Niamh, a young, reclusive farm girl, wishes nothing more than to have a quiet, normal life; until she becomes the focus of an outcast Dragon terrorizing the village of Dunmuir. When her farm comes under attack and the Dragon seemingly appears wherever Niamh is, she is thought to be a witch and responsible for calling down the outcast Dragon.

The village Administer sends a message to the Dragon Sage, Galddor, to assist with expunging the outcast Dragon. Now, facing the wrath of the entire village, Niamh must plead with the Dragon Sage of Arydd in order to protect her life from the outcast Dragon and the villagers.

But, does Niamh have a secret?

A side story adventure in the Realms of Arydd, not directly part of the Dragon Sage Trilogy.

I have done some type of art most of my life and graphics as well as web design for the past ten years. I love the creative aspect of graphics and art as well as music. Creativity is utmost in my endeavors. I love to build something new from nothing.

Ya know, it’s funny how many things a person decides they want to accomplish in their lives. How many of us actually get to do it?

Now I know at times I have stretched myself pretty thin, but hey, I have also had a lot of fun doing it. I think everyone should take advantage of whatever life has to offer. It’s far too short to sit around wondering if you should or shouldn’t, and then spend the rest of your life going, shoulda, woulda, coulda. Don’t ever let anyone tell you not to follow your dreams…

Hindsight’s a bitch.

I have been writing short stories and doing other forms of art since I was very young. Math was never my strong suit, but the art of writing? Ah, now that’s what I enjoyed the most. Anything creative appealed to me, and writing gave me so much more than merely painting a picture. I could create anything I wanted using the written word.

I wrote mostly Sci-Fi or Fantasy stories, short but sweet. I have written other stories which I will post here so you can read and enjoy. I always have some form of writing going on which ranges from non-fiction to fiction. Some things I have written are articles, and one book contained a compilation of spiritual stories which I self-published in 2002.

Loved returning to a different corner of C.J. McKee's world. This book is not a direct sequel to the others in the series, and could easily be read as a standalone.

The characters are well-drawn and the reader is quickly pulled into to the story. The friendship between the girl and the dragon is well-developed. Highly recommended.

CJ's Dragon Chronicles are the reason I have started reading fantasy again. Outcast is excellent and I readily await the Goblin Queen.

One thing that is special about a book, any book really, is that it can transport you into different worlds, scenarios and characters. You can escape your world filled with stress, disappointment and unhappiness and get lost in another world.
That is exactly what CJ McKee’s The Dragon Sage Chronicles did for me. He has created a world where dragons and humans live in a together with a mutual understanding. As the dragons powers fade slowly, an old power reemerges threatening the world they hold so dear.
From the minute that I began reading Blood and Bane, I couldn’t put the book down. Everything around me faded away and I felt as though I was in a fantasy type world. A world completely opposite of the one we live in.
The sequel, Outcast, was no different. It follows a young girl named Niahm and an outcast dragon that shows up everywhere she is, shortly after her village is attacked. The relationship that buds between the two of them is mesmerizing to follow. I look forward to reading the next one.
It’s an ambitious story to take on and CJ does it with detail and flare. He has a unique talent and one that the more he writes, the more it will evolve. One amazing thing about fantasy books is they can pull you into a world where you can shut off your brain and worries and watch the world around you unfold.
I couldn’t put either of these books down!
A definite must read!
