Suspense-thrillers, the supernatural and horror, romantic comedy, science fiction, westerns – he isn’t one to be fenced in by a genre label – he just enjoys telling a good story.
While attending film school at USC his focus was on directing. At the time a new director was more likely to get the opportunity to direct a feature film if they had written the screenplay. So, he began writing screenplays and teleplays, and wrote a shelf-full of them.
Phil always loved books and reading so it was only a matter of time before his enjoyment of writing screenplays began to transform into a desire to write a novel. The end result was Black Shadow Moon. He is currently writing the sequel to Black Shadow Moon and has four other novels in various stages of development.
A native Californian, Phil spent over 30 years working in the entertainment industry. In addition to writing his interests include songwriting, playing and recording music, still photography, and shooting cowboy firearms.
Phil is married to an amazing and beautiful woman who puts up with all his artistic moodiness. They make their home in Los Angeles, California.

Cayden March is the kind of hero who runs toward danger while the rest of us are looking for the nearest exit. Broke, desperate, and unable to resist the pull of action, he agrees to eliminate a target on the island of Saint Lucaros. What starts as a calculated hit quickly turns into a fight for survival packed with betrayals, bullets, and enough tension to make your pulse do jumping jacks.
Kassel’s writing is sharp, gritty, and fast-moving, with action scenes that explode off the page like fireworks over a powder keg. Cayden is tough, witty, and wonderfully flawed, making him impossible not to root for.

First off, thanks Phil for letting me read an advanced copy, even though I’m a bit behind getting to it.
Phantom Kill isn’t the type of book I normally pick up since military thrillers aren’t usually my go-to genre, but I still found quite a bit to enjoy here. The story mixes action, political intrigue, and conspiracy elements into a fast-paced thriller that feels surprisingly relevant. A lot of the plot centers around wealthy and powerful people abusing their influence to avoid consequences, which makes parts of the story feel ripped from today’s headlines.
The political side of the book was a bit of a mixed bag for me. While it helps build the larger conspiracy and themes, those sections occasionally dragged and slowed the momentum. I found myself most invested whenever the story shifted back to the action. When Kassel lets things loose, the book really shines. The action sequences are tense, exciting, and easy to visualize, making it hard not to keep turning pages.
One thing I appreciated was that I never felt lost despite not having read the previous Cayden March novel. The book stands well on its own, giving readers enough information to understand the characters and stakes without feeling like they’re missing half the story.
Overall, Phantom Kill is a solid thriller with timely themes, strong action, and a story that works even for newcomers to the series. While the political elements didn’t always hold my attention, the action more than made up for it.

Santos Medina is the head of a notorious cartel. He has plans to take over as President of St Lucaros island in order to pursue his illegal cartel operations without intervention from the higher ups as he would dictate his own laws. Cayden March has been assigned to get rid of Santos. Santos is well protected so he visits the island as a wealthy tourist where he meets Arden whom he is drawn to. Who is Arden really and why is she being so secretive? How can he get a chance to get into Santos Medina's impregnable fortress of a house? Can he prevent St Lucaros island from being the hub of illegal drug trafficking? I was totally captivated by this well crafted plot. The suspense keeps escalating as Cayden's probing leads to him being trapped in a lethal situation with only his wits and tenacity to survive. My favourite character is Arden who is on her own mission and whose strategies are cleverly thought out. She is determined to complete her mission even at risk to her life

An edge-of-your-seat thriller that is not only well-written but hard to put down. Works fine as a standalone, with a backstory that lets you move on seamlessly. But if you haven't yet, go back and read the first one; you won't be sorry. Tons of action, twists and turns, and descriptive settings that made me feel like I was there!

Cayden is out of work and needs money. He is offered a job through his former commander to go to a tropical island and kill a head of a cartel. He originally refused, but his need of money over road that. Action packed and a page turning thriller.

Cayden just wants to have a quiet life. It was greatly disturbed requiring him to exercise considerable force to stop violent offenders. Now he needs a job.
The good guys are not playing fair - in fact they resort to their own kind of evil. The bad guys are worse, the worst kind of evil. In fact their methods, what they have done and are willing to do so turned my stomach that I stopped reading.

Really enjoyed this book! It is action packed, and sucks you in from the first page. I read the first book from the series but this could easily be a stand alone book. I am excited to see what else P.G. Kassel writes!

This was an exciting thriller that follows Cayden March who is off to the Carribean to deal.with a drug Lord aiming to become President of the country. The story is fast-paced with a host of varied characters and an intense main character.

The second book in the Cayden March series, starts out with a bang. P. G. brings us Cayden again as he takes on the cartel. This is action=packed and blood soaked. It keeps you turning the pages and routing for Cayden the whole way. Can't wait to read the next one.

Absolutely fantastic thriller. Cayden is the person you want in your corner when bad things start to happen. Hard to put this book down. I highly recommend it.
