Lives have been lost, alliances have been split, and the answers to Brynn’s unending questions are in sight, though still escaping her. But after losing both Ty and Jonah inside of the mazelike facility of A1 with a promise to herself that she’ll come back for them, Brynn wakes up in a mysterious cabin with no idea of where she is, how long she’s been there, and no memory of how she escaped from A1 and the murderous A.I., Eris. Now Brynn must try to piece her broken memories back together while finding herself instinctually drawn back to A1, as if someone else is calling the shots in her mind. With time for her home-continent Halcyon’s termination drawing near and time running out for her friends who are trapped, Brynn has to make sense of the conflicting thoughts in her brain before everything around her comes crashing down. The final stand-off between Brynn and Eris will prove that only one can remain when the truth comes out.
Shannen Crane Camp was born and raised in Southern California, where she developed a love of reading, writing, and anything having to do with film. Fantastic ending to an incredible series! I'm going to miss reading about Brynn, Ty, Jonah, AMBER, and the others :) I loved this book & can't wait to read what Shannen Crane Camp comes up with next!
I was anxiously awaiting the end of this series and I was not disappointed after all the built up anticipation and suspense. These books aren't just another generic addition to the YA dystopian genre and you should be reading the Sugar Coated Series. I found myself feeling the spectrum of emotions in this book and after the huge bomb dropped in Rose Tinted didn't think I could be so surprised again, or that it would have such emotional impact.
Author Shannen Crane Camp truly brought her A game here and you can see it not only in the quality of the writing, but that as a reader you're satisfied at the end of a trilogy. I think that we're usually left with too many answers or not enough at the end of a series, and I finished this book with the perfect balance. Don't get me wrong, I'll be thinking about these characters- Brynn, Ty, and especially Jonah- for a very long time to come! But that speaks volumes about how wonderful they were fleshed out as characters and the amazing journey we got to on with them in Silver Lined.
I've never read a Utopian Book before, but I'm happy I finally did! This trilogy had fun characters with whom I felt a strong connection. The main character, Brynn, seems a little reckless in the beginning, but as you read on, you find why she is acting the way she does. Her upbeat personality is infectious and her individual style refreshing. I would love to read more novels like this. People trying to make a difference by caring deeply. I recommend this book for teens because of the intentional use of mild language, strong sense of friendship and an influence to make a difference in the world by following good instincts, no matter what everyone else is doing.
Great book. I must say, in the future, I am going to rethink when I start to read books with sequels. Waiting for this trilogy to come out one by one was painful. I think I will wait till they are all out and then have a reading marathon. No wait. Shannen did a great job wrapping this book up.
