Jasmine was a typical teen born in the Dominican Republic, whose life hadn't been so great. After leaving the only place she had ever called home, her life suddenly changed for the worse. Forced to live with a Father who wants no parts of her, physical abuse will soon show his disdain. Jasmine eventually becomes homeless, living on the streets and left to fend for herself at the tender age of sixteen. Having nowhere else to go and no one in her corner, she finds herself in a group home where she quickly becomes the target. Follow Jasmine’s journey of heartache and drug addictions, as she looks for love in all the wrong places. All she ever wanted was a career, loyal friends and more than anything, love. Sometimes in life, even the most simplest of things are never easy to come by. For Jasmine, the trouble never seemed to end, and life for her had always been a downhill spiral. Meet Jasmine Hertz, of Chanel’s debut novel, Rap Star. When a journey has been nothing but one bad situation after another and you've never learned how to trust, you’re left with no other choice, but to have a cold heart......

Jasmine has been through it all!!! This book made me pity her and not like her at the same time...she's a very confused girl that makes terrible decisions...The book was good...but I wasn't really able to connect with the characters because it didn't really go into detail about anyone else besides Jasmine...Overall it was a good story and I'm looking forward to reading part 2
I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I felt like Jasmine's story was well written & I was able to get so into it that only put it down when I absolutely had to (bathroom breaks, & sleep) lol #djm. I finished it in less than a day & can't wait for the next installment. Thanks Robin Channel I look forward to reading much more from you in the future.
I really liked this story about Jasmine. This book takes you from her beginning to her present. Jasmine had a tough upbringing but she managed to make it through. She has some really good friends who helped her along the way. Jasmine was human. She won and she lost. This book makes you feel that you are on the journey with her. Great job Robin Chanel. I highly recommend this book because it's been a minute since I gave a book 5 stars.
