Myles plays football for a struggling League Two team in an industrial town in the north of England. He’s an all-in player, it’s not just a job and in tight-knit communities where football means a lot, it can sometimes feel over-whelming. He’s sensible, sensitive, cautious and generally on guard, especially with girls.
They meet by chance and Myles, who overthinks everything, can’t not take a chance on Mia. The long distance is difficult though and Myles is struggling with his team in a relegation battle. Mia makes everything better, but she comes and goes and the highs of time with Mia combined with the lows of losing every week are a trigger for Myles’s anxiety. He’s losing his grip on the daily routine that is so important to him.
Mia is doing her best to support Myles, but she's not ready to leave her life in London, for them to take the next step.
Can they reach a compromise? Are their careers more important than true love?

My Thoughts
I devoured this book in just two days—which speaks volumes about how hooked I was!
The chemistry between them was instantaneous and electric. And the spice? Phew. It lived up to every expectation and then some! What surprised me most was the depth of the inner monologue. Georgina Robinson captures the struggle of self-doubt and overthinking so profoundly, I felt every bit of that anxiety right along with the characters. It made the story feel incredibly grounded and real.
I also really appreciated the narrative structure. Having distinct perspectives for Myles and Mia, alongside those shared "Myles & Mia" chapters, allowed for such a balanced look into their relationship.
As a massive football lover myself (my husband plays, so I see the "life" from the sidelines), I felt so seen by this book. The portrayal of the football world (which can be so unforgiving and cruel) felt authentic. Even though I’m a fan, I could completely relate to Mia’s initial struggle to understand Myles' world, the author does a brilliant job of bridging that gap.
Verdict
Whether you are a sports fan or not, this is a beautiful, emotional, and spicy romance that I highly recommend. If you love romance, mark your calendars for its release!
For non-sports fans: You will absolutely relate to Mia’s journey and the emotional stakes.
For football & romance lovers: This is a non-negotiable must-read.

After a chance encounter that shouldn't have happened and a very awkward first interaction, the two begin to realize that while they seem completely opposite on the surface (type A vs. type B), they actually have far more in common than either expected.
What I loved most about this book was Mia. She was a strong, confident FMC who believed in herself and her goals. Even while supporting Myles and their relationship, she never lost sight of her own dreams. Myles was equally easy to love, caring, supportive, and undeniably swoony.
I also appreciated that this wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. The story explores the realities of long-distance relationships and the challenges that come with balancing love and ambitious careers. The conflicts felt realistic, the flirting was hot, and I found myself rooting for both characters every step of the way.
If you enjoy sports romances, grumpy vs. sunshine dynamics, small-town vs. big-city vibes, and characters who have to decide whether love is worth reshaping their carefully planned futures, this one is worth picking up.

I loved this book! It was full of spice (the mirror scene🥵), just the right amount of football, a few laughs and a little bit of suspense. It all came together beautifully in this book. The characters were well described throughout; I felt like I gained a full sense of their backgrounds. The topic of anxiety and pressure from high expectations was dealt with very well. I found Myles’ anxiety very relatable.

Myles, a League Two footballer playing for a team on the verge of relegation, is almost the polar opposite. He’s sensible, organised and used to being in control. I really enjoyed the story of Mia and Myles; two people who came from such different backgrounds and yet were perfect for each other.
As a big Taylor Swift fan, I loved the way the author weaved the songs through the book and how Mia measured her runs in tracks. (I’ve been known to do the same!)
Myles and Mia were both so dedicated to their careers and goals, and I really identified with Mia’s worries that they wouldn’t be able to make it work. Another element I particularly loved was the male mental health representation which I think the author handles really well.
This debut was a great book for reading on a sun lounger this summer and I recommend it for anyone looking for a sports romance with a decent amount of spice, especially if you’re partial to a Taylor Swift song or two!

Thank you to Georgina for giving me the opportunity to read this book. It was such perfect timing with it being the world cup right now.
I loved both the lead characters in this book Myles and Mia and was fully invested and wanted the best for both of them. This story took me back to my 20s and navigating long-distance relationships. The story touched on anxiety issues and this aspect was incorporated and explored really well.

I received this arc from the author and I am so glad that I did!
This book was sweet and hot at the same time, like hot honey! I really enjoyed the characters, Mia and Myles. I kept wondering how they were going to work things out. I knew that they would because they were perfect for each other. I also think that the author might be setting up a universe and is opening the door for stories about the other characters (I won’t name them because that would be a spoiler).
I recommend this one!
