Flower Crowns and Wedding Vows is a 16,000 word romance novelette.
Ripley Quinn is new to publishing paranormal erotica. She has written over two dozen full-length novels over the years, but her growing backlog of short stories and fantasies has sat untouched until now. Her interests are dark, mysterious, and commanding men that are mystified and often humbled by strong, stubborn women.
I hate writing negative reviews because I know how much work goes into writing a book, and I understand that reviews can either encourage or discourage an author. That said, I also believe it's important to be honest, especially when I've received an ARC in exchange for reading and reviewing it. I signed up for Flower Crowns and Wedding Vows: A Fairy Prince Romance because the premise genuinely sounded interesting. I thought it had potential, and I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the execution just didn't work for me. To be fair, this is only a 50-page story, so I wasn't expecting a deeply developed plot or complex world-building. It's difficult to tell a complete story in such a short space. However, my biggest issue wasn't the length or even the story itself—it was the writing. The writing felt very chaotic and difficult to follow. Instead of flowing naturally, it came across as a jumble of words that made it hard for me to stay engaged. I kept hoping it would improve as I read, but unfortunately, it never did. Because of that, I struggled to connect with either the characters or the romance. Another reason I picked up this book was because it was advertised as containing smut. I happened to be in the mood for that kind of read when I requested the ARC, so I was expecting it to play a more significant role in the story. Instead, those scenes didn't appear until the final couple of pages. By that point, I had already lost interest, so they didn't have the impact I was hoping for. Overall, while I think the premise had potential, the writing style and pacing simply didn't work for me. Sadly, this ended up being a disappointing read, and it's not one I can see myself revisiting. Final Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆

Flower Crowns And Wedding Vows is one of those books that left me feeling conflicted. The author’s writing style is easily the strongest part of the story. The descriptions are vivid and immersive, making it effortless to picture the world, characters, and settings. Every scene felt richly detailed, and I often found myself completely transported into the story.
Unfortunately, the plot itself didn’t resonate with me as strongly. Coming from darker romance novels, I struggled to connect with some of the story choices and pacing. While the romance had sweet moments and the fantasy elements were imaginative, the overall storyline felt a bit unusual and never fully came together for me in a satisfying way.
My biggest issue was the ending. Instead of providing a sense of closure, it left me with more questions than answers. Several plot points felt unresolved, and I finished the book feeling as though an important final chapter was missing. An ending doesn’t need to tie everything up perfectly, but I do expect it to deliver on the promises the story has been building toward. In this case, it fell short.
That said, I can absolutely see why readers who enjoy whimsical fantasy romance and atmospheric writing would appreciate this book. The author has a real talent for creating beautiful imagery and emotional moments. For me, though, strong prose wasn’t enough to overcome a storyline that felt somewhat disjointed and an ending that lacked the payoff I was hoping for.
Overall, this was a mixed read: gorgeous writing, an interesting premise, but a story and conclusion that ultimately left me unsatisfied.
Perfect for someone who just wants a sweet quick read, but not my preference. I will say I’m looking forward to checking out the author to see what else they have because of her ability to transport the reader.
This is the perfect short story and it's literally an emotional roller coaster. When I first started reading this, I expected something short and sweet, but by the end of the first chapter I had already started crying. It's so sad what happens to the main character in the first chapter, and I felt like I knew her already, despite being only a chapter in. It then becomes her fairytale dream, and the next part of the book is her love interest courting her, and he's so sweet. I hope everyone considers reading this lovely story.

This was a perfect, short lovely read. Alyssa is devastated on her wedding day when she finds her best friend and groom together. She destroys the venue and runs into the surrounding forest. Alyssa hears her name and sees a Fairy Prince, who knows her, but she struggles to remember him, then remembers his name is Gray. He has always loved her since they first met when Alyssa was 8 and found herself beyond the veil. They promised to marry when they became adults. Gray courts Alyssa and wants to marry her. Will Alyssa return to her world or stay with Gray in his mystical land?
I loved Flower Crowns and Wedding Vows! It was like a grown up fairytale. The world building was really good for something so short, as well. My only complaint would be that this book was classified as erotic fantasy but it really wasn’t; there’s one spicy scene that isn’t very descriptive at all.

When Alyssa finds her husband-to-be and her best friend together on her wedding day, she runs away, heartbroken and devastated. What she doesn't expect is to find Gray - a friend from her childhood she had made a promise to. Taken into Gray's world, she has to decide whether to stay and if her real love is there. I really enjoyed this book and shows how love can span decades. It was beautifully written. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to read a sweet fantasy novelette with deep emotional descriptions and a spicy scene at the end. I wish there was a little more detail with the storyline and characters but overall I loved it! It was so cute.

Alyssa's dream wedding is shattered by betrayal - not just by her fiance but by her best friend, supported by her other "friends" - so she flees into the storm and changes her life.
A quick YA fairy story read.
(I was fortunate to receive an ARC however the above is, as ever, my own opinion.)
