A forager's death.A recipe for betrayal.And a killer hiding in plain sight.
Fiona Firth sent the invitation. Now a woman is dead, her food was on the same stage, and the whole town is watching.
Sylvia Crane spent twenty years building real authority over who harvests, who certifies, and who gets to keep working. Not every career walked away intact.
Fiona has spent years reading kitchens, ingredients, and people with instinct. The detective on the case has learned, reluctantly, that her instincts are worth following. Miso, Fiona's ginger tabby, agrees.
The killer buried the evidence under grudges, forged records, and secrets that pass for professional courtesy in small towns.
But they're still close enough to watch Fiona work.
Tansy Blackwood writes cozy mysteries from her small Midwestern town, where she gardens, cooks, and gathers inspiration at the farmers’ market. Her household includes two cats: Miso, a mischievous orange tabby, and Biscotti, a calico with plenty of attitude. Olive, a gentle Sheltie mix, keeps everyone in line. When she is not writing or digging in the dirt, Tansy is probably sipping tea, taking Olive on walks, or plotting her next fictional crime.
Harvest Market Murder was such an enjoyable cozy mystery that had me hooked from the start. I always love mysteries set in small-town markets, and this one had the perfect mix of community charm, intriguing suspects, and plenty of unexpected twists.
I had a great time trying to solve the mystery alongside the main character. Every clue seemed to raise new questions, and just when I thought I had figured everything out, another surprise sent me back to square one. That kept the story exciting without making it feel overcomplicated.
One of my favorite parts was the setting. The harvest market brought so much life to the story, and I could almost picture myself strolling through the booths, enjoying the fall atmosphere while secretly keeping an eye out for clues. The supporting characters added warmth and humor, making the town feel like a place I’d love to visit.
This book was a cozy, entertaining read with just the right balance of mystery and heart. I finished it with a smile and would gladly return for another adventure with these characters. If you enjoy cozy mysteries with seasonal charm and clever twists, this one is definitely worth reading.

While at the Harvest Market, Fiona and her associates witness a presenter collapse on stage, prompting an inquiry by Sergeant Linda Walsh. With help from Miso, Tom, and the restaurant crew, Fiona joins the effort to uncover the secrets and reveal the hidden truth.
The book features deeply engaging, multifaceted characters and a plot that is as thrilling as it is well-structured. This is another nice story in the Tangled Herbal series with Miso the orange tabby cat & Fiona. The author does a wonderful job describing everything, so it’s easy to picture yourself in the kitchen with Marco & Fiona, as well as at the market. In this story, Fiona invites a colleague to an event & she dies on stage. She narrows the suspects to 4 people, and goes through the twists & turns to figure out whodunnit and why. I received an ARC of this book from Book Sprout & voluntarily leave this review.

This was so very interesting with the Harvest Market and all it took for someone to get into the market. Fiona has her hands full while trying to solve this murder. It took quite a few twists and turns but it all worked out. A great story.

This book had a stilted way of writing. I read it but couldn't get into it I have read other books by the author that I liked but this one was disappointing.

This mystery took a while to solve. There was very little to go on and Walsh had to rely on the schedule of the labs. I swear, Marco’s cooking descriptions make me hungry. More than once I searched for a recipe. This is a fun series, and I love reading it!
Control may be positive or negative depending upon the circumstances although the effort to maintain control may warp both the situation and the people involved.
Adding a subtle enhancement to Detective Walsh’s official investigation, Fiona explores possible motivations and methods when someone chose to control the narrative so tightly that it ended in murder.
Although it was my pleasure to receive this ARC from the author, it was completely my choice to share my honest review.
