One night of pure fun and games changes the world for two people.
After a month and a half, the Zoo learns about Monfua and Lakia's marriage. Lakia's brother Foe is surprised by what the two did and starts making it difficult for Monfua to accept his decision to say I do, while Lakia's intentions are quite different.
As Monfua tries to get a handle on his new wife and brother-in-law, he also struggles to consider a career in which he doesn't believe his street life world can coexist.
Lakia, who initially didn't think her involvement would be long-term, has found herself with not only a husband but also a secret that has been growing inside her for two years. As she searches for ways to reveal what she's been hiding, her honesty about Harvey upends everything.
Unnoticed by everyone, the newlyweds are not living in paradise as they struggle to love each other. Will their decision to start backwards work for them or against them? Or will they learn to love beyond the rules?
I really like Monfua’s character development and how he’s trying to be truer to himself while still wanting to make his dad proud. I love that he isn’t afraid to express himself and be who he is.
Now Lakia, I really don’t care for her. She is definitely her mother’s daughter. The fact that she thought it was appropriate to low-key try to hook Flex up with her brother because she felt like Flex was more his type than Harvey is crazy to me. And Flex? Something is seriously wrong with homegirl.
Foe is still a hothead, and I feel like he has a lot of growing up to do. At the same time, I understand that his mom has put so much pressure on him that he feels like he has to step up and be a father figure to his siblings. That’s a lot for one person to carry. But I’m happy that he and Harvey are finally finding a way to work things out in their relationship.
Now, my biggest question is, WTF is about to happen to Mali?! Because I need to know!
