Calico Cross is a girl unlike any other, a ‘were’ and different even within her own kind. The only place she feels true acceptance is with her three sisters. The love between them is strong and binding.
On one fateful night, the ruthless pack leader, Creed, attacks, with only one purpose in sight: making the Cross sisters join him once and for all. But the girls have other plans. In a brave act, they flee…leaving all behind for a chance at freedom.
As fate would have it, the girls find a refuge in Appleville, where they will seek the solitude they have always wanted, but will they find it?
Their new neighbor, Dane Savage, may be gorgeous, but he’s also rude and obnoxious, giving Calico more than she bargained for. But she’s not planning to let that untamed beast ruffle her fur, and she just might be able to teach him a lesson or two. With the help of her new, unlikely (and dead) friends, Calico may be able to have the life she has always dreamed of… that is if she can stay hidden.
This is a story unlike so many others. This is the story of Calico Cross.

DeAnna Kinney is what you could call an eclectic writer at its best. If she can dream it, she can write it. Her main focus is YA Paranormal but also writes New Adult and Adult Romance, Action Adventure, Children's books, and even an Apocalyptic Christian Thriller Romance. She considers herself as fun-loving and a bit peculiar. Besides writing, she loves reading, all things purple, Star Wars, acting like a goofball with all of her friends, and dancing while she cooks (she can see her kids rolling their eyes as we speak). She believes whole-heartedly that chocolates and a good book go hand in hand. And, having experienced it herself, believes utterly in the power of true love.
She lives in the lovely North Carolina with her husband, four kids, and a dog named Link (aka Monster).

She is very hands-on with her fans and thrives on their interaction.

Her upcoming works include:

*Maybe something about Zombies, Bullying, and perhaps the end of the world, although not necessarily in that order.

Light-hearted, with a ton of fabulous dialogue, DeAnna Kinney puts her own spin on shifters, legends and that delightful formula of “not on your life” to “I love you” to “we can’t be together because…” to a great reveal that will have you breathing a sigh of relief. Calico Cross is as colorful as the title implies as four shifter sisters are on the lam and trying to stay one step ahead of an evil pack leader.

Calico is fierce, loves her family dearly and the four young women are their own pack, each always looking out for each other. She has attitude in spades, often her anger backfires on her and she does admit it to herself as she left me laughing at the predicaments she got herself into, all to avoid the unfriendly hot guy who lives like a hermit boy scout next door. Why do they seem to make each other’s hackles rise? Why does he get such pleasure in ruffling her feathers?
Just when Calico thinks she has Dane all figured out, he shows other sides, one that is kind, one that is protective and powerful. When evil shows up to take the women back to their old pack, who saves the day but Dane and the shock he provides all brings truth to a long ago legend. But what does this mean for Calico and Dane? Is it possible for them to be together or will shifter laws interfere?

DeAnna Kinney has her own special gift of storytelling that has a sunny feel to it, with quirky characters, honorable heroes and always just one more twist than I expected! Fast-paced, full of wonderfully descriptive scenes, get ready to chuckle, gasp and sigh as this swoon worthy tale unfolds.

I received this copy from DeAnna Kinney in exchange for my honest review.

Loved this book. I loved how close all of the Cross sisters were. This book is such a page turner, I couldn't put it down. Absolutely adored how much character this book had, I've never read anything quite like it, and I hope to read more about the Cross sisters.

I can't believe that I'm typing this, but I actually liked Calico Cross better than the Charity series!

No disrespect to the Charity series (because I LOVE it), but this book was just perfect. I am a total sucker for a good romance, and Calico Cross was that and so much more. The paranormal aspect added suspense and seemed realistic enough that I found myself wondering what could be in the woods outside my window...

My absolute favorite aspect of the novel was, without a doubt, the humor. The plot had some funny twists . and the characters themselves were just a funny bunch.

For anyone who hasn't read the book, read it! I recommend it for anyone who loves paranormal romance and/or relatable and funny characters.

I have a feeling I will be rereading Calico Cross soon (because it really is that good) and I sure hope that there will be a sequel!

The lovely author DeAnna Kinney sent me an ARC copy of this book to read and review, which was pretty damn cool. I went into this book not knowing what to expect, and I was very pleasantly surprised. This book is very different compared to others I have read, and I loved how individual the characters were, with all of their wacky uniqueness. I loved the plot, with all of the digged 'weres'. I especially loved the whole were-cougar thing, and I completely loved the cat vibes. I'm also a complete sucker for sibling relationships, and this book had a sucker punch of sibling love.
Overall, I found myself enjoying this book more than I thought I would, and would love to see more from Calico and her wonderful world. The characters, relationships and story was beautiful.
Lastly, one huge thank you to DeAnna for adding me to the credits and sending me the ARC copy, you are a true gem!

When I started Calico Cross I knew it was going to be amazing.
DeAnna Kinney has been my favorite author ever since I read Exposing Kitty Langley. She never fails to impress.
Calico Cross is different from her other books but also the same. The way she writes her books is amazing. They never drag on and never get boring. Multiple times her book have you sitting on the edge of your seat.
Calico Cross is the perfect book for any age. It's easy to read. Fun to read. And it has romance so any girl should read it.
Once you pick it up there is no going back.
I did read it for a honest review, but even if I wasn't asked I would have wrote a review for this book.

Once again I was bestowed with the opportunity to receive an ARC copy from DeAnna Kinney and I thank her for trusting me to give an honest review.
Calico Cross is another faced paced romance that has you wishing for more when it finishes. Although I really enjoyed this book, especially the relationships shared between the sisters, the relationship between Dane and Calico felt a little rushed. I loved that Dane’s point of view is included and hope to read more about these character’s lives in the near future.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance and DeAnna Kinney.

Such a great quick read! I loved learning about Calico and her sisters. They are a fun and loving pack all unto themselves. I enjoyed the reference to the DeAnna's other books, the Charity series. It's always fun when an author ties in a favorite series to a new book. It makes the fictional world you are reading about so much larger. I can't wait to read the other books in the series. I also hope we see more of Ivey and May and their story!

When I first wrote this book I wasn't sure it would be a series, but as I went along, I fell in love with these quirky characters. In the end I knew there needed to be more. So I am happy to say that there will be 3 books in this series.

Short book, so it moved fast. Too fast in my opinion. (I think I just need to stop getting these freebie short books, they're not turning out to be too pleasing for me.) It's a short, cute read for someone looking for that. I would've preferred it longer and with more time for the two main characters to build a connection over. It's the typical, BAM: we met; BAM: don't like each other; BAM: now we do. And so on and so forth.

I also would've preferred a bit more believable dialogue. .

In any case, I do believe that the short and free books have to have managed expectations. So it was alright. A short, quick, and clean read for when you're looking for that. I won't be continuing the series, but that's just me.

"Calico Cross" is pretty dreadful!
Cardboard cut-out characters, a plot that is so thin as to be transparent and trite dialogue, all combine to dumb it down.
And the ending - the least said about it the better.
It is definitely not for me!

Ok

I thought it was fast moving. I wish the story was more developed, more time for a attraction between Dane and Caki

I was give this book by the author for an honest review. I enjoyed the concept of this book. It was a little short for my taste and it felt rushed. I loved the characters all the sisters were fun to read about along with the ghostly friends. Dane was also a nice character i really enjoyed reading his point of view i just wish there was more of it. I would have liked to see his reaction to her around Blake.

Now you might wonder why i only gave it 4 stars as oppose to the 5 stars i have giving to all the book from this author. Well i was not fond of the povs of Creed, Blake or Blue i found that confusing. I wouldn't have minded if Creeds pov was in the beginning once he found the girls gone. Just because i gave it 4 stars doesn't mean its not worth the read it is.

I do hope this turns into a series i would enjoy reading about the other sisters and snippets of how Calico and Dane are doing.

If your into Shifter books, Sisterly love, Ghost, or and all around fun read this is a book for you. Check it out.

P.s. Loved the Levi Drake reference Loved Charity Moon Read it if you haven't great series.

Although this is a paranormal romance, this one is slightly different than what I have written in the past. I really enjoyed this story and the characters. I hope you enjoy it as well. Who knows, if you all like it maybe I will write about these characters again.
