Dangerous

Rate this book
It’s wrong. It’s obscene. And it’s dangerous…

I can’t frickin’ stand Nate Sloane. He’s a foul-mouthed, arrogant son of a billionaire who can’t keep his you-know-what in his pants, and the sight of him makes me want to hurl despite his perfect face and panty-dropping body.

I’m a sensible, straight-A student who just graduated as valedictorian from Oakover Academy on a full scholarship. Getting involved with Nate for just one steamy night a few months ago was a huge mistake…and it won’t happen again.

But now my Mom is engaged to his Dad. Great. Luckily, I only have to spend the summer with them all in one house before heading off to college. Should be easy, right?

Wrong…

This is a YA/NA cross over, that's so shallow that it's not really worth reading.

Lauren and Nate are about to become step siblings. His father is super wealthy and is marrying L's mom. But it turns out the kids went to school together and she hooked up with him one night. It ended badly and they hate each other, but there's a fine line between love and hate. They eventually recross it and they regularly have hot monkey sex without being caught until....

So there's smoking, a potential date rape and a kidnapping. 18 yr olds acting like 14 yr olds. They were not very sophisticated in their thinking until they were pushed to do so and then it was Nate that continually came through as a literal and figurative hero, except ewww he smokes and that was a turnoff for me. I'm still not sure what the point of Lauren was.

There were elements that could have made this significantly better and more intriguing, given the dramatic plot points, but they all end up flapping in the wind. The ending/epilogue was so completely ridiculous.

Step sibling romances are big right now, and this felt like a "me too" which added nothing to the sub genre at all.

Nothing “Dangerous” actually I have no idea why give it this title unless they tried to base it off in 1 single incident towards the beginning of the story which nothing resulted from it other than a fee punches. This book was written in a rush not much thought and or effort put into it in comparison to others of this genre. I have read several of this type and this by far is the worst and will never recommend it nor do i plan on reading anything from the author again. The way i see it is if the way the book was written failed not only as a story but also failed as the way the author writes and leaves one feeling empty and almost like you just read an elementary aged story with how some of the settings and plots took place then more than likely this is her style in ALL her writings. SHALLOW and EMPTY! The only thing that is obvious is that it is a Young Adult novel i would push more and say not even Adult but more for Mature Older Teenagers because after all these kids had just finished high school and hadn’t even stepped foot in college yet.

Fun

This was just a fun quick read for me whilst having all the holiday joy going on. The only difference between a 4 & 3 star was she was a bit of a jellyfish. I get it wasn't in her nature to be brave & stand up for herself but you would have thought with him saving her from Eric she could clearly see his true personality. Plus with his Father basically throwing him out was really ridiculous. She seemed really very high school while Nate was way more mature. So all that with the few typos is the why 3 stars as opposed to 4. Would recommend still if you're like me just looking for something quick till all your holiday duties are done.

Quick read

This was another quick read from Caitlin Daire. It’s a good story. Nate seems way more mature than Lauren is even though she’s supposedly supposed to be the “smarter” one.

I’m giving it a 4 star honestly because I’ve read so many of her stories now and they all seem to be pretty much the same. I think I’ll take a break from her books and read something else. It’s still worth the read though.

This story was hot! You could see how attracted Lauren and Nate were to each other. I read Dangerous in one go and was up until the early hours as I couldn't sleep until I found out if they got their HEA. A lot was packed into this story, but it never felt rushed. A definite recommended read, and I'm looking forward to seeing what else this talented author has written

Nate & Lauren

They hooked up at a party where Lauren lost her V-card and because of a vicious misunderstanding they Wind up hating each other. Then comes the day when his dad and her mom announce to them they are engaged to be married. A few more misunderstandings and a kidnapping attempt finally brings them together.

Excellent read

Absolutely amazing read. Not your typical stepbrother romance. Very engaging and intriguing. Couldn’t put it down. I know Cassie and Eric weren’t “main” characters, but would have loved to know what happened to them.

Holy drama!!

So much happened in this one. Some serious topics were covered along with some amazing hot scenes and some amazing love.
These two are young but they are so great together. They went through so much to get to their happily ever after.

wow

This book seemed to start off rocky for me at first. But then it just kept getting better and better. I did not see that big right turn this book took coming but Ihonestly enjoyed this book. Step brother tropes are definitely my favorite 🖤

It was cute, and sexy. The more books I read by this author, the similar they seem. Still liked the characters though!

This book was amazing and I felt connected to each character and every word. So many emotions that I felt like I was inside the story.

Lauren, the eternal good girl, decides to give up her V-card, before graduation, to Nate, the eternal bad boy, during a party. The evening, however, ends badly and Lauren storms out. The final weeks of school end up being hellish for her.

To make matters worse, her mother springs a surprise on her: she’s just gotten engaged to Nate’s billionaire father and they are going to be step-siblings!

Told in dual POVs, I really enjoyed this story. A couple of well-placed lies means that Lauren and Nate initial relationship is completely hostile, even though they are fiercely attracted to one another. Nate cannot get his mind off Lauren and is completely turned off by other women. Until, one night, Lauren goes out on a date which turns sour and Nate rescues her, and they start to unravel the truth.

I really enjoyed the chemistry and passion between Lauren and Nate, and reading about the dynamics of their relationships with their respective parents. There’s added excitement when someone from Lauren’s past brings danger into their lives and Nate would do anything to keep her safe.

It was a great story and I loved the closing scene!

While I liked the story, thinking back I can't remember much of it... it feels like not much happened in this story and when it did, it happened all at once and was over with quickly and forgotten. If I'm being honest, the thing that stood out most to me is their steamy scenes... yeah, they were hooooottt!! ;D

An interesting turn of events there, towards the end- with what happened to Lauren. This isn't really a spoiler since every single book I've read in this series has the same thing happen, but... Lauren and Nate get outted because they were being stupid- which is getting tired and rote, give us something different!

I was pissed that Eric apparently didn't get what was coming to him... I don't know why often people have the attitude that "nothing actually happened, I just want to forget about it." Yeah, well what nearly happened to you is going to ACTUALLY continue happening to others since he now thinks he can get away with it. That was something I wish the author had actually addressed instead of letting it fall through the cracks.

This is one of the best books I've read in this genre - not so much for the writing style but for the plot build up & the characters.

Nate starts noticing Lauren and considers a relationship with her even before they have sx. There are some misunderstandings but they get over it.

Interestingly Nate is the mature person in this relationship - the one dealing with all the heartbreaks.
Lauren is more unforgiving and temperamental but she realizes this and tries to change.

The transition of their relationship is also easy to follow - mainly cos its not Love Out of the Blue after The FCK, which is the usual standard for the books in this genre.
The interest was there, mainly from Nate's part.

Its also very refreshing to read a book where a playboy hero considers seriously about a relationship and then goes for it - as opposed to the usual stories where it drops in on them in the form of an impossible-to-ignore-girl-who-is-the-best-fck-tey'd.

Another thing I liked is that Nate didnt 'try to forget' the girl by sleeping with all the available chics.

Omg.... that's the words I could describe this book. You have Nate Sloane the billionaire's son and the most popular guy in school. The guy that slept with all the girls that how you "open there legs" for him. But no body knows the guy behind the mask.... of how his actually sick of being the player and he wants a real girlfriend.
Then you have Lauren Torres the straight A student and the goodie to shoe of the school. Her friend Cassie toke her to a party to let loose and that one night she has decided that she well let loose and be bad for once. She meets Nate and that she has decided to cash in her V-card with him.
Long story short they find out after high that their parents has been dating and are now engage. Feelings between Nate and Lauren's grow stronger. But that's all I could says before spoiling the whole book. This book is a must read book if you like erotic/ romance book.

Steamy

This was definitely steamy. It was cute and sweet, not dark. They were young but it was classic. Nice story, quick read.

This was a really good book. It's hot, sexy, and sweet. Lauren and Nate just graduated from Oakover Academy. Lauren was there on a full scholarship because she was raised by a single mother who worked hard as a nurse. Nate was there because his father was a billionaire and he'd been kicked out of several other boarding schools. Lauren is the good girl that works hard for her grades and to make her mother proud. Nate is the asshole playboy that doesn't seem to care about anything. At one party, Lauren decides she wants to be bad for a change and has sex with Nate but a miscommunication and lies make it that they hate each other. Right after they graduate, Lauren and Nate find out that their parents have been in a relationship and are engaged to marry.

Definitely worth reading.

I love these books, they can have so much passion and love. It shows the hardships and how they grow not only as a couple but as people. Lauren and Nate are no exception, they had the highs and the lows. They over came all the lows together. They helped one another become the people they actually really wanted to be. They went against all odds and proved everyone wrong, that even though they were only 18 and just starting their lives, that they were it for one another. They found the love people dream about. It wasn't easy and it was severely difficult, they had more than themselves to think about. The book was just really good, I was very pleased with it.

Not too bad.

The book has a lot of potential. I feel like the tone in the writing is a bit inconsistent throughout the book. For instance, the love scenes are pretty good. Maturely written; hot and steamy. But then the characters open their mouths and I'm tuning "shut it right now. Stop talking you douches" granted they are supposed to be 18, but I found their lack of maturity a little irritating, given the summary of the sex scenes, I expected the characters to have a little bit better behavior.

It's a stepbrother romance. Of course you're gonna like it!

Lauren is the good girl. Book smart with a good head on her shoulders. Always does the right thing and plays by the rules. That is until one night when she finally goes to a party with her best friend. She throws caution to the wind and decides to lose her VCard to the billionaire bad boy from her school, Nate Sloan. Miscommunication between these two after just that one encounter turns into hate. Then the unthinkable happens, they are reunited again except now are being told they will be one big happy family.

I've read two books of this series and I can tell that:
1. Stepfather is a billionaire always
2. They're all hot
3. Boy harasses girl
4. Burning chemistry
5. Someone best friends screws with the main characters possible-relationship
6. Fast happening dramatic problems in the couple
7. As they're stepbrothers, they both have daddy/mommy issues
8. "I love love love you" because we had sex
9. Pain in the ass gals
10. I do not recommend this series, you better read other series about stepbrothers

Dangerous is what this book is called and its what will grip you. A bad boy and smart girl clash in wits and love as they find out that they are about to become siblings. What a better way to start a romance but with feuding and dangerous situations around each chapter.

Being this is my second book I've read of Caitlin Daire's. I've fallen in love with her step-brother series. She is able to grip a reader within the first chapter. I can't wait to read more.

Typical Stepbrother who is arrogant good looking rich kid who the nerdy girl gets involved with. I liked Nate but his dad bothered me a lot. His dad and nice Anne just did not go together as a couple IMHO.

I think if book was fleshed out a bit more meat to it that some of it wouldn't of seemed too quick to evolve. Not bad.

I think Nate may be my favorite out of all Caitlin Daire's heroes. And Caitlin Daire is basically the queen of one-liners, but I think she outdid herself in this book. "If you ever wanted to kill yourself, all you'd have to do is climb to the top of your ego and jump down to your IQ" may be my favorite line ever.
