Seven year old Bethany suffers daily at the hands of her father and his new wife. Stripped of her clothes, food and any dignity. The abuse continues at school too but less shocking than what she receives at home. Those who should love and care for her only warp her mind into believing she is a nasty little girl.
This heartbreaking novella visits themes of sexual abuse and child abuse.

Happy ending but some parts was hard . My dad never done what her dad did someone else that to me. That part of a mans body should never be forced in a mouth. Sad when it is. I will never understand why any one gets thrills out of abusing others. I know when I have pointed out abuse some think this is not abuse when done to some. Hard to explain.
I had a friend reach out and read this book after discussing the David Peltzer books and how our system needed work. I read it in less than two hours. It is very short and a very quick read. I wish there was more information. Not description of the torture or what Beth went through, but more of teacher, social worker, adults she had to come in contact with. Trying to comprehend how this child could be ignored for so long. I know the writing is to come from a Child's point of view and the missing knowledge and lack of interaction, flow with that point of view. But some chapters from an older Beth would have been nice. Word of Caution: Some parts are very hard to read and a few paragraphs I personally had to skip over. There are also parts that made me angry with every fiber of my being. Not for young readers!
Tear jerking story of survival and hope .the story tells of a confused little girl who's life is made miserable by the people who are ment to live and care for her

Very sad story of a young child who's life is turned into a nightmare after her mother died & she is placed with her biological father and his partner. Very upsetting tale about the extremely cruel abuse she endured at their hands until one day... A bit short though well told.
Thank you for sharing your story. Some parts of this book made me sit back and think how can anyone do these things to a child. But in doing so it highlights the suffering children face.
Nasty Little Girl by B C Monahan is a novella with great insights into the psychological effects on abused children and the lies they get fed to prevent them from telling.
Well written story, from the perspective of seven year old Bethany. Forced to live with her Father and his new wife Linda, Bethany is stripped of her clothes, food and made to believe that she is worthless.
Sent to school with an empty lunch box and dirty clothing, she is an easy target for bullies. She dares not to speak out about the treatment at home as she believes the authorities are looking to punish her for being bad.
The scenes created are very vivid as Bethany explains to the reader, the reason her lunch box is empty is she has allergies and can’t eat very much. Water is expensive and if she wasn’t so bad and greedy, she would be treated differently.
Bethany learns to believe that she doesn’t deserve clean clothing and nice things.
The feeling of being undeserving was a key theme through out the book and I could really relate to it. So many victims of abuse deny themselves small luxuries and find it hard to take care of their bodies. Long after the abuser has left, that impact of being ‘bad’ can stay.
After the last two books I read I was feeling disappointed, and thinking of writing my own book, but this one is really good. I was actually shocked by some of the things I read. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
Well written, easy read that tugs at your heart. Describes abuse without going into the horrific details that would leave you with nightmares. Definitely recommend it.
