S.J. Tilly lives in Minnesota with her husband and their herd of boxers. She spends an unhealthy amount of time with her face buried in books, reading and writing. If she’s not nose deep in text, or harassing her dogs, she’s probably playing with her plants, pretending she knows how to garden.

I should start by saying that almost anything written by this author is an "auto buy" for me. That being said, this was a very different setting than her usual books so I was slightly apprehensive. All I can say is OMG why was I ever concerned?! I absolutely loved this book and devoured it in no time flat. This is definitely not the old vampire stories I heard growing up. This was a new spin on them living among the "normal" humans and what happens when they meet their fated mate. Watching the characters evolve and even taking the time to show how their bond developed even before meeting really helped suck me in more. This was part of the story I never got in books by other authors who featured a fated mate trope. The characters themselves? Fantastic! Both main characters are 100% everything I've come to expect in SJ Tilly books. He is so protective & utterly obsessed with her. She is so sweet & caring. I also love how, unlike some fated mate books, she is open to exploring this unexpected pull and to learning more about their bond & Volik. I should also mention that, as one would expect from this author, there was an absolutely fantastic supporting cast of characters that just make the story. I cannot wait to read more of this series and highly recommend reading this story.
