⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ let me start off with HTOWNNNN BAE BAEEEE! I signed up for this book not knowing what to expect. Definitely not my normal read but it was beautiful in the most painful tragic way. James is a prick, Elsie is a trauma survivor from her previous relationship and losing her parents. I commend her for dealing with the situations life threw at her with grace. I feel so bad for her but she’s so strong at the same time. Isaak is such a gentle giant. He dealt with his pain through art, captain of the hockey team, wise beyond his years. Then ending tore my heart in 2💔! I can’t wait to read more about them and hope there is a second book! @J.K. Brewer thank you for giving me the opportunity to read your book! Love that my home town was in the book! So cool 😎

I received an ARC of this, for review… and honestly barely recalled what I was in for, when it arrived. I was immediately pulled in to a fake relationship with possibilities, surrounded by the world of sports celebrity… and the chaos that is the media (and social media) that that entails.

The romance/relationship chemistry was palpable, but kept beautifully clean. The dialogue & banter was wonderful, and probably why I was immediately hooked!

The drama that unravels itself, along with some deep backstories, gave this story & both leads great depth.

I’m itching for the next chapter/book in their story!

This book was so good and emotional and I want more to the story the emotional roller-coaster is so good you will be mad and sad I can't say I'm happy being left on the edge of my seat that way but I loved the book

This book destroyed me, in the best possible way. Isaak and Elsie are wonderfully written characters! I was immediately emotionally attached to both of them and found myself crying for them. Elsie has been made to feel so small and that aspect hit my heart hard. I usually can pick up another book right after I finish one, however I haven’t been able to read anything since I finished this. It even took me a couple of days to write this because of all the feels. Don’t take that the wrong way, it was amazing and I am counting down the days till the next book!

This was my first by JK Brewer. I devoured this book. I am a forever fan; even though I have a bone to pick. I was not prepared however to be left like that. JK, for reals, I threw my phone at that ending. I CANNOT wait for book 2. This story had me relating to a character like never before. I felt Elsie’s need to mold her to what everyone else needs and putting everyone before herself. Being the person that will always be there for someone even if its at my own expense, expecting nothing in return, I related to Elsie more than any other character from any other book.

This story follows Elsie who always had to shoulder her burdens alone. Always made to feel like she was the problem or “being dramatic” when she would cry when something bothered her. Learning to mold herself into what everyone else wanted/needed she never put her choices first. Moving to a new city for a new job, was just the fresh start that Elsie needed. That is, until she runs into Isaak, The captain of the hockey team she works for. When an image problem become the focus of the PR team, Isaak and Elsie enter into an “agreement” to help rehab his image. Never did Elsie expect to get the one thing she has never gotten before… choices. When Isaak makes sure that every choice, Elsie has a say and that everyone listens to her choice, Elsie finds herself in the last place she ever wanted to be. Falling for another hockey player. Will the agreement be more than what both Isaak and Elsie can handle? Can Issak be just the person who will show Elsie someone can be there for her without it being a debt?
