This book read very fast. I would say that this isn't very different from the first book at its bones so if you liked the first, I would recommend this one as well. A woman on the run happens to rent from the growlest group of brothers ever and love, mystery, and adventure happen. I love the fury brothers, each of them are very hot to me and I want to read each other there stories. I liked Violet a bit less but she still wasn't bad. There was just one part where she kind of irked me but she turned it around.

I read Her Beast in Brighton earlier this year and was curious enough about the Fury Brothers to continue the series. I did enjoy this one more than its predecessor, although not by much. I do love a scarred man who growls, but not when the plot overshadows the romance. What can I say? I prefer kissing over kidnapping. Her Brute Most Brazen features the dalliance between flower shop owner Violet (the irony is not lost on me) and her hunky landlord, Drake. She sets up in Brighton to escape the controlling men in her life only to encounter another one in her new location. I liked these two more than the previous couple, although it was most of the same: violence in the streets, abductions, and morally grey men with huge fists. I'm still intrigued by this collection and want to read more about these brutish brothers. I'm especially interested in Knight, the strong silent type. Hopefully in the future volumes there will be a changeup plot-wise with some more unique stories. You never know what to expect with the Bastards of Brighton.

This is my 26th book by Tanya Wilde. I love her stories and writing and she writes decent sex scenes although they aren't super descriptive, still well written. I love that she has this new series out. I added book 1 to my favorite books read list. Really looking forward to this one.

I loved Violet and Drake. It took me a bit to get started on this one but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I loved the storyline. So lately, I've been watching these AI dramas on FB reels and I've been obsessed with the Mafia ones. The guys are so HOT!! This kind of reminded me of those but just a different era. I loved Violet and Drake's chemistry. I loved the "brothers" and their stories are going to be so good. Overall a really great read. Hurry up for the next book. :)

Do you know that sleeping disorder called reading? Well, I do and I experienced it while reading the latest installment of the ‘Bastards of Brighton’ series. The more I read, the harder it became to putting the book down to do some work or get some much needed sleep! This one is about Drake, the second of the Fury brothers. It has the same suspense, tension, dangers and humor as the first book. Violet is a fierce and brazen main character herself, not cowed by any scowling or attempts to be intimidating by Drake, because like Calliope before her Violet quickly senses that the Furys are honorable men and not dangerous to good people. She does struggle with trust issues because of the horrible treatment she experienced by the hands of her brother, so she keeps the secret that her brother is the man that Drake is looking for. I have to admit that I wished her to just tell him, but the suspense is tangible and you just can’t put the book down. I loved that Violet was so bold and fierce and I laughed because of the funny interaction and banter disguised as bickering between the brothers. Their bond on loyalty is just the best. Violet was a worthy partner to Drake.
I am just bummed I will have to wait until book three in this series!! I don’t want to wait and see what happens with their uncle Sirius but I guess I will have to… If you haven’t read ‘Her Beast in Brighton’ yet, go and use this time to read book one and this book, as well. And if you have the time, start with ‘Beauty and the Lyon’ because that is a great book, too, and it’s the book where the Fury brothers are introduced as the half brothers of the Duke of Crane. All books can be read as a standalone but since they’re all good and are all fun, why not enjoy all three? :-) Regarding this series: I expect there will be 5 more books; about Dagger, Knight, Reaper, Saint and Serpent, so we’re in for a ride!!

Her Brute Most Brazen by Tanya Wilde is the second book in the Bastards of Brighton series, and I absolutely loved it. I didn’t realize I had skipped the first book, but now I’ll definitely be going back to read it because this series has hooked me completely. I’ve always adored strong-willed women and dangerous men, and the Fury brothers fit that bill perfectly.

Lady Violet Sharpe escapes the suffocating grip of her controlling brother and an unwanted betrothal arranged entirely on his terms. Reinventing herself under a new name, she opens a botanical shop and sets out to live life on her own terms. But fate intervenes when her path collides with Drake Fury, the undefeated underground fighter known as the Brute of Brighton. Her tidy new world quickly unravels into chaos.

Drake is accustomed to fear—people avoid crossing him. So it’s a shock when Violet meets his scowls with spark and wit, holding her ground and even getting the better of him more than once. Watching Drake fumble through his confusing feelings for Violet was both heartwarming and hilarious. When danger strikes and her brother resurfaces, everything builds to an intense and dramatic confrontation.

I love a good broody hero paired with a sunshine heroine, and Violet and Drake are the perfect embodiment of that dynamic: the stormy, scarred fighter who doesn’t know how to feel, and the radiant woman who becomes his anchor. Their push and pull kept me smiling, swooning, and completely enthralled. The darker tones of betrayal, family tension, and high-stakes danger blend seamlessly with the spark of their romance and the tight-knit brotherly dynamics.

This book had everything—banter, chemistry, angst, tension—and I couldn’t put it down. The story ends on a cliffhanger that left me desperate for the next installment. Like a tempest drawn to the sun, Drake and Violet’s love feels inevitable, and I can’t wait to see how their journey continues.

Second book in a series; probably best to read the previous book first.

3.5 stars not rounded up because I liked the initial setup but it didn't end up being for me. This falls solidly in the "HR fantasy" genre, with a setting of Regency England but modern behavior/attitudes. The focus is more on the family dynamics and the ongoing central plot. If you're a fan of Mafia romances that have protective leads and some violence (although not particularly graphic), you'll probably like this.

The writing style is solid and there is plenty of banter between the MC's along with some sexytimes. I wasn't super into the romance and it didn't conclude in the usual way. A lot of the plot does follow the usual beats of an antihero from the underworld being attracted to a feisty heroine outside of his usual scope. The baddies are as you'd expect with a late-book exception. Personally my favorite character out of everyone ended up being Rook.

There are tons of Hades/Persephone allusions, which I liked up to a point. I did feel like MFC Violet and MMC Drake could have been a bit more distinctive as characters though. Violet is mouthy and walks into danger and Drake spends most of the book chasing after her. Tbh I got confused with all of the brothers and felt that maybe reading the first book, which I haven't, would have helped. The ongoing subplot involving Drake's uncle is a cliffhanger and seems very Mafia-esque.

Bottom line: not really for me, but you might like it.

This was such a fun read—historical romance with the perfect amount of tension and danger! There are Hades and Persephone themes throughout, and I loved the dynamic of landlord x tenant and brooding underworld dark hero x sunshine spitfire heroine.

This is book 2 of the Bastards of Brighton series, and I believe there are connections to other books by this author. I don’t think reading the first is absolutely necessary, but you will enjoy knowing more about some of the supporting characters and what I believe will be some overarching plot points throughout the series.

Violet and Drake are the couple featured in this story—she has recently run from her troubles in London (a wicked brother and fiancé) to set up a flower shop and a new life. He is a fighter and one of the Fury brothers, a powerful group who rule the underground of Brighton. Their first encounter is absolutely captivating—she is a flame in his darkness. And their second meeting in the light of her garden—perfection! Their banter and dynamics throughout the story were so good.

One thing I especially enjoyed about the story was how the author got into Violet’s head, showing the way she processes information and also how important her love of flowers and her hopes for her business and new life were to her.

I love when a very powerful man finds himself suddenly under the control of a woman, especially when he feels he must stay away from her. This story more than delivered! It will leave you happy with the romance of their journey and clamouring for more from the author.

When you’re stuck between hell or the underworld, where do you run to?

Violet managed to escape her abusive brother, jilt an equally cruel fiancé, disappear and make a new life for herself in Brighton. But now rumour has it they might catch up sooner than expected, and looking for answers landed her in the worst man’s line of sight. Or didn’t it?
Drake; by-blow, boxing champ, brute and... landlord. Someone is trying to eliminate him, but if growing up in London’s gutters taught him anything, it’s how to survive. Nothing like a fight to draw out the dog out for his blood. But then why did his tenant flower shop girl walk in?

They both know they shouldn’t, but a thread has been tethered...
She should run. Far and fast. Then why does he make her feel safe? Why is outsmarting him such fun? And what will happen when he figures out the truth?
Women are a weakness he cannot afford, yet her flame captivates him, her secrets intrigue him, but it’s her lack of fear for him that seals the deal. Experience made her clever and creative, and what better aphrodisiac for a beast than a woman who bests him?

Be warned, this was not a fluffy tale! There’s blood, torture, trauma and omnipresent danger. It’s intense and twisted, but there’s also this gorgeous sibling bond with unconditional loyalty and the inevitable vexation.
This was a thrilling read! One the one side a delectable, sizzling, impossible romance. On the other a common enemy (not that they know it) and a much more dangerous force at play. Mix with meddling half-brothers, dungeons, knife attacks, kidnapping and a traitor (not a surprise, but I hope the author makes him suffer, or comes up with one hell of a redemption arc) and end up with a captivating action-packed treat and strong Hades & Persephony vibes.
For a story with so many invested parties, I loved that there were a lot of one-on-one moments for V&D! They weren’t all of the romantic kind; some were heartbreaking, some witty or humbling – and one ended in his pants.
One thing’s for sure; this woman has balls, the enemy is vicious, and her man may be the underworld king, but she makes him work for it!

The Fury brothers are at it again….or rather their enemy is. This is one ‘hold your breath’ stories that you cannot put down. Violet is on the run from a. Abusive brother and equally abusive fiancé. Drake is dodging his own enemy. Their chemistry was so electric, it was easy to get lost in their story. I adore protective hero’s and Drake is definitely one. Violet is no ‘shrinking violet’ and is learning to fight for the freedom she wants. It was a story I could not put down and finished in one sitting. The action is well written, where you can envision what is being done, the love scenes are beautiful , the plot paces very well and no crass language (thank you author!). Of course there is a bit of a cliffhanger, but Drake and Violet get their HEA. It will be interesting to see where the author takes us from here.

In this Hades x Persephone meets Bridgerton romance story, we see two people from drastically different circumstances fall in love and face the obstacles facing them. A guaranteed happily ever after is sometimes just what the doctor ordered in a chaotic and stressful world, and Her Brute Most Brazen does just that. Set in Brighton during the Regency, this series has strong, empowered female characters fighting for their own agency at a time when that wasn’t the default option, and the gooey protector men with hearts of gold buried underneath growly exteriors. The plot has the intrigue to keep you invested without being overwhelming. And at the end of the day, who doesn’t love and enemies-to-lovers, Hades x Persephone retelling? I know I sure do! A great, fun read for historical romance fans.

This book had so much potential, but it moved too quickly for me. The setting and characters were not developed enough—perhaps more foundation was laid in the first book, but since I read this one as a standalone, I felt lost at times. There are so many Fury characters that it became confusing, and I found myself wanting more insight into Violet’s life and the town itself. Given the time period and the number of scandalous events that take place, I was surprised that the town’s reactions were never really explored.

That said, the core story was interesting, and I enjoyed the idea of the seven brothers looking out for one another. Violet and Drake’s romance also felt rushed, which kept me from fully connecting with their relationship.

Despite these issues, I would still be open to reading more books in the series.

This historical romance series should be read in order. The background story follows along better that way. You could read just one book, but I guarantee you will want to read the rest. It's an action packed tale with a lot of danger. It is at times violent. That is what we expect from our Brighton Bastards.
Our heroine this time ran from vindictive men to make a life she chose. Will she be able to live that life in peace?.
Our hero finds himself with an extra enemy that is determined to kill him. Finding out who that is is vital to knowing how to deal with it.
I can't wait for the next book.

Truly exciting romance with a touch of danger and heartfelt affection.
Violet changes her name and runs to Brighton to escape her abusive brother and so called fiancée.
Her landlord for her flower shop is the Fury gang. One in particular, Drake, appeals to her with his intimidating facial scar, and gruff voice.
His attraction to her is wrapped in overprotection and hot kisses.
Multiple dangerous encounters and a fun devoted set of Fury brothers.
Second book in a series well worth reading.

Stop. This was so good. These days I am quite picky with my five-star ratings, but I would side eye my own self if I gave this book anything else. The chemistry, banter, tension, and angst between Drake & Violet was simply delicious. Drake is so down bad. His inner dialogues over Violet are addicting to read. I love him. Violet is a perfect match for Drake. She puts him in his place when need be. Nothing is like witnessing a broody man fall to his knees for woman. Really enjoyed the push and pull of these two. Highly recommend.

Fascinated by Drake, she feels safe and protected when with him. But he has a connection with her brother and she's afraid to confess who she really is. Trust, the important word for a relationship.

In this Hades X Persephone themed romance, a sweet florist falls in with her big, dark, and dangerous landlord. They're surrounded by danger, and channel antagonist-to-lovers vibes.

I liked the base premise of this book, but the banter between the mains was a bit too snipey for me, and Violet frustrated me a little. She came across to me as a little needlessly antagonistic and impulsive. This being said, if you enjoy snippy back and forth, it may be to your taste. It's pretty plot heavy, and strong in family dynamics if these are things you like in your histroms.

This was the turn of Drake Fury to find his forever love. Violet has escaped his controlling nasty brother and fiance to Brighton and set up a flower shop. Drake is the Fury brother who is her landlord what follows is a series of escapades between the two as they endeavour to accept that they can be with each other as the brothers try to outwit their Uncle.
I did really enjoy reading this book It was fast paced with lots of romance and danger.
