If you're looking for a fast-paced, hair-raising, visceral creature feature with a great combination of military action (Napoleonic Wars) and a formidable Aztec goddess, The Wolves of Santa Muerte is the book for you.
Alister Hodge's novella is both well-written and an easy read, a combination that can be hard to find. The wolves are creepy as hell, the goddess Santa Muerte is unforgiving and bloodthirsty, the stakes are high, and the themes of honour, sacrifice and reluctant collaboration ring true. I especially enjoyed discovering the history around the worship of Santa Muerte. Also the snapshot of 1800s battle action.
Great fun and highly recommended!

Good collection of short stories, with the wolves of Santa Muerte being the best and slightly longer
