I bloody loved it!! I was so happy to be back in Meadowside and getting Maverick and Georgie’s story 😍

There were some sad moments in this one which had me in tears but it also had moments that made me smile and laugh and I think that just shows C Smith’s writing talent!

I know this book is about Maverick and Georgie but I need to take a moment and mention my boy - Ace Bowman 😍 I just love him. I love the bromance between Ace and Mav, there was one moment especially that had me giggling but I found myself smiling everytime they were together 👏🏻

Now to Mav and Georgie, I don’t have much to say except, just wow! Their chemistry was on fire! I’m putting it out there, Mav and Georgie are my favourite couple from this series and I could have read 200 more pages about them!

The tears I shed throughout this book was insane but especially near the end 😭

I really loved this book, but… it was short, I needed so much more of Maverick and Georgie — more of their story, more of their chemistry, and most importantly, MORE of their love story unfolding. Because they are so so good 🥹❤️

I absolutely loved that Maverick is a boxing trainer and that Georgie turns to him to learn self-defense because of her toxic ex. The way he takes care of her, helps her, and tries so hard to hold back his feelings because of their 16-year age gap… while Georgie is basically like, age is just a number and knows she feels the same way. 🫠 and the fuck it moment, He calls her baby, that Scottish accent, and his whole aura has me weak in the knees. 🫠❤️

I was soooo excited to receive this ARC as I've loved all of the Finding Forever series & couldn't wait to see what this spin-off instalment held, & I wasn't disappointed. You have the same fab writing style, giving you a balance of fun & flirty & spice, along with dark themes that give depth to the storyline that you expect from this author, but with this instalment you have a slightly sinister tension rippling through the narrative which I loved.

This book follows Mav (MMC) a grumpy Scottish boxer whose moved down from the Highlands to be closer to his Sister (a character in the Finding Forever Series), he's tall, dark & broody, rides a motorbike & has an obsession for Georgie (MFC). She's the sister of Ryan (another character in the Finding Forever Series) & after her parents died when her & her siblings where young, being the oldest she gave up her singing dreams to keep the family together, so she's working at a local supermarket & fallen for a man whose been mentally abusing her for months, but he's never hit her!....things come to ahead in their relationship & they go their separate ways, only he doesn't seem to be able to let her go!! Whilst she is moving on into the slowest of slow burn relationships, which creates some gorgeous moments, but also some heart wrenching ones.

You may think this is a small town romance read with all sunshine & roses, but you would be 100% wrong. It gives you the light moments, but also the dark, raw times which is what makes these characters so relatable as they journey through the pages, they hook your interest & take you along for the ride. The descriptive narrative is superb, your really get the feeling your in the clear, crisp expanse of the Highlands, the cosy small town vibe of Meadowside, or the sweety boxing gym! Whilst the character development for both main characters is immense & it is good to see her get stronger, whilst he starts to tap into his emotions.

Overall, another captivating read that will give you the feels, from kicking your feet & going 'ahhh' at the swoon-worthy moments, to getting all hot under the collar form the spice & a bit twitchy with all the suspense & tension from the stalker vibes! I loved it!

Well, Chrissie has done it again. Another Meadowside book that completely pulled me in, made me laugh, broke my heart and had me turning the pages like there was no tomorrow.

The thing I love about Chrissie’s books is how deeply you feel everything alongside the characters. She truly has a way of making you feel what they’re feeling. She also doesn’t shy away from difficult, real-life issues, but writes them with so much care and emotion, while still giving her characters the happy ending that so many people don’t get in real life. And, of course, there’s plenty of Chrissie’s brilliant humour sprinkled throughout to balance it all out.

As for her characters… I adored them. Like I always do. And I loved that we got some appearances from our big idiot Acey boy, especially getting to see his friendship with Mav. Although, the poor boy having to pay for his best friend’s time definitely hurt my feelings for him! But I just loved how wonderfully Mav accepts him. And Georgie… gosh, my heart broke for her. She’s had such a difficult life alongside her siblings, and ending up in the position she did was just awful. You really can’t help but feel for her, but her strength and determination was amazing. Then Mav, the big, older, grumpy Scottish boxer with a man bun and, may I add, 8 piercings, steps in and makes everything better in the most perfect way.

And that plot twist towards the end?! I did NOT see that coming and it threw me well off. Things like this just don’t happen in the small town known as Meadowside! Just WOW. My flabbers were absolutely agasted.

I’ve been reading Chrissie’s books since the very beginning, and somehow the Meadowside gang managed to turn this dark-romance lover into someone who genuinely adores fluffy romance. I never expected it, but this series has such a special place in my heart. It’s still the only fluffy romance I’m completely obsessed with, which probably says it all.

And just like that, another Meadowside book done and dusted, and I bloody loved it. I’m still obsessed with this crazy little town and all its characters.

ARC Review

This is my first time reading a book by this author, and I was aware that this is a spin-off from other books in the series. While reading those books beforehand may have given me a little more context about the other characters, I definitely didn’t feel like I was missing anything, and I was able to fully enjoy this story on its own.

This book was funny, heartbreaking, and harrowing in places. Georgie, the FMC, goes through a life-changing and incredibly traumatic experience, and watching her journey throughout the story was both emotional and empowering. Maverick, the grumpy MMC, teaches her how to fight for herself, protect herself, and, perhaps most importantly, shows her what it truly means to be loved.

The chemistry between Georgie and Maverick was perfect, and the spice was so well-timed throughout the story. I loved that the romance didn’t overshadow the rest of the plot, and the tension between them kept me completely invested.

I also loved how the suspense and mystery were woven into the story. I found myself trying to piece things together and make predictions, only to doubt myself and I wasn’t completely sure until the very end!

Overall, this was such a great romance read with all the tropes we love.

Fight for you was my first proper romance book and what a ride that was. First of all, are there applications out there to sign up for my very own Maverick because YES PLEASE!!😏😏 Muscles, Tattoos, Piercings, 'Who Did This To You' vibes, I am all in!!😍
But secondly this book was written incredibly well. I am used to loooong slow burns so it caught me by surprise when things happened much "faster" than normal but thats not to say I didn't enjoy it. Slutty little glasses, a man who gets onto his knees for you praying to his Queen❤️‍🔥

There was moments in this book where I felt the pain of what Georgie was going through deep into my soul but in a weird way that pain made me love the book even more. It shows the true strength of who you are when you are going through a very traumatic time. Ive realised the title Fight For You has more than one meaning but you'll have to read it to find out why🤭

Well I ate this book up in one go, I couldn’t put it down. The book had so many elements from romance to suspense just couldn’t stop reading.
The characters just loved them both and everyone would want a maverick in their lives 😍

Georgie hasn’t has it easy from having lost one parent to then lose another to alcoholism. Georgie and her brother had to then look after their 2 younger sisters. She then finds herself in an abusive relationship.
She finds her strength to leave, and asks maverick to help her with some self defence classes. There has always been great chemistry and this just brings them closer.

Maverick how can you not fall in love with him, tough on the outside but yet inside yearning for the Georgie from afar, thinking that his too old for her keeps his distance from her, but after finding out she was in an abusive relation will do everything to keep her safe. Even more so after finding out she has a stalker. And did I mention his pierced????

You definitely won’t be disappointed reading this. Has romance, suspense, twists and turns with lot of banter and spice 🌶️

Ah! I want a Maverick 😍
Ever since I found out about him I have been desperate to read his book and was so excited when I found out he was getting one 🔥

I’ve loved this series and group of characters so much and I’m sad that we have to say Goodbye 😭

Georgie has been through so much in her life. Losing her Dad, then losing her Mum even though their relationship was over a long time ago. She became the guardian to her little sister’s and had to change the route of her life. No longer able to follow her dreams, she became a Mum figure to Rubie & Mae, along with her brother Ryan helping as well.

She is in an abusive relationship but can’t seem to find the courage to leave. Georgie & Mav have this pull and he seems to show up at her hardest moments, showing that he cares and he’ll always be there when she needs him.

Mav being worried about their age difference but that doesn’t matter to Georgie. He shows Georgie how strong she actually is deep down. He is there for her while letting her be the strong woman she really is. Mav is kind, caring, strong and a full on alpha in the bedroom 🌶️

I loved seeing Mav get the family he always wanted and Georgie getting the life she deserves along with a man who loves her and the girls so much.

I can’t forget about Mav & Ace 😂
I just love them together 💙

Then there’s Georgie,in an abusive relationship that she desperately needs to end asap!
God this was swooooon city and I was here for it all..
The chemistry,the spice was just spot on..

Firstly. I FINALY GOT MAVERICKS STORY😍😍😍😍 THE WAY THIS MAN YEARNS. JESUS CHRIST!
I FLEW through this. The same way I always do.
I did not expect to fall for these as much as I did. The love Maverick has for Georgie is unmatched🥺
The strength and determination Georgie had. She’s a strong ass FMC who needed a man like Maverick.
Maverick is the grumpy older Scottish guy who we’ve seen throughout C.Smith books and fell in love with.
A fucking pierced MMC?! Does that surprise anyone that our grumpy Mav is pierced? It certainly doesn’t surprise me😉

The twists, the turns. THE PLOT.
This book consumed me from the very beginning. This book healed things deep rooted in me that I buried for so long. I will always always scream about this book.

This is my first book from this author. - Received an early review copy in return to leave an honest review.

At first it's not really clear how the main characters, Mav and Georgie, know each other. That becomes clear later on.
Soon you're pulled into Georgie's pain and sadness from her abusive relationship. The love from Mav towards Georgie and her sister is clear in his words & actions.

Georgie goes through hell but rises above it, with Mavericks help. While he turns from a grumpy hermit to a more open man.

It contains a major plot twist that I did not see coming. Not sure how I felt about that 'closure'.

All in all a good storyline.
There were bits that felt a bit repetitive, taking me out of the momentum of the story. Did make me curious to the Finding Forever series.

Georgie broke my heart all the heartbreaks she gone through in her life bringing up little sisters as she lost her parents but how she will not have her ex Alex beat her down and she will fight and show she is not scared and keep her head held high and make her stronger 💪🏻

Once again C.Smith has made characters I’ve fallen head over heels for. C.Smith just has a way of writing that just makes to very difficult to put the book down. When I met Mav in Found And Flirty I just knew I needed a book focusing on him and C.Smith didn’t disappoint. I just love how protective and yet what a big friendly giant he is. And then sweet Georgie … she has been through so much and yet still kept it together for her younger sisters. She deserved a man like Maverick and I’m so glad they got there happily ever after.

Oh how I’ve been waiting for Maverick’s story, he’s the big grumpy Scottish man who you’ve seen throughout the series.
And c.smith didn’t disappoint with this one because I just absolutely adored his and Georgie story so much.

Like all of C.smith books; it’s more than just a beautiful love story blended into that, you have so many deeper and emotional elements as well and I just love how they all go and blend so beautifully together to make a beautiful story, that tugs at your heartstrings.

And oh my heart Maverick & Georgie were such a perfect couple. He loved her so much and wanted to protect her from anything that could hurt her, but he also taught her to be able to fight on her own if needed. He stood with her through her darkness and her pain and loved her for being her.

And Georgie my heart broke for her but I absolutely loved her strength and her fight, she loved her siblings and she loved Maverick, and she took back her power.

Just like the rest of c.smith books, it was perfect in every single way, great characters, an interesting storyline, a perfect balance of humour and fun moments with the characters but also showing deeper and emotional moments as well.

All around a beautiful and perfect story.

Fight For You by C. Smith I have been so excited for this one! As soon as Mav (Maverick) was introduced to us in the Finding Forever series, I knew I would want more of him.

I always fly through C. Smith’s books, and this was no exception.

I loved Mav and Georgie’s story. They were both lovely characters, even if I was a little jealous of Georgie 😃. You really do feel sorry for Georgie throughout this story, though. She has been through a lot, and I was so glad that she came out of it all stronger than when the story started.

This one had such a great plot to it, and the little twist near the end? Not what I was expecting at all! As always with her books, there are some deeper emotional elements that really tug at your heartstrings.

Now, I really need to know what’s next, because whatever it is, I know I will NEED it!

I loved everything about this book! I’m so glad Chrissie gave us Mav’s story because he is absolutely perfect for Georgie (and Mae and Rubie 🥹). I adore the small town of Meadowside and honestly never want to leave!

The return of so many much-loved characters was the perfect addition, special shout-out to Ace Bowman because reading him again was EVERYTHING!

As for that last hour… my heart was genuinely in my mouth! I was completely invested and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

Another great book by C. Smith. I would have binged this in one sitting, but sleep had other ideas.

Mav and Georgie were perfect, and the two of them finally giving in to their feelings was like taking a deep breath and a long exhale.

Poor Georgie was really put through her paces, but she came out stronger. And Mav helped her through it rather than overshadow her.

The sisters, Rubie and Mae played such a big part but in a way that tied it all together, putting family at the heart of it.

It's spicy, has some heavy scenes, but overall it was a great read.

What a beautiful book! I always fly through C. Smith books, I can never put them down and this one was no exception. I have been wairing for Mav’s book since Found and Flirty and it did not disappoint. I absolutely love Mav and Georgie, they’re both such amazing characters and seeing them grow together and finally get their happily ever after was just beautiful. I adore the writing in these books; I laugh, I cry, I blush and I enjoy every minute of it. I like how these books not only have the romance and the spice but they have such an interesting plot too. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I highly recommend reading the Finding Forever series!

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed myself. I can honestly say it won’t be my last. It’s a standalone but it’s a great quick read that I devoured in one sitting.

Georgie is our FMC, she is sweet, kind-hearted and loves her family with everything she has. She is one of the guardians to her 2 younger siblings due to the loss of both their parents at a young age. She has made plenty of sacrifices and continues to make more but these ones are more the emotional type due to a toxic ex.

Mav is a caring, kind and protective green flag MMC. He has a soft spot for Georgie but feels like he can’t act on it due to their age gap.

There is so much yearning and understanding between them that you just know that even with their age gap they would complement each other. There is also a great amount of sexual tension that you know that they will combust.

Things happen that force Georgie to seek out Mav’s help.

I don’t want to give too much away but there is a lot of feels, intrigue and great spice in this books that will keep you hooked and turning the pages.

Would 100% recommend as a read if you like a tatted and pierced green flag MMC

I’ve always felt sorry for Georgie because of the hand she was dealt in life and this book made me even more sad and angry for everything she’s gone through.
I never liked ‘Adam’ and absolutely LOVE Mav the gentle giant.
Well done C.Smith, you’ve smashed another book in this amazing series, I’m sad to see it come to an end and can’t wait for more books/series from you in the future
