In his earlier book, Eric Metaxas tackled the questions people had always wanted to ask about God. His book was well-received, but Metaxas soon realized there was a long list of questions that still needed to be addressed.
In Everything Else You Always Wanted to Know about God…, the author answers the rest–and some of the very best–of the questions that surface when God is the topic of conversation. Metaxas’s welcoming tone and his skillful use of humor lower readers’ defenses. He presents biblical truth in the form of engaging answers that can’t help but connect, whether the reader is an inquisitive skeptic, an open-minded agnostic, or even a new believer looking to get grounded in the basics of the Christian faith.
No matter who is asking the questions, this sequel delivers the goods with disarming candor and biblical authority.
In a decidedly eclectic career, Eric Metaxas has written for VeggieTales, Chuck Colson, Rabbit Ears Productions and the New York Times, four things not ordinarily in the same sentence. He is a best-selling author whose biographies, children’s books, and works of popular apologetics have been translated into more than 25 languages.
I love the humor in the Q & A, but the content did not seem as strong as it was in the former book with nearly the same title. It almost seemed like the success of the first one means you have to do a second one. It was good, just not nearly as good as Everything You Always Wanted to Know About God...
If was ok. It was in a conversational format. Questions and answers. Some of the answers seemed a little flippant in tone. I guess he was trying to be funny but it didn’t really work for me. There were good answers to basic questions.
a mildly irreverent, occasionally tongue in cheek take on what christian fundamentalists believe. solidly covers topics such as abortion, homosexuality, "works", and the nature of God. good stuff
