how the characters are paired at this time. Preston and Emerson's personalities compliment each other. Monroe and Mary Lou make quite the fun couple. I wish I had a fun friend like Mary Lou to get into trouble with. Mason and Red compliment each other with her more innocent and him not so much.

I loved their game of Critter Critter and the differences in the rules. I was laughing during their game. It was very entertaining and I love Mary Lou's antics.

I am anxious to see what will happen when Monroe and Mason have to go back to school. What will happen between Monroe and Mary Lou? Mason and Red? Or will other circumstances arise that throw all plans that they feel are set astray?

I recommend you read this book. It is a great light hearted read compared to a lot that are out there. Even though there is some heartbreak and tension, it is still on the lighter side. You will enjoy getting to know the characters, most are a lot of fun. A Must Read!

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I Dig Good Books.

*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.*

Another great novella by the wonderful S.J. Sawyer. This book dives deeper into Red and Mason and their discovery of what's going on between them. It's hotter and sweeter. It's quirky and funny in parts. It's frustrating in others (not as a bad writing standpoint, just actions between the characters). It's overall, another well written story.

I am really starting to enjoy the relationship between Red and Mason and enjoying them as characters. The part that always makes me giggle is when Mason wants to say something but backs away from saying it whether it be to Red or the other ladies because he knows it will only get him into the dog house. These scenes are always a joy to read.

My only complaint about this story is the way the author chooses to write a few parts. It has to do with when you are reading a conversation between Red and Mason and in one part you read Red's side and in a close part thereafter you read Mason's. The conversation is near exact and it's like you are re-reading a few parts. I had to go back to make sure I didn't backtrack accidentally on my kindle without realizing it. It's nothing major and not a big enough complaint for me to bump my star rating but was enough to mention.

I'm ready for book three to see what is next for Red and Mason and to see how things turn out. Pick up your copy of books one and two today to prepare for book three.

Holy moly!
Sarah Sawyer has done it again! This second instalment of the Like a Lady Series follows on from the first perfectly.
This time around we see a lot more relationship. Not only Mason and Red but also Monroe and Mary Lou (I actually really like those 2, possibly even a bit more than I like Mason and Red!) as well as Emerson and Preston. It’s great to see their group friendship too. The fun factor that runs through this book is a nice touch, giving it a light hearted feel.
As with book 1, I really enjoyed the way Sawyer uses both main character’s point of views and how the chapters don’t necessarily follow on from each other, but sometimes take a step back in time to gain that alternative pov. The flashbacks this time round provide a whole plethora of information that both warmed my cockles and made me weep!
The brief introduction of the elusive Mel really rocked boats, I did not see that one coming! That should make for some interesting conversations in book 3…
And again with the damn cliffhanger!!! Damn you woman!
I’m slightly more ok with the fact this one is a novella. It finished at a perfect point, it was short and sweet, the length perfectly fitting in with the feel of the story!
Roll on June for the release of number 3. Seriously this series of novellas has brightened up my days and are well worth delving into!

Omg S.J. Sawyer does it again, keeps you captivated with every word written. This book is cute, laugh out loud funny, adorable. You have swoon worthy Mason pierce and Red getting closer then before. This isn't a stand-alone you have to read in order starting with "Big Girl Panties." You will not be disappointed. You get to learn more about the characters you read in the first book Mary Lou, and Mason. Love this group of friends! S.J. Sawyer keeps you wanting more! AMAZING! After so many years Mason and Red find a way to each other and its simply ahhh! This book is told in past from their high school days and present day.
There are twist an turns in this story. You even meet Masons sister Melanie a old missing piece from Red's past. It does end on cliffhanger leaving you stalking for more! (Yes I am a total stalker girl!)
Can't wait for the third installment to see what S.J. Sawyer has in store for us next!

This is the second book in the Like A Lady series and book one - Big Girl Panties needs to be read first.

Scarlett "Red" Summers is trying to get her life back on track after catching her fiance Jake Roberson cheating on her.

Since then Red has moved on with Mason Pierce but nothing is as easy as it is but with her best friend Mary Lou at her side things are bound to get crazy!

This was such a fun book that looks like it will be taking an interesting turn in the next book!

One of my favorite scenes in this book was with Red and Mary Lou with the killer momma deer protecting her baby. I was laughing so hard!

I also loved the scene in the truck with all the boys and girls and their wildlife game! So much fun and it would definitely be a fun night.

I love Red and her group and they are all so much fun. I'm kind of scared to see what's coming as I know that Mason is only in town for the summer.

Can't wait for the next one!

3.5 Stars Cornbreads are hot!

Mason and Red are back in this one and it is great! These two are extremely hot and sweet.

This is what every girl who has ever had a crush hopes for, that the one she was crushing on is secretly wanting her too. Now that Mason and Red have found their way to each other it will be a summer full of fun and sex, of course. Can Red and Mason be more than just a summer fling....I am waiting to find out.

This one is strictly about Mason, Red and their group of friends with a few flashes into the past. There is minimal angst which I kept waiting for but something tells me the next may be very angsty! Does Red know about Mary Lou? Plus there seem to be a lot of girls that dislike Red I am sure there will be lots of drama there.

I am loving these from Ms. Sawyer and I can not wait for the next one!

I adore this series! In this book we see Mason and Red getting closer, Mary Lou is up to her hilerious shenigans, and the small town feel is escalated when the characters attend the local fair. And we finally see Mel! I was not expecting how that went down but it was a pretty great moment in the storyline since it gives us another added layer of drama.

There are some pretty funny moments (Critter, Critter)! And Mary Lou's helpful advice haha she is a pretty awesome bestie actually. I really enjoyed the switch between Mason and Red's POV and the flashbacks really help out the backstory.
And boy is there some backstory! Stuff definitely gets complicated but welcome to real life right? Life is messy and complicated but it's the people you choose to spend it with and the experiences you have that make it worth all of the complications! I'm so ready for Fix Your Makeup!

The Fun continues in part 2

Remember this is not a stand-alone. You must read Big Girl Panties book one Like A Lady Series first so you don't miss out.
I have been anticipating more high jinks from the characters, especially my girl Mary Lou and I was not disappointed. Red and Mason's relationship heats up in book two and I am falling more in love with sexy, country charmer Mason.
There are some great laughs and one hot driving game that you won't want to miss. Of course what good book doesn't have a little drama, and a surprise reunion has just that. The tension is building up and I can't wait for book three in the series to see what happens.

Book two picks right off where book one left off. Red is just admitting to herself that she loves and wants Mason. Ghost start to come out from their past, S.J starts to solidify their love. Again a lot of laughs and at times want to cry. She has hit this series out of the park. I love it. Another cliff hanger so be ready to get the rest of series. I could not put down. I found myself reading every chance I could.

Wow I absolutely love this installment of the Like A Lady series. Mary Lou was a hoot and had me laughing my butt off. As Scarlet aka Red and Mason continued their story I was sucked in even more. I loved how Mason let Red in more. I can't wait to see what else is in store for this couple. I really want more of them and I'm awaiting the next book.

It is a sweet story. Pulls you in wondering if Red and Mason will ever realize how they feel about each other. I read the first book. Then I immediately bought the second book. Now I really really want the third one. Can't wait for it to come out. This is a laugh out loud, feel good story. I highly recommend this book.

So things with Red and Mason are heating up in the second portion of the Like A Lady Series. Through flashbacks and current situations their story continues. Is this only a summer fling as Red believes it to be or a future relationship as Mason has always wants it to be? Added twist Mason's sister her old childhood friend has returned to town and is livid about their current relationship.

Second book

I would have given it 5 stars but I didn't like reading the exact same storyline although it was from 2 different perspectives. I am looking forward to reading the next book to see what becomes on Scarlett and Melanie. Whether Melanie's opinion of Scarlett has any bearing on Scarlett and Mason.

Great story

I don't leave reviews that explain stories, I don't read them either. I like getting lost in the fun or emotion a story brings. This is a story that is simple yet in ways complex. I am completely enjoying this story. Love having stumbled upon this author. She is wonderful.

Red and Mason are finally getting their happily ever after or so they think. Red always had a crush on Mason and Mason always had a crush on Red. Red's getting over her ex-fiance.

I just couldn't put this book down and can't wait to read part 3 to find out what happens.

Loved it.

It's a fun easy read. It does get a bit repetitive with the Red side vs Mason side but I do like how it gives both views. I also wish it was a bit longer. I enjoy the throw backs when going back to high school.

This is not a groundbreaking story. But it doesn't have to be either. Easy, entertaining and a bit silly, but enjoyable. The characters are quite childish for their age, but I still find myself wanting to keep reading.
