Arden and her friends thought that they’d found their salvation from a dying Earth in the underground utopia of Future Lab but their hopes for making a life in the city are dashed when the former Director comes back into power and wants to free the hominees, a race of artificially intelligent beings, from their dependence upon humans by making humanity extinct.
